*****Official (??) June 2014 Thread -- Party Like It's Hot!*****

Well, maybe she would like just a clear sparkle polish over it. Or at the very least, color in the groove around the MH.

I plan on doing that for her at the very least. She said she has a bunch of left over nail polish colors we can use but she doesn't want hers to be super decked out and "gaudy".

Get into EPCOT and the World Showcase, and you can find characters with short lines in the countries they come from. Fiesta Donald in Mexico, Mulan in China, Belle and the Beast (Marie, too) in France.....

Does Beast really meet in France again? Last I knew he was only available after dinner at Be Our Guest and Belle met alone in France. (Or Aurora, I've not seen Marie there.) He is the only character left on my original Disney Character Bucket List.

Hrm. Well, according to Kenny the Pirate, you're right. We saw Beast in Epcot several times, but I suppose it was all before BOG.

Marie, we've met twice in Epcot. The above website also says she's now a regular in MK. Change. Le sigh. At any rate, the website can help you find elusive characters. I'll be spending some time with DD going over the site and making a list of "must see" (or really would like to see) characters for our trip.

We got back from our trip yesterday. It was an amazing time! We ate at CRT for the first time. It was so magical! I was so impressed by the characters, the theming, and the food. I would definitely do it again! We also experienced our first SWW. Again an awesome experience! Loved the characters we met! The kids had an amazing time! We ate at the sci if diner for the Star Wars breakfast. It was delicious! Loved seeing the Star Wars movies on The big screen. The Star Wars fireworks were the best I have ever seen! The water parks were a first also for us. They were so much fun! I thought june crowds were very manageable throughout our trip. We also were lucky to have nice weather the whole week. Our last day it started getting pretty hot, but nothing that a yummy dole whip couldn't fix! It was hard leaving WDW. My daughter shed some tears and said she wished she could live there! I totally understand where she is coming from! Her aspirations now are to be one of the performers at disney!
I hope everyone has a magical trip! I know we did!

Drat, I was hoping Kenny had updated and you knew some secret I didn't. :guilty: When I was a kid we'd see Beast and Belle in France like you said, but my Dad would never let us stop even though they were my favorites. To him it was only worth meeting the Fab Five. :sad2:

Definitely use KtP's site to make your list! With the help of his information, I was able to make up our lack of character meets as kids for DSis last year. She/we met 30-40 some characters (I'll have to check her autograph book) with only one character meal over the course of a week.

Hey everybody!

My wife son and I arrived at Orlando yesterday at 4pm, got our rental car and went to costco to get drinks and snacks then to our hotel room! Went to downtown Disney last night and got our disney magic bands since we aren't stayin on disney property.

Today was our first day for theme parks, we went to Animal Kingdom, got my memory maker linked to my magic band (I kept on debating whether or not to get the memory maker and after reading a bunch of reviews I got one a few days ago), I would say that the memory maker is really worth it, we did our fast passes for the safari, exp Everest, and dinosaur. For our memory maker we took pictures with dug, Donald, daisy, Mickie, and Minnie, we got our ride pictures with Everest and dinosaur and we got a picture with the tree of life and with Everest mountain, all the pictures came out great. They take bout 3-4 pictures of your group. Left the park around 4pm.

Tomorrow we are doing Hollywood studios :) if anyone wants to add me on Instagram add me @paulryanr. I will use hashtags #wdwjune2014 starting tomorrow :)

How does Instagram work exactly. I was thinking of looking in to it before our trip. Are there any benefits to using it?
Instagram is a program just for sharing pictures. Like Twitter, but pictures instead of 140 characters.

I've been checking the wait times through the mde app and they don't look too bad so far. I know its still early June but I seem to recall crazy wait timed last year first week of July so I'm hoping that maybe this could be a good sign. Maybe FP+ is actually turning out have pretty positive effects.

DH is ADDICTED to checking wait times. At least a few times a day I get "Hey babe, POC's wait time is only 10 minutes!" etc.

I don't get autographs, especially since it is just DH and I now. I do like pictures with them especially to put up in my classroom. The preschoolers like to see that I met Minnie Mouse, etc. But if the line is long we don't wait. It seems like you have to be more intentional to meet characters at WDW. Like make a point to go to a character spot. At DLR we just stop if we are walking by someone standing there with not much line. Seems like that may not happen as much at WDW.

Kenny the Pirate has a website and a smartphone app that is super accurate. When we had a short amount of time to kill last trip we would use the app to look up characters nearby for the kids. We met over 50 characters (with repeats in different places) last trip in 4 days!

I'm so glad to hear you had a great trip. We've only got 5 days left. The anticipation is killing me. We are on the fence about staying for the SWW fireworks, I feel like we might need to now though. DH is a huge Star Wars fan. We'll have our 5 and 2 year olds with us though and we thought staying that late might be a bit much for them. Maybe I'll just head back with DS2 and he can have a Star Wars bonding moment at the fireworks with DS5. :confused3 Too many options for fun!!!

