****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

We went in May last year and hit a low temp week. It was PERFECT weather and never rained ONCE while we were in the parks. By the time we left, it was creeping back into the 80's on it's way up... I'm hoping to get really lucky again.. lol... but I doubt it!

Those shirts are going to be so cute! I love stick figure Disney folk :) I have a family on the back of my van :)

I found out yesterday that my DH's cousins booked a trip for June just for themselves (they're 20 & 16)... ugh, seriously, JUNE?!? It's going to be crazy busy!!! and HOT!!! I told them they should've gone during free dining in August... at least get something out of the deal!

Here we are though! Only 50 MORE DAYS!!! Time is starting to really fly by now... I need to wrap presents & start getting everything in order.

May 17-23, staying at Pop Century and celebrating my 28th birthday (even though the vacation starts a day late). :cool1:

68 Days!! Luckily school has been keeping me occupied so time has been going fast. I hate it when I get so focused on the trip and it seems like it goes SO slow.

I'm continuously adding to the packing list. Still need to preorder photopass before 3/21 when the prices go up and find out where we are staying one night on the drive down there.

Can't wait until early May when I can hit up Forever 21 and buy a couple of cute Disney outfits to wear. They always have the most adorable Disney clothes/tank tops!

:dance3:

And not a moment too soon! Tomorrow was the 45 day mark! :scared1:

I hate waiting until the last minute to pay off the trip but that's the way the financial cookie crumbled this year.

WDW and EEC - Here...We....Come!! pixiedust:

Ive only got 9 weeks, but I want to lose some weight before I wear a bathing suit in public!

I wanted to lose weight before the baby's first birthday (this past Wednesday) so I had roughly 9-10 weeks from the beginning of the year to do so. I started going to Zumba at least twice a week and eating just a little bit better and voila! I am down 20lbs. :cool1: Aiming for another ten before our trip. :goodvibes

Truthfully, I'm more concerned with blinding people with my paleness than my heftiness. :rotfl:

Congrats on your weightloss! :D

I'm Italian, so I get a very dark tan... but my fiance is very, very pale. We got the highest grade sun tan lotion we could find. Poor guy. He never tans, he just turns red.

I'm Hispanic and tan easily, but my poor legs haven't seen the light of day in about 2 years! I was a few months post-partum last summer and the last thing I was going to do was wear a bathing suit. :rotfl: My BF on the other hand, although also Hispanic, is a freckly thing. He burns VERY easily. Fortunately, our girls have my skin but I still bathe them in SPF 50. BF has no option but to get in line so I can lather him in it too. :goodvibes

My family asked me to design a logo for our Family Reunion shirts, so here it is. :D They wanted stick figures. :rotfl: It's going to be white, printed on a blue shirt. I'll post pics when they're made.

59 days! :hippie:

I need to design shirts, but have no idea what to do......:(

We changed our dates again, and now we are flying instead of driving. I found a pretty good deal on airfare and so I'm happy with the change, but not sure what do about packing. I'm used to having a minivan and all that space to work with, not the one little carryon each it's looking like we'll get. :lmao::scared1::rolleyes1 I guess we'll figure it out!

69 Days and counting, coming on 5/26-6/9

What are you Celebrating?

We are celebrating DH and I belated wedding anniversary :lovestruc

Are you a pin collector?

No not a pin collector as of yet, but plan to.

What is your first full day plan?

The kids want to go to MK the first full day

What Resort did you pick and why?

We are staying at ASMu the first week 5/26-6/2 and then off property for the next couple of days. We chose this resort because we wanted to have that experience of staying on property. This will be our DD 2nd time visiting and she is 15 yrs old and our 19 yr old DD this is her 3rd time.

What is your #1 Tip for 1st time visitors?

The #1 tip for 1st time visitors would be to have as much magical fun as you can.

Will you drive/fly or take the train to WDW?

We are driving from ATL

Hello all! I think i posted here when we first learned about our trip but I have no had time to DIS at all this semester, but the trip is getting closer and closer so I'm trying to make more of an effort!

