"Official" March 09 thread Who Else???

Yes, it is possible.

However I recommend you call back and try for the Norway restaurant, Akershus. It's the same amount of princesses, a 'castle' like setting inside. That's where we chose to go with my 3 year old daughter last summer- she LOVED it. We had Belle, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine and Alice as our 'princesses'. You get a photo package.

Also, 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian has dinner with Cinderella, her stepsisters, her step mother and the prince.

You can also meet the princesses for FREE in Toon Town in the Judges Tent. There are always 3 main princesses there- go first thing in the AM. We have seen the combo of Belle/Cindy/Sleeping Beauty and the Belle/Cindy/Snow trios the two times we've done it. One last tip- the princesses are often around the Epcot World showcase in the late morning/early afternoon. We met Jasmine in Morocco, Sleeping Beauty in France, Mary Poppings/Alice in UK and Snow White in Germany the last trip. princess:

I agree with everything you said!

Don't worry, OP (not OOP, but OP who wanted CRT...KWIM? :lmao: ), WDW is just as magical without eating in the castle. It also gives you a reason to go back. :thumbsup2

P.S. Check out the March ADR trade/cancel/wanted thread over on the dining board. I used the December thread and saw a few CRT cancellations. The canceller just give the ADR confirmation number to the wantee. The wantee calls Disney Dining and puts the ADR under his/her name. Easy peasy. Again, though, your DD will be perfectly content if she doesn't eat in the castle. Heck, there's even magic in the McD's on DTD!! :upsidedow

thanks Alice and Snow White.

All is well. I booked at the Princess Lunch at Norway. woohoo! She will love it, PLUS it is much more convenient since we are staying at the Dolphin.

:cool1:

So glad it worked out. I was just about to reply, but I see our fellow Dis'ers beat me to it. But I'd have said the same things. Have a great time!

Fabulous! You will enjoy it. My daughter still doesn't even know you can eat in the castle, and I plan on keeping it that way until we actually eat there!

Now that THAT crisis is solved....on to the next crisis....

I booked an appointment at the Bippity Boppity Boutique for DD (4). But she has a short haircut...a cute little chin-length bob.
Will they be able to give her a princess hair-do with short hair? Or should I just cancel that appointment and save the money???

TIA!

I'm ready to be in WDW NOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!

OK, back to the chatter...

Not sure about BBB, I'm a stylist, so I did DNiece's princess makeovers. DS wasn't interested. :rotfl:

I am sooooooo ready to be there too!!!

It is so expensive though. How does everyone afford to go so often? Even with our plane tix being free (skymiles) and some of the hotel paid for (DH's conference), it is still going to cost an arm and a leg.

I've heard that people book in advance and pay it off before they go. How do they do that? Do they put it on a disney card?

Can you tell I want to get this figured out so we can go again next year????

Well, the kids' first trip cost almost $5,000. We did it all because I had no idea if we'd be back...well, ten months later I'm on trip #3 since then. We went again in December, and this March will be a grown-ups only trip. We plan to go again in October. The subsequent trips didn't/doesn't/won't cost as much as the first one. We stayed at SoG for the first half of our December trip, and I had a 40% code for YC during the second half. I booked the 4/3 deal for March, and we'll be using the military offers ($99 tix and 40% room) in October. These are running in the $2,000 range which I don't consider too expensive.

We don't do the DDP. My grandparents have vacationed with us each time, and they drive. They like to stay at the base in Jacksonville, and they load up on groceries for the week there. We never have to buy bottled water and hardly have to buy other beverages because we bring in a small cooler. We only did three TS meals in December, and I've only got three planned this time.

I spent two weeks in Europe for $2500, so considering time (we stay a 7-8 days in Disney), Disney's not as good of a deal, but in the big picture, the trip isn't too expensive.

We own our house and cars, so aside from a few bills, a good bit of our paychecks are for play. I pay off my Disney Visa in full (no paying interest!!!), and I love to find bargains!! Much better than when I first graduated high school and bought anything the looked at me with flirty eyes.

Other than that...stay value, off season, bring food. :thumbsup2

we will be there march 26-31st. It's the first trip for my mom and my daughter. YIPPPEEE!! I'm getting more and more excited every day. Especially since the weather stinks here right now!

Gotta quick story....

Due to the economy, we were not planning another trip to Disney for a couple years. My husband was force to take a serious cut in pay or resign.:guilty:

So I had put away any thought of Disney! :sad1:

Lo and behold, we get a flier in mail inviting our family back to Disney. I almost threw it out when I opened it. OMG..

If we paid for the "parents" tickets, my girls would be free! Huh!!

Okay, I thought...What's the catch? Well, of course, you have to come during a certain. I showed DH and we talked about it for a couple days. I called Disney to get the actual prices and what not....

To cut to the end of the story, we will be heading to Disney on March 29, 2009 and heading home on April 3, 2009. My daughters are staying, playing and eating at Disney for FREE. I can't believe that. The money that would have paid for the girls, is the money that we are using to fly instead of driving. We will be staying at the POP. We stayed there on our last trip in 2007 and it was decent.

I just thought that I would share that with y'all. We had hit a hard patch in out life and this vacation is well needed and deserved.

Oh and P.S--We aren't telling the girls until we get to the airport that morning!

That's awesome! I'm so glad you are getting to go and sounds like it is a much needed trip of Disney magic! pixiedust:

Hope it is your best trip ever!

We got that one, too!! So, I've gotten that one and the 40% in the last month. They must really want us to go to WDW. Here's the catch...we went twice last year and are going twice this year. There goes any theories I had on how they distribute codes.

I can't believe I get to add our family to this thread. We just decided to try a last minute trip. Staying offsite for first time (as the parent). We are staying in a vacation home March 1-7. What are crowds/weather like that week? Now off to plan and tell the kids.:cheer2:

The crowds were pretty low that week last year. It's not Presidents week - never again - and still not spring break. It was pretty perfect although one night was quite cold. Have a great time.

I can hardly stand it that we are getting so close!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The next few weeks better fly by.

Today I had my car serviced, new tires put on, etc. So my car is ready for the drive. And my DH finally put my disney family stickers on the back of my van. We look like definite tourists now!!! LOL!!