P.S. I'm SO jealous of your CRT experience. It's just me and a bunch of boys so going there wasn't on anyone else's radar. :( Oh well, maybe I'll get to do it one day.

I think it was our first trip with DD where we saw Beast. Belle gave DD a kiss on the forehead, and that lipstick mark stayed for a while. (Or was that Snow White... maybe both?) I know we've seen him since then lined up, but we've not stopped to see him. Terrible that they limit for that. Just like A&E...there should be a few more spots open for them, as popular as they've been.

I just read this morning that now MK rope drop is being done differently. CMs are walking down Main Street holding a rope so you can't just rush out and run down Main Street, trying to be the first in line for A&E (in effort to keep people from getting hurt, of course.)

Instagram is a photo sharing app that allows you to put filters on your pics and posts them to Facebook and twitter for you. It's a lot of fun! I'm looking forward to using it on my trip. I'm @bassclarinetgrl there as well.

Love the little reports! Can't wait to hear more!

I'm the lone female in my family too. We normally go to DLR and I've only been able to get my twin boys' a picture with Mickey. And one went up to Sleeping Beauty for pic when she was just standing outside her castle all alone one day. The other stayed about 10 feet away. That was at age 6. They would not go near characters ever again. My niece just turned 3 and I keep saying how we need to take her to a princess meal.

Thanks. I think I'll have to have my boys help me with this.

AND... I'm in single digits today!!!!

Happy 80th Birthday, Donald Duck! :D

:donald::donald::donald:

Just popped in to say the same thing about Donald! :thumbsup2

Has anyone seen a video of that, yet? I thought Josh at easyWDW did but can't remember. We plan on heading up as far as the hub then dashing for Space Mountain before our 7DMT FP+. If it works then we'll hopefully hit all four mountains before lunch. Anyone else have strategies?

I haven't, and someone in one of the Facebook groups I'm in said she ran to get there and only had a 30 minute wait this morning. If you're at the front of the group, though, you should still be able to take off to Space Mountain.

We don't really go with too many strategies. We plan to do one side of MK on one day, then the other on the other day. Although, our day 2 is going to be interrupted with BBB and an afternoon ADR at the GF, but, I'm still hoping Daigon Alley will be open and will draw crowds to that other place...

I'd love to hear strategies as this is all new to me. For example, we have a 9:05-10:05am FP for TT at Epcot. Since we have until 10am to use it, where should we head first at rope drop? Since we've done Soarin a lot at DLR, not interested in having it be our first ride ever at WDW. Any ideas? And we have Spaceship Earth FP at 10:10.

Our plans:

Plan on catching the train over to Frontier Land from the front gate, then getting in line for BTMR. We'll do that side of the park and then after a lunch time snack, go to Tomorrow Land. We have ADR at Crystal Palace at 3pm. Finish that and then go to the Flag Retreat ceremony. Off to Fantasy..with FP+ for the Dwarfs...

At Animal Kingdom, we're heading to Dino Land first and do the circle from there.

Epcot, we'll spend quite a bit of time in Future World. Last time we were in Innoventions and DH was pulled up on stage for the Velcro show. It was great! popcorn:: He had to race against another dad to diaper baby dolls. the Diapers were all velcro, then grab the baby off the conveyor belt and velcro him/her onto his apron. I found out I was pregnant a few days later. My entire pregnancy, we used the catch phrase "What's your problem? Use Velcro!"

Then we will snack around the countries.

At first I was really trying to cram everything in to these few days. I know it's impossible, but I sure was trying. But now I have quite a few of "seek characters and meet them" times. We have made a final decision on where the Forever House will be. Forget Texas and Galveston, even though we will always love it there. We are moving to Orlando! Not until after summer 2016, but that's settled. Soon enough we will be able to just pop in and say hello to Mickey Mouse any day.

Got sidetracked from the plans question-- I am about to add a ticket and new FP+ to the party so this may all be changed by this afternoon. :lmao: Neither of the DSons can attend due to school and work, but DS19's girl friend will come along.

Happy Monday everyone!!

That's tricky. TT and Soarin' are the big RD draws at Epcot. There aren't really any other attractions that get busy that quick, except maybe SSE. I would say you could do Livin' with the Land, but you'd have to travel in the Soarin' rush and that's probably not worth it. You could head for Mission Space? Or The Seas, but that's continuously loading so it doesn't ever get too bad.

Ok, then maybe we will just use that time to not rush anywhere but kind of get oriented. Maybe we can head for TT and if standby isn't long, do that, then do our FP. If it is long we'll just go ahead and use our FP first. At least the FP will help us not have to rush at rope drop to somewhere in a park we've never been in.
