****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

Hi Everyone! We just booked SSR for May 28 to June 3. We are staying in a 2 bedroom villa :cool1: It was either that or May 12 - 19 at WLV, but we were too worried about BTMR being closed still. It was an agonizing decision, and I'm happy it's over. Now I'm agonizing over ADRs. Right now, I have Via Napoli, Chef Mickey's, WCC, and Teppan Edo. Everything else will either be CS or made by me in our kitchen.

We are probably going to both water parks this time around, and I'm going to be looking for tips, such as what to wear (water shoes, rashguards) and what to bring. We are also thinking about visiting Legoland one day -- but it's going to cost us a ton of extra money so right now I am leaning against it.

So happy to be joining this thread!! Woo-hoo!!!:banana::banana:

Just got back from a week in Pittsburgh for work. I was crazy busy and there was no time for Disney thinking. Boo! BUT, now I am home and my brain is once again focused on what it should be: all things Mickey!

Going to try to catch up on some of the questions I missed:

1) Ever been stuck on a ride? Yes! Splash Mountain too many times to count. I've also gotten stuck on EE when we were at the top of the mountain where the Yeti's shadow is on the wall. We sat there for 20 minutes, then had to climb down 17 flights of stairs. They had to keep asking people to stop taking pictures because we were inside the ride.

2) Hoping for pixie dust? Sure! I think the best thing we've ever received was a room upgrade at CR. We've also had lots of little things happen that truly add to the magic. :)

3) Favorite treat from Main Street Bakery? We love to stop and get the cinnamon rolls before we leave at night and have them for breakfast the next morning. They are a snack credit on the DDP, so it's a great deal!

I'm hoping aboard the May Train!!! We're going in May too! Either May 7-11 or May 14-18, waiting on work schedules before booking. I know we will book in the next week though! I CAN NOT WAIT! We've already bought out AP's...which makes me super happy! Now, I just have a few questions.

1. What are the crowd levels like in May?
2. When do AP holder deals come out for May?
3. What is weather like in May?

THANKS! Happy planning to all!

I was looking at MouseSavers' AP historic discounts and they came out on March 3 last year for May dates, if I'm remembering correctly. We booked POR with the public discount that recently came out, but are hoping to get PO:FQ when the AP discount comes out.

Looks like we've finally set our dates. We will be in the World May 21-26. I am excited, but worried that the crowds might already be heavy due to some schools already being out for summer break. Any suggestions? Anyone been during this time?

We have been there around this time and found the crowds to be very nice. Longest we had a wait for a ride was 25 mins. We could get fast passes for everything we wanted and we able to walk up to a few restaurants on days we didn't have ADRs.

Question of the Day:
When at the main street bakery, what is your most recommended item in the store?

I don't remember ever getting anything from it when I was little (we may have I probably just don't remember). However, on my trip in January with Paul (redshoepaul) we decided to stop in a poke around as we were heading out. We grabbed a bag or caramel popcorn with chocolate drizzle. Now I don't know if it was because we were so hungry, but it was amazing. I would definitely get it again. :thumbsup2

:cool1: Please add us to your list. We will be at AKV 5/4-5/11. I booked us last week and then renewed our APs. I have made about 4 ADRs thus far. We will probably fly out of New Orleans (SW, non stop). I wnat to drive but DH loves to just fly.

I have never gotten any treats from the bakery in our 12 trips. DH however always has to get some kind of chocolate Mickey bunt cake. They didn't have them our last trip last month and he was pretty bummed. :guilty:

Question of the Day:
If you got just 1 FP for an attraction at AK, where would you go?

I started to say Kilimanjaro Safari but we usually do that first thing in the morning and Fastpasses aren't necessary. So, I guess I'd say Expedition Everest.

Going down to wdw May 1-9th at POFQ :cool1::banana::cool1

I'm sooo excited. Got the 2012 disney dvd in the mail today and can't wait to OD on some disney. I wonder how many times I can watch the dvd before May??popcorn::

Were going May 29-June5th for my 40th birthday and my daughters first week of summer break from school. Staying at Bay Lake Towers!! :)

Question of the Day:
Did you or do you know anyone that was given a dream in the "Million Dreams" year?

I would have to go with Kali River Rapids. We do Safari first thing so no fastpass needed. Kali is such a short ride, that it is not worth standing in such a long line. My oldest and DH would choose Expedition.
