****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

We just switched from All Star Sports to Pop Century. :woohoo: Our dates stayed the same May 8-May 12.

Just so you know you also have me listed on the "Know our Dates Now Where to Stay" List (it shows May 9-May 13 which were our original dates). :flower3:

How much spending money should I bring? We won't have to buy food, we got the dining plan (we're not "snackers" lol). So basically, how much should I set aside for t-shirts and all that junk? It's just me and the fiance. No kids.

I usually make sure that I have $100 in my wallet for each day. Sometimes, we go on a spending spree and all the money is used in one day and then other times, we won't spend hardly any of the daily $100.00.

Seeing Dumbo's reopening push back to March 31st really makes me happy we picked the end of May for our trip. Now I'm curious if Big Thunder will be back up at the end of May as previously stated or if they will push that back too.

I guess it depends on what you think you might WANT to buy and then a bit more. LOL> Do you have anything in particular in mind b/c that might help for a starting point. For example I will want a charm for my bracelet so I will have enough money to cover that, then I might want a mug for my tea if one catches my eye and then souvies for DD's friends and for family. Then add a bit to that in case I HAVE to have something and in case something comes up that I need cash for.

I am beyond ecstatic right now!! After 2 months of researching and planning on a Universal trip, as we are sitting down tonight so I can tell my BF what I have come up with, not only does he mention going to Disney...he wants to stay onsite!! I took him almost kicking and screaming to Disney pre-kids and it was just not his cup of tea. Apparently having a 4yo princess loving daughter can change a man. :rotfl:
:woohoo:
Oh, my dates are 5/1-5/9 (just booked flights) and staying at POP.

Have fun!!! It's definitely nice when they are more involved :thumbsup2 We will be there roughly around the same times :goodvibes

Just wanted to pop on to see my tickers!! Almost down to just 2 months!:woohoo:

My husband is getting a little more excited as each day passes. He has asked me to tell him one special or fun thing about WDW or our trip everyday. It's always hard to narrow it down to one thing though!!

That's neat!!! My dh is starting to get more excited now too - I used to only be able to tell him when our ticker went down like a few weeks but now I can tell him every 4 or 5 days and I get a good reaction :goodvibes

Just wait another 5 days and when you log on you'll have a number 1 at the start!!!!! won't THAT be nice?! lol

I just read on another thread that the value resorts are going to have a fridge included in the rooms now. That would be great if this is true! :)
That would be GREAT!!! That's one of the main reasons we don't stay onsite - we really like a fridge and our own food to eat.

mickeystoontown: $100 a day? Noted! Thank you! Honestly, I think I'm going to be spending more money getting family and friend gifts instead of getting myself anything. lol

And I'm still crossing my fingers that they don't close Splash Mountain while we're there... I would probably be bummed all day about it. :rotfl:

I will make the change now :) I hope you enjoy Pop!!

I would say around $70-100 a day depending what you are looking to get. Haha I tend to go crazy when in the countries at Epcot. I like to get things from all around the world :)

Ha ha! I thought it was just me with the countries ;)

Thanks everyone for the money tips! I guess that gives me 9ish weeks to save up!

And I am probably going to spend too much money at world showcase, as well. Japanese is my second language, so my eyes are probably going to bug out of my head in that gift shop. :scared1:

We purchased our last "trip item" today, and I actually put a few things into my suitcase (like my bathing suit... I won't be needing that in NH at the moment :rotfl:). It's kind of surreal! I started my countdown at number 300-something, and now it's 68... :cool2:

Congrats! :D It's a great feeling...

Does anyone know when they send you your Magical Express tickets in the mail, and everything like that??

I think it's a week or two before your trip for your ME vouchers...I'm going off when the mailmain delviered my neighbor's mail to me and it was a week before her trip.

After a painless 15 minute phone call to the reservation line, we are in! Room booked at POP with spring discount. :cool1:

:cool1: Welcome!! We are also staying at Pop! We are going 4/29-5/9!! Maybe we will see you!

To the people asking about the fridge...you could check on the Budget forum. There are some fridge swaps going on. We did that last year and we are doing it again this year! It was great!!

Hi everyone!

My DH and I are heading back to the World for to celebrate our 2nd anniversary this May, our dates are May 5-May 9, and we're staying at the Beach Club! Can't wait to pay off that balance in a few weeks, then begin the countdown to Mickey Mail, that's when the trip starts to really feel close! :cool1:

Congrats!!! :yay: I would LOVE to stay at the Beach Club! That is my dream resort. Our anniversary is May 6th. This year will be 12 years!!

I just booked the Wishes Dessert Party for my daughter's birthdayon May 26! I am so excited!!!!!

I just got the dessert party booked for our first night. I'm keeping it as a surprise for everyone. Can't wait!!!

Everything is booked and we are ready to go. I'm tempted to being packing just to make sure I have everything I need!

I made 3 out of 4 bows that my daughter will be wearing... maybe I could wrap some of the gifts and get our grocery list in order. 58 days just does not sound like that much time!
