****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

Ooohhh, since we are sharing count downs here's ours :) I didn't want to cut anymore than 39 mickey heads so the rest of the days are counted down in the paperclips at the top. In this picture we were at 6 weeks/paperclips and 39 days/mickey heads. We are now at 5 paperclips and 39 mickey heads :thumbsup2

I didn't even think to post this here b/c i have it on my pre trip report. Feel free to pop over and join in :goodvibes I will warn you though - I started it on Jan 1st so there is lots to read already!!! But i've tried to make it simple by putting a table of contents in the first post so you can just click on each entry without having to read all the jibber jabber in between. i sure hope if you stop by you'll post!! And if you have a pre trip report of your own make sure to let us all know b/c I will want to check it out too:)

The link to my ptr is just below the pic.

If you get the paint samples from Home Depot, you don't have to cut any mickey heads out. The mickey heads peel off nicely from the paint sample! That's what we made our countdown calendar from!!
:yay:

Question for our May Disney Travelers:

What is your most recommended seating area for the following:
MK Wishes - The past 2 trips we sat right in front of the castle in the hub - dead center. I just can't bring myself to sit anywhere else. Anywhere behind that is standing and my kids wouldn't be able to see and I love being dead center on with the castle :)

Illuminations - We stood over to the left before entering the world showcase. It was a good view and easy to leave when it was all over with.

Fantasmic - We sat dead center about halfway up the stands. Next time I'd like to be lower down even though it gets kinda hot when the fire starts up :)

This is true. I find them to be a bit flimsy thought when just peeled off which leads to more wrinkles and bends so me being a perfectionist insists on cutting. :goodvibes

I feel so inadequite. :rotfl2: My countdown is just on my dry erase board.

"87 days until Disney!" and then a badly drawn pair of mickey ears. XD The number is in red marker, though! So I change the numbers every morning. :p

Wishes: I like watch from the left side of the HUB toward Adventureland or right in front of the popcorn card on the right center side of the HUB. A very very close 3rd option is from the Poly beach, not dealing w/ the crowds makes it so much better.

Illuminations: I'll admit it I'm not a fan. I've tried watching several times and just don't "get it". The IG bridge betweek the UK and France used to have a good view but I havn't checked in the past few years so I don't know what the tree situation si.

Fantasmic: from the Dining Package section anywhere. There really are no bad seats IMO. We have seen it dozens of times from all over I like the dining package section best b/c less wait to get in and still have a seat and we are the first ones out.

Wishes---I like watching from dead center of the hub, right in front of the castle. A close second is from the bridge heading into TomorrowLand.

Illuminations--I'm like a PP, who said they just don't get Illumination. I agree. Sometimes we watch, sometimes we don't--Because it's not our favorite, we don't stress over a location.

Fantasmic!---Never sat in the far sections from the entrance, so I can't speak for it. But we've sat in the reserved section, and enjoyed it. Given the choice, we always sit near the middle, about 2/3s of the way up.

JESSICA527--- I've changed resorts since I was added to the May list. Now I'm at the Poly for the same dates (5/27-6/2). Thanks! :)

I am going to Walt Disney World around mid May. I have determined, that is the best time to go. It isn't too hot or humid. It didn't rain at all when I went last May. I can't wait! I am spending a day at Islands of Adventure on May 12th. The 13th and 14th are going to be Disney days. Sooo excited!

That makes me feel a bit more confident about the weather :)
I admit I am freaking out a little that I chose rainy season, but hopefully being there the first two weeks in May means I am avoiding the big downpours

We have not been to Disney since 2009. This trip will be a graduation present for my 18 yr son.

He has been in school since we was 5 * learning disability* and we are so ready for this trip and of course to graduate high school. :cool1:

we will be staying at Sports.

I finally caught up on all the replies! We are still finalizing everything, but we plan to be at Pop from May 6-10. Going with my boyfriend who hasn't been there in more than 20 years, but I have gotten him just as excited as I am!

^ Congrats! :D It's a great feeling, right? hehehehe

I have a bad feeling that the week or two leading to Disney is going to go soooo sloooooow. :rotfl:

For me, its going SOOOOO SLLLLLOOOOOOOOOWWWWWW right now!!!!!!! I think since we didn't, in our WILDEST DREAMS, think we were going to get to go until 2014, we are still in a dream!!! But, I know its real--I paid for the vacation!!! :rotfl2: Here's the slow part--all ADR's are made, we have our room and our tickets, we have a basic plan. But its FEBRUARY!! May seems SO FAR AWAY!!! Guess I'll just keep hanging out here, reading great things happening to those going right now, and look forward to our turn!! :dance3: Really hope we get to see some DISers there this year!!! :disrocks:

We will be in one of the Universal Parks on the 12th as well :thumbsup2 Not sure which one yet though. I know DD will want her first Universal park day to be IOA but I want to think it out more and see if one park is better than the other on Saturday & Sunday.

You'll have to watch our trip report when we are back to see if you turn up in a pic or two?? lol:laughing:
