****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

It is held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. I have had several friends who's children were in the competition and they always come home after it is over because the kids are still in school.

It also can be held at HS in the Indiana Jones amphitheater. So just make sure if you head there & want to see that show to check the show schedule. Enjoy

The excitement is starting to build!!! May 3 - 9 at the Beach Club.

I just got a new lens for my camera and can't wait to use it at the World!!

I am not even close to starting to pack. Ugh!!!

Unfortunately, my darling DD grew a ton over the winter and won't fit into any of her 2t's, so it's off to the store to buy some 3's. Luckily, we bought the girls' Easter dresses during Gymbucks, so I've got those. And DH bought the girls some spring clothes at Old Navy and got Crazy Cash (or whatever it is called). I'm shopping in April! :thumbsup2

We are going to celebrate DH's birthday while in WDW. Right now, he's trying to decide if he wants to eat at our planned 1900 Park Fare on his birthday (which he requested originally) or if he wants to go to Yachtsman Steakhouse for his birthday. While it would be nice to just be able to walk over to Yacht Club from the resort, the girls would be so much happier at 1900. Plus, I can go ahead with my plans of ordering a custom cake from GF.

We are also debating on whether to add the DDP or go with Tables in Wonderland. DH doesn't like the DDP anymore, but I'm coming up with numbers that seem to indicate that the DDP would be cheaper. Aaah! I hate decisions. :scared::laughing:

I have been buying stuff up for our trip. Pins, new camera, more memory cards, new shirts since the kids (and me) have grown since our last trip, etc. But I haven't even started thinking about packing yet!! I've already started working on some of our window decorations for Pop though. :)

What is you favorite quick service meal in Magic Kingdom? Would you recommend it for kids and adults?

I wish we had the option of DDP but staying offsite we decided to go with TIW. It's not going to save us a lot... maybe $30-50 but saving is saving.

I never could make the DDP come out financially, with our eating habits. Even the QSDP was just way too much food. We don't eat dessert normally with meals and I didn't really think we needed it all the time. Plus, I feel like I would have spent all my time trying to figure out what to eat when. I'd rather have freedom to grab something when we want.

Is anyone else looking forward to April so you can say "I'm going to Disney next month"?

Hey! I don't know why I've never come across this before BUT me and my dd (7) are going to Disney in May!! We arrive May 2 and leave on the 6th!

We are staying at the Beach Club!! I am really looking forward to it and she is super EXCITED!!

I have five children however this trip is special for just me and my little princess! We are celebrating her NOT getting severly sick this past winter! That is an awesome feeling! Our first two trips to Disney were Make A Wish trips. Our whole family went on each. Last year I took my oldest to Universal for a mommy and me trip. In two years I will take my son on his very own special mommy and me trip! I have twins that are a year and a half so they've got to wait a few years before our special tip!

But hey, I don't mind...that gives me time to look forward to MORE DISNEY!

What is you favorite quick service meal in Magic Kingdom? Would you recommend it for kids and adults?

For food I would say Columbia Harbour House, really nice meals always had there. For experience I just enjoy Cosmic Rays, the bad jokes just make it for me.

I haven't had them yet, but I am really looking forward to the new waffle sandwiches at Sleepy Hollow. Our favorite counter-service restaurant is Columbia Harbour House.

I really like the tuna sandwich at Columbia Harbour House. Always fresh and not too much mayo. I would recommend it for anyone who likes a nice, fresh sandwich on multi grain bread. And I always ask for fries instead of the chips and have never had a problem.

Good to see all the reccomendatiions for Columbia Harbour House b/c i wasn't sure where to eat in MK. I'll definitely be looking into it now that I've seen so many reccomend it :)

One Month to go!! party: :cool1:

As for CS at MK - We always go to Casey's Corner. They kids just love their mini corndogs! Sometimes we will get their corndogs and then head over to Peco's Bills for DH and I. We have also been to Cosmic Ray's. It's okay, but always crowded & loud and I don't care for the seperate lines for everything. I'd like to try Columbia Harbor House sometime.

BTW - I finally started my PTR yesterday!! All are welcome! (link is in signature) :goodvibes

I'm another vote for Columbia Harbour House!

Every time we've eaten there, it's been really easy to get seats. The tuna sandwich is so good.

We are going to try the waffle sandwiches at Sleepy Hollow this trip, so I may change my mind. I do like the taco salad at Pecos Bill, too, but Columbia Harbour House is my favorite.

No worries! It is typically sent 3 weeks prior to your arrival date - so 21 days!
PHEW I was getting worried with 35 days left! I'll be lookin around April 12 for our stuff then!

Do you have a PTL, PJ, or Pre-Dining Report?
I do have a Pre Trip report. Here is the link if your interested. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2881688

Tell us about your favorite experience with a CM at WDW!
Picking 1 is tough. But it would have to be in 2005 we were at WDW with my whole family & eating at O'Hana. The waitress we had we have a had a few different times there. My dad mentioned to her that we had had her as a waitress before & were glad to get her again. She mentioned my family to the manager who came out & spoke with us. My dad told him that O'Hana is a family favorite. The manager came back with a certificate signed by all the characters. Just a little extra Disney magic but it ment a lot to my dad.

What is your favorite snack in all of WDW?
Oh this is a tough one too....I will have to say Dole Whip Swirl, pineapple & vanilla

What is the first ride/attraction you will go to in Epcot?
Hopefully Test Track if it isn't closed. Otherwise Soarin'

What is your favorite restaurant in DTD?
Ragland Road

What Resort did you pick and why?
Our Twin's, who are graduating from high school 1 week before we are there in May, picked it. They said it was our home away from home. :goodvibes

What is your #1 Tip for 1st time visitors?
The same thing we tell our kids on every trip we have made to the World. Take it slow enjoy everything but realize that you will not accomplish it all. It will be here next time.

I was wondering if I could get some advice/opinions on where to do an ADR on our last night on our trip. I know this isn't the restaurants thread, but I thought, what the Hay..couldn't hurt to get more opinions!

We are celebrating my college graduation with a breakfast at Crystal Palace, my husband's birthday with a dinner at Ohana, but I just cannot decide where to set our last ADR to celebrate our anniversary!:confused3

We are super picky eaters, and have already nixed the menus at Bistro De Paris, Chefs De France, Garden Grill, California Grill, Teppan Edo, Tony's, Liberty Tree..and I'm sure there are more. I just want it to be special, and have LOTS of delicious options.

Oh, and that day is pretty much just a free-do whatever we want-kind of day, so where it is located is not so much an issue.

We are not on DDP, so we will be paying OOP, so definitely not thinking anything like Victoria and Alberts.

Any help or suggestions would be great! :banana:Thanks a ton!