We will be heading down to Florida May 18, and we are cruising from the 18 to the 23! It is our first cruise! I am travelling with my boyfriend, his brother and his girlfriend, and his mom and dad, and my boyfriends aunt, who has worked for Disney for 30 years! (love her discounts!) After we come back from the cruise we are in disney from the 23 to the 27 staying at old key west. This will be my 25th trip to disney, but first time staying at old key west!

this is probably the first trip in a long time i havent obsessivly planned. Usually we at least know what parks we are going to, if not what we are doing every single minute, but I have had no time to plan and my boyfriends father is planning the trip so i try not to get involved when thats the case. I also recently found out i am lactose intolerant and have been dealing with some health problems so i'm quite nervous for this trip

hope to be able to spend some time around here and get to know you all!

Woowoo!! We're May trippers!!

Surprise three-way split stay at the end of May/beginning of June!!

May 26-28: AKV-Kidani
May 28-30: SoG
May 30-June 4: BC CL

We did a Toy Story 3 Theme night last night :goodvibes It was lots of fun!!! Heres the link to my PTR if you'd like to check it out - it's on page 11...
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=43597519#post43597519

We also did a Cars 2 theme night awhile back and a Dr. Seuss & Cat in the Hat night too (We are also visiting Universals). Next up will be the last movie in the Harry Potter series.

Theme nights are SOOO much FUN!!! It really helps to pass the time away until we go.

Just for fun, I'll answer the questions, too!! Ok, ok...I pretty much just love talking about the trip since I can't talk about it with the kids!! ;)

What are you Celebrating?
We'll be in Epcot on my grandparents' 55th anniversary (also celebrated their 51st at Animal Kingdom), and DS's birthday is a couple days after we return, so we're also celebrating his birthday. DNiece's birthday is in July, but I booked a special breakfast just for her, too.

Are you a pin collector?
I'm a pin collector in that I have a small collection of pins, but I don't look for specific ones, I don't pay attention to rarity and I pretty much just buy what's pretty.

What is your first full day plan?
For some reason, we keep ending up at AK on our first day. Just the way the EMHs fall, I guess. I haven't made any other plans that day because we're also staying at AKV for the first time, so we're using the evening to soak up the resort.

What Resort did you pick and why?
I chose AKV because the kids have been asking to try it, and it's my mission to stay at all the deluxes by 2015, so it's another check on the list. I also think hanging out on our balcony and watching the animals will be fantastic. My gparents and mom wanted to stay at SoG again, so I booked that for them. It's also really easy on the budget. Our two nights at SoG are cheaper than any one night during the rest of our trip. I chose BC for SAB, Epcot proximity and because it's my second favorite resort. It's also been on our list to have the Kitchen Sink, so if we're staying at BC, there's not excuse not to do it!!

What is your #1 Tip for 1st time visitors?
Planning is really, really important on that first trip, but so is the ability to throw the plans out the window. :)

Will you drive/fly or take the train to WDW?
My mom, the kids and I fly down to Orlando, and my grandparents leave several days before we do and roadtrip it with a few of their own sight seeing stops along the way. They also tote our luggage for us so we don't have to worry about it (or the fees).

We prepurchased the photo cd twice and definately don't regret it. Be sure to ask if the photographer about magic shots. We found that some weren't trained to do them or couldn't do them with a tri-pod, but we also found many who could! They are fun to have in the collection of pictures too!
Good Morning! In all the times I have been to Disney, I never utilized the photo pass. Do you think it is worth paying ahead of time?

My main thing is, I see prints are only .19 a piece. That is the same I pay at Target. Can I just use the photopass without paying ahead of time and get the .19 cent prints when I get back?

Thanks for your help! This is one thing I am not an expert on when it comes to Disney :)

From what I have read if you order the prints from the photopass site you can get your PERSONAL pictures for 19 cents, but if you were to order a picture the disney photog took you are looking at 2 4x6 prints for $14.95. Buying the CD gets you the rights to all your pictures that were taken by the Disney photographers so you can print them from whereever you choose. If you order the CD after your visit, then you will be paying the $169 price which doesn't include a photo book. If you pre-order the CD you pay just $99 (or $149 for the CD and the book)
