****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

So where is everyone dining in May???
I am a BIG fan of Disney Dining. Even though we'll have a full kitchen in our condo, I don't plan to use it much. Here are our ADR's (as of now)...
Liberty Tree Tavern lunch (repeat for me)
TRex lunch
Hoop De Doo Revue dinner
Ohana dinner
Hollywood & Vine breakfast (repeat for me)
50's Prime Time lunch (repeat for me)
Tusker House breakfast
Boma dinner (repeat for me)
Cinderella's Royal Table dinner (after we do BBB & Pirates League)
Flying Fish dinner
Cape May Cafe dinner buffet
I've changed this up so many times already but I think I'm fairly happy with this layout. We had originally planned to do Akershus breakfast on our Epcot day but we'll be having dinner the night before at the castle and I don't want to put the kids on princess overload. A few of the meals, DH is going to sit out on since he's a picky eater... I'm also doing Cape May with just my mother in law since we're such big seafood fans. There are some counter services that I can't wait to try as well... I'm sooo excited!

Here's our ADRs:
Ohana's for dinner
Chef Mickey's - breakfast
La Hacienda - dinner
Mickey's Backyard BBQ - dinner
Akershus - dinner

La Hacienda and the BBQ were DH's choices...go figure we are in Texas and have to have Mexican and BBQ at the World. I fretted over some of the choices, trying to get it to where my kids weren't eating the same things over and over from the disney dining plan kids menus!

I usually HATE making dinner reservations..it creates so much anxiety, yet I have fully booked our reservations months and months in advance. So not like me!

So where is everyone dining in May???

Breakfasts

O'hana | Tusker House | Trail's End

Dinner

Raglan Road | Coral Reef | Narcoossee's | Teppan Edo | T-Rex Cafe | Via Napoli | Kona Cafe | The Wave | Rainforest Cafe AK | Le Cellier | Tony's Town Square | Sanaa | Yachtsman | Rose & Crown | Mama Melrose

Those in orange are repeat performances for us having eaten there last year. Everything in black will be new for us, couldn't go too far off of the reservation as have a very picky Sister who only eats steak or pizza.

We have a few off property places to eat at: Shark's Grill over at SeaWorld (fantastic meal & my must-do), Steak & Shake (my Sister's must-do) & Denny's for breakfast (a family tradition).

So where is everyone dining in May???

"Nine Dragons" (Epcot) on Mother's Day

"Liberty Tree Tavern" (Magic Kingdom) on Monday

"Tutto Italia" (Epcot) on Tuesday

"O'Hana" (Polynesian Resort) on Wednesday (My fiance and I are going alone to this one :lovestruc, everyone else in my party is going somewhere else)

"Biergarten" (Epcot) on Thursday

"Akershus Royal Banquet Hall" (Epcot) on Friday

"Crystal Palace" (Magic Kingdom) on Saturday

I like all the places my group picked, but nobody wanted to go to any of the places I mentioned in Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios. I even read them some of the reviews posted on this site! XD Oh well, what can you do? 8 people, 8 different opinions.

ooooh! a surprise :) Good Luck with it!! I held my surprise for dd about surfing at typhoon lagoon since October but finally blew it. LOL. I hope your better than i am at keeping secrets :) Any idea on how you will tell them yet?

We have been doing "Disney Family Movie Night" every Friday night to make sure the kids know all the characters. We are going to make a video of DH, DMom, DDad and I spilling the beans about "Tomorrow we're all going to WDW" and play that on the Friday before we leave, instead of a Disney video. We leave early Saturday morning. This allows them to pack the toys
they want. I know they won't sleep, but neither will I.;) My kids are not great early risers, so don't think a suprise at 5am would make for a fun celebration.:scared1:

Dining Plans:
--Tusker House for Breakast on Mother's Day! So excited to have an 8am ADR so we can finish eating before the park opens.:yay:
--Garden View Tea Room (is that the name?) on Thursday afternoon for DD, my mother and me (MIL will have flown home by then) It's a surprise for DMom!
--Babycakes, n.y.c. at Downtown Disney. I know this isn't "disney" food, but DS will be able to pick out ANYTHING he wants there! He has never had a cookie, cupcake, cake or anything from a restaurant or bakery.

The rest of our meals will be in the WBC, off site or counter service. With DS's food allergies, we pack all of his food. There are a few things he can eat at WDW (he eats nothing in restaurants at home or other vacations) but not much. His food allergies actually save us a lot of money at WDW.

We will be eating at Flame Tree at AK and probably CHH. They both have safe foods for him there and have pretty good reviews.

I will also be getting a margarita in Mexico. Does that count as dining? :lmao:

So where is everyone dining in May???

Apr 30 - T-Rex (dinner)
May 1 - Sanaa (dinner)
May 2 - 50's PT (late lunch)
May 5 - Kona (late breakfast)

For the rest we will just fly by the seat of our pants. Eat breakfast in condo to start the day, grab some counter service, make meals at the condo, and want to hit some off property restaraunts.

Does anyone know if there is a Golden Corral anywhere nearby?

We eat breakfast every morning in our villa.

And you should be ready to record their reaction when you play the video...I am sure it is something that you will treasure forever!

Will

We will be eating at T-Rex (a repeat), Chef Mickey's (a first), and Sci-Fi (a first as well, although we're not 100% on it). We do mostly quick service restaurants, but I'm looking forward to our Table service meals. :goodvibes

What kind of CS meals is everyone planning?

For us I'm looking at
Pecos Bill's in MK
Flametree BBQ in AK
Pizza Planet at DHS
Sunshine Seasons at Epcot

Then again I did see the Chicken and Waffles at Sleepy Hollow that was featured in a blog, or the new hotdogs at Casey's Corner.

A lot of my CS are up in the air, but we will most likely hit these places:

Casey's Corner
Pecos Bill's
BC Marketplace
BW Pizza
Wolfgang Puck Express

One of the best parts about Disney...the food!

I have ADRs to:

Kona breakfast
Kona dinner
Coral Reef lunch
1900 Park Fare breakfast
Via Napoli dinner
Crystal Palace breakfast
50's Prime Time Cafe dinner

I've only been to Kona before, so I'm trying out a ton of new restaurants. I can't wait!

We will also have a few counter service breakfasts at the Caribbean Beach Resort

Here are our ADR's:

All these will be a first for us except for Boma...I hope they don't disappoint!
