Official May 2009 Thread....The wait is on!!

Whoo Hooo!!! finally under 60 days. Now I need to repay the trip. :eek:When I changed the ressies they refunded the past pmt. Now I just keep putting it off, maybe I'll go do it now. That is a good idea!!!
I'm so excited I can't wait May is not coming fast enough.:rolleyes1

Yeehaww! Paid off trips are the best! Now I have to pay my taxes! But i have almost a whole month to do that. Unlce Sam will get his on April 15 and not before!

I don't blame you! Until direct deposit came along he took 8 weeks to refund any money.

IT'S PAID IN FULL!;) again. Now I just need to pack and save money to spend and eat with.

We've changed our ADRs just slightly. We aren't really breakfast people and we didn't really want to waste an ADR at Crystal Palace just because we had an extra credit, especially considering how early that ADR was. We also didn't like how early our Brown Derby reservation was (even if it was also tied into Fantasmic) and FH wasn't really excited about their menu.

So...

We canceled our ADR for Crystal Palace and decided to just keep that credit in case we decided we were randomly hungry at some point. We also canceled Brown Derby and replaced it with Yachtsman's Steakhouse. We'll have a slightly later dinner, but should still be able to get back to HS in plenty of time for Fantasmic.

I'm really concerned about our Le Cellier reservation. It's the Saturday we leave. Our reservation is for 11:45am and our flight leaves at 4:00pm. If our coach really does pick us up 3 hours before our flight, that only leaves us one hour and fifteen minutes to be seated, eat, and get back to the resort. I just don't think that's doable. :scared:

I'm so torn. I really want to keep that reservation, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to cancel it and find something else, but I have no idea what else to consider. I really, really want to go to a park that morning though. :sad2:

Yeah to paid off trips!!!
We paid ours off today too. I am so glad we did the dining plan. Even if we come close to even it is worth it to me for it to be paid for too.
I cannot wait and my family is getting sick of me talking about it. Thank goodness for the DIS

I get the eye roll everytime I bring Disney up. I know I have said it before, but I really think I'm the only one happy about going. DS2 is excited, but he gets excited with everyone's excitement over anything. DS16 informed us the other day he want to go to the beach instead (go figure) I told him he could save me some money and stay home w/his grandparents --didn't go for that one--lol.
If didn't have ya'll I would burst.

I'm so going to burst too. My kids have NOOOO idea we're going. No clue at all. :rolleyes1
I should have done it that way too. I'm sure they will be excited once we get there. Now, do we go in one car (rent a van) or two cars. DH, me & DS2 in one; and DD, DDBF, and DS16 in the other. I think sanity will prevail better with the latter.

We'll be there for May 2-7 and then DCL May 7-10. This is our 4th family trip, but my 15th! We are bringing my in-laws for their first trip ever. Can't wait!

We have 39 days and I'm going out of my skin! I can't wait to get my Mickey mail :) Our ADR's are made, plane tickets are paid for, I've got the Photopass share going, I'm in a fridge swap... I think I'm good to go. I even have DD's princess dresses for our meals. (Thank goodness she likes dressing up!)

Ohhhh the waiting!! It hurts!! :scared:

Dining plan is the only way to go. Yes, it is a hastle trying to get ADRs and then be where you are supposed to be when you are supposed to be there but the last time we used the dining plan , our group (11 of us, I think) ate at places we generally would not have eaten (too expensive at Disney prices after everything else we've spent there!) and we did some serious damage to Disney's bottom line that fiscal quarter :rotfl: Infact, right after we got back, they changed the plan to the one they use now (no gratuity and no appetizers, or whatever it is).

It is just one less thing to have to come up with money for because you have already paid for it. But I am sure it doesn't work for everyone.:)

We were going to do the big reveal in the Airport but I was super scared security would throw us out. :rotfl: After I figured it would be best for us to rent a limo - we're going to do it there. DH will get them to go potty and I'll run out and put their car-seats in and put info on their car seats for them to open! :wizard:

Yeah, we had an episode on one of our trips when my daughter's best friend's son (8 or 9 at the time) realized he was going to have to get on the plane and fly to Florida. Don't ask me, I guess he thought a bird was going to give him a ride? :lmao: In the line to board, this kid started crying, (really loud almost hysterical) insisting he wasn't getting on the plane, insisting it was going to crash, going to get hijacked, etc etc etc. I just started inching away to another place in line and acted like I had never seen these loons in my life :rotfl: In case they got thrown off, I sure didn't want to be seen with them!:rotfl2: I had somewhere I needed to be and this certainly wasn't the happiest place on earth!
He finally calmed down enough to get on the plane, started watching a movie and was just fine! Thank godness! The return flight was no problem! But man, that first flight I was starting to really worry :scared1::scared1:

Yikes, I would be real nervous about those reservations on your last day as well. I personally would use that ADR another day (early lunch and late dinner somewhere). That is really cutting it close and I hate to mess with anything with a flight! You can still go to the park that day and not have an ADR, just eat CS that day. Just my opinion!

Ohh and since I am just throwing my opinions out there hubby and I ate ate at Italy and Coral Reef one day while on our honey moon...MMMM it was filling but oh so worth it!

same here. Well the boys know that we are going at some time but I keep acting like it's a ways off and it's so hard to do stuff and not talk about it around them. We are doing the big reveal at the airport, parking lot. It will be around 5 am so not sure how long it will take for it to sink in for them.

We are at 1 month and 1 week and 2 days. I am more than thrilled. I want to have the boys mostly packed (can't do the socks and undies) when I go to my parent Easter so I can leave that bag there.

Talking about DS and other's not sharing the same excitement I know what you mean. DS and parents are excited but I know they get sick of hearing from me about it. The other day we were watching Big Bang Theory and Sheldon was going on about some subject and DS says that when I talk abut Disney I sound like Sheldon. He tried to say it was cute but I was kind of offended b/c on the show Sheldon annoys every one w/ his know-it-all-ness

YEAH!!!!

I just paid for our May trip in full...we will be at the Beach Club from May 12th - 22nd.

I am so excited - my 6 yr old can not stop talking about Disney - he tells everyone he sees about his trip. :thumbsup2

I hope time goes by fast - we need this vacation!

We are going May 23-30 staying at POP!! Celebrating DD high school graduation!!!!

Okay I am really bummed out! :sad2:Weather forecast for this weekend is SNOW! yes, you read that right, SNOW! Up to a foot in the panhandle (that's not near us but it is really bad for them) and 2-3 inches here in the middle of the state! Now, that wouldn't be so bad but my flowers are all up, buds on them, blooms on many and there is no way I can cover all these ( we live in the country on an acreage and I have flower beds on every side of my house as well as all over my back yard!). :headache: This really makes me wish I lived in Florida.
How many days until my trip? Can I really make it that long?:sad1:
