****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

Question of the Day:
What is 1 attraction that you miss at WDW that has been retired?

I don't know that this has been "retired" but i miss honey I shrunk the audience. I like it much better than Captain E.O. and I think my kids would like it better too.

Question of the Day:

Ex: I really miss Alien Encounter!

I don't think it could be called just an attraction but it's really the only thing I remember & miss hugely:

River Country.

I changed our resort today! With the discounts that were released yesterday, we were able to save over $1,000 by switching to the Yacht Club. I've been wanting to try this resort and I think my kids will love Stormalong Bay! My parents are going with us too and I think this theme will appeal to them.

Now I'm working on ADR's. So far the only one I've booked is CRT. Researching restaurants at YC and BC and BWI. Decisions, decisions!

Question of the Day:
When was your first trip to Disney world? (Include a memory if you can)

Question of the Day:
When was your first trip to Disney world? (Include a memory if you can)

My first time at Disney, I was an infant, so I don't remember it at all. However, we all went again when I was about... 5 or 6 years old. I remember my older brother and sister filling my head with nonsense before we got there (like not finishing your food got you got kicked out of the park). I also remember riding Spaceship Earth in Epcot, and thinking that all museums should be like that ride. :rotfl: I also loved Pirates, and Space Mountain. Animal Kingdom didn't exist yet.

I'm sad to report that I am no longer having my yearly trip in May/June :sad2: due to getting declined for several of my PTO days at work. The good news is we get to go in March now and I'm buying APs so that we can make an end of Summer trip and also go Dec 2012! So I guess I can deal with not going anymore in May :)

My first trip to WDW I was in the 6th grade. My sisters and I went with my mom and my aunt. My mom had asked my dad to go and he said no and then didn't think we would go without him. So my mom asked my aunt and he still didn't believe us until the day we were backing out of the drive without him. Now if we say we are going on vacation he gets his act together and comes with us. I just remember being in awe and totally exhausted after the trip. Now that I have been a few times and have taken my children I find it even more enjoyable.

Question of the Day:
When was your first trip to Disney world? (Include a memory if you can)

I finally made it to WDW in 1995 or 96 after moving from N. Calif to the East Coast. I grew up going to Disneyland quite a bit, so WDW was a dream! I do remember Alien Encounter scaring the cr@p out of me...and I was an adult! DAK was new and not completely finished, but we loved it! I went with my DH, my DMom and DBro...we had an amazing time!

Question of the Day:
When was your first trip to Disney world? (Include a memory if you can)

My mom was pregnant with me when she and my birthfather made the trip in February 1978. So I guess I went along in a way! I'm pretty sure all there was then was Magic Kingdom.

The first time I got there of my own volition I was 20 and had joined the college program in Fall 1999. I remember it being SO HOT (it was August) but thinking it was absolutely amazing! I'm from a very small town in Kansas and we didn't take vacations when I was growing up so this was one of very few times I'd left my immediate area. I'm sure I looked like the biggest country bumpkin ever! :rolleyes1 but I didn't even care! I was too thrilled to just be there!

Question of the Day:
When was your first trip to Disney world? (Include a memory if you can)

Well My first day there was May 9, 1988 as we pulled into the Poly for our honeymoon  At the time there was only the Contemporary and Poly and there was only MK and EPCOT Center. I remember as I walked up to the MK I was so sad :guilty: My husband was SO upset with me. The problem...... I had waited such a long time to get there, then there was the 18 month long engagement and I was finally there, I just didn't want it to be over :sad2: Meanwhile we were there for another 12 days and 11 nights :woohoo: As for other memories..... nope not gonna' share them, I was on my honeymoon after all :rotfl:

Question of the Day:
When was your first trip to Disney world? (Include a memory if you can)

My first trip was when I was 4. I don't really remember much other than memories told to me associated with pictures. However, I do clearly remember being terrified in the elevator scene in HM. I was clinging onto my dad and I think I had a choke hold on him. LOL

My first trip was when I was 5 and I don't have very many memories. The clearest one is of riding Dumbo. :)

On a side note, I finally got all our ADR's done!!! I'm very excited! :cool1:

We will be eating at:

'Ohana
Cinderella's Royal Table
Cape May Character Breakfast
Sci-Fi Theater
Tutto Italia
Crystal Palace
Captain's Grille

The only one's we have eaten at before are CRT and Crystal Palace.

First trip was in 1998! Favorite memory was the first time I saw Mickey/Minnie I ran all the way to the front of the line my mom says. Gotta give me a break though I was 8!

If we arrive early, we sometimes hit the parks right away! Anytime we arrive after six, we check out DTD for a great dinner!

Hello All :goodvibes:

We are going to be in the World May 6-11 staying at the Boardwalk Inn Club Level

I'm kind of nervous about the crowd levels b/c we are going with my mother who hasn't been since I was younger and my four kiddos (8,5,4 and almost 2 at time of travel)

Has anyone else been around this time? is it a good time to go??
