****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

Why yes I am.:wizard: What I really love is buying the last gallon of milk that expires right at your departure date. :yay:

That's so funny because I was thinking kind of the same thing, I bought some oj and the expiration date was for May 15 and I thought to myself that this will be good until after we get back. 38 more days!!

I keep forcing myself not to start packing. Of course, I've already started shopping for clothes for the girls, but they need new summer clothes anyway, right? At least, that's what I keep telling myself. And DH.

Hello and welcome! I'm so excited to start packing -- I've already gotten the suitcases out and I bought some sample sizes and travel-related stuff last night when we went grocery shopping. And I'm already trying to plan out what everyone's going to wear...

We don't fly very often so I'm nervous about forgetting anything. We won't have a car and it'll be hard to get anywhere to buy whatever I forget. I'm going to start a packing list with the hope I WON'T forget anything!

Plus we only are taking carryon suitcases on the way down (for an 11 night trip) :scared1: so I'm a little worried about everything fitting! I remember we took carryons for a 3 night trip a few years ago and they were STUFFED. Granted it was winter so we had jeans, sweaters, and the like... but still, worried about how all of it will fit!

Question of the Day:

If you had to pick 1 in May, would you do Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon? and why?

Typhoon Lagoon. I really like a couple of the attractions that are unique to TL, specifically the coral reef snorkel experience and the water coaster, and it has been closed for its winter rehab on our last two long trips so it has been years since I've been there. Unfortunately May is another short trip so I won't get back this time either.

Question of the Day:

I'd pick Typhoon Lagoon. Whilst I loved Blizzard Beach growing up (I spent a few birthdays there), the rides are great but it's a little fast paced. It's really all about the rides. The theme at Typhoon is more relaxing so now I am older I would choose that. I could sit & relax at Typhoon where I think Blizzard I would be all go.

Ok, we are going May 28- June 2. It will be me (44), my aunt (74), my daughter and son in law (23, 25 (I think)), daughter (17) and grandson (1)

What are you Celebrating?
Youngest daughter's becoming a senior, son in law and grandson's first time, grandson's first birthday . (anything else we can think of as a reason to go to Disney).

Are you a pin collector?
No, been there . . . done that. ..over it.

What is your first full day plan?
It's a tradition. . . MK. . .it makes it better that we are staying at the Contemporary so it will be easy to check in early, early and hit the park!

What is your favorite place in WDW to have breakfast?
Chef Mickey's, got to do it once every trip!

In order, what are you favorite parks to see?
1 being your favorite, 4 being the last one you will visit.
1 and 2 are a tie: Magic Kingdom and Epcot
3: Hollywood Studios I WILL ride TSM this trip!!! I miss it every time!
4: Animal Kingdom usually spend no more than half a day. . . I could do without it but want to see Nemo's musical because I always miss it

Do you have a PTR, PJ, or Pre-Dining Report?
Nope

Tell us about your favorite experience with a CM at WDW!
Actually not with a CM but with another guest. When my oldest was about 14 we rode Misson Space and when she got off she linked arms with this guy (probably in his 20s) thinking it was her dad. It took her a couple of minutes to realize it!

What is your favorite snack in all of WDW?
It's a tie. .. . an Areo candy bar from England (chocolate with bubbles in it!) and Mickey rice crispy treat!

What is the first ride/attraction you will go to in Epcot?
Soarin ' but the last will be Space Ship Earth

What is your favorite restaurant in DTD?
Planet Hollywood!!

What is you favorite viewing place for the following WDW events?:
Wishes in my bed at the Contemporary!!!
Illuminations at the Rose and Crown
Fantasmic were else than the stadium?

What Resort did you pick and why?
The Contemporary because my aunt likes the ability to get to MK and Epcot from the monorail. It is our 5th time here!

What is your #1 Tip for 1st time visitors?
Have a plan but also be flexible.

Will you drive/fly or take the train to WDW?
Drive: about 12 hours!

Do you have something that you get everytime you go to WDW?
See favorite treats! I'll usually get a new tshirt too though.

What is your favorite activity to do outside the parks during the day?
There is a world outside the parks? Really? Didn't know that! Actually we have a pool so we don't really even visit the pool while there.

Question of the Day:

If you had to pick 1 in May, would you do Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon? and why?

DD and DH would say Blizzard Beach for the Thrill Slides

my vote though is

TYPHOON LAGOON
we look at white snow for sometimes 6months of the year so just give me the tropical one any day!!! Plus i don't do the thrill slides so the wave pool and lazy river are just up my alley :goodvibes

35 days and counting for us! Whoohoo!!

I feel like a nutcase how much time I spend obsessing over this trip. It's like....Sleep.eat.thinkabout disney.eat.think about disney. eat. think about dsney. sleep. :lmao:

I need an intervention.:dance3:

Anyways, regarding waterparks. We hit Blizzard Beach once in May and froze our booties off. The weather was hot but the water was COLD. Always wanted ot try Typhoon Lagoon but can't stand coughing up that extra money to make our tickets "....and MORE" tickets! :rolleyes1

Blizzard Beach

I like the head first slides, and the older I get... the more battered I feel by the Typhoon Lagoon wave pool  I'm learning to love what I once thought was the "boring" wave pool :lmao: :rotfl2:

Hi!! Where are you staying? We will be at POP 5/1-5/9. :goodvibes

In exactly 45 days, my fanny will be parked in Artist Point enjoying my first meal or our vacation. It's amazing how quickly the time has flown.

51 days to go, over here! It's quickly getting closer! My day has sucked beyond words, and posting/reading around here is a good pick-me-up. :lovestruc Vacation coming soon!

I do that too!:rotfl:

I am coaching softball this season and we have almost 40 games between now and when we leave for WDW!:scared: I am silently freaking out because I have not had time to do what I need to. People, I dont even know the park hours of the week we will be there!:scared1: Blasphemous!!:lmao: I feel like pigs will fly before I will get a chance to shop for warm weather clothes...and we've been in the 80s for two weeks now!!

Hopefully, I will have time tomorrow night (after a home game and a little chocolate therapy:lmao:) to do some of my "prep work." LOL

34 more day for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't beleive I'm practically at the one month mark :goodvibes

Question of the Day:

Typhoon Lagoon--I could Lazy River all day long!!! You know if I didn't burn after 15 mins in the sun, even with 1000 spf ;)

Can I join? We are headed to WDW May 7-14th staying off-site at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. We are surprising our 3 & 5 yr old daughters! Last time we went was Sept '10. I am so excited!!!

I have our itinerary all written out for the week. I have them booked at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Downtown Disney followed by lunch at Akershus in Epcot on the 10th. They'll be so excited! We're only doing 3 days in the parks, but at their age I feel that is PLENTY. We will be spending one day doing an airboat ride in the Everglades in Miami, then swimming the beach in Ft Lauderdale. Another day we're going to a citrus grove to pick our own oranges and grapefruits. :)

I'm such bargain hunter that we already have the dresses (bought with coupons), lanyards and pins (bought at a fraction of the price), gift cards for Disney (15% off) and EVERYTHING else, ALL with great deals ;) Now just counting down...

All of you with 30-40 days left..I am soooo jealous...the worst part of a May 30th vacation is that everyone here will be already enjoying their trips before I get to go!! lol
