*****Official (??) June 2014 Thread -- Party Like It's Hot!*****

I would reserve now and not wait for invite.

I'm doing both lunch and dinner. You can pick your room at lunch.

I would reserve for full party. Probably easier to subtract than add a member.

I think your plans look great. :thumbsup2 You have picked some of my favorite places to eat at Disney. My only question is why do you have park hoppers if you aren't planning to park hop? ;)

Since it is my parents first time I'm not sure what they will really enjoy. I got hoppers in case we spend 10 minutes in a park and say "this is boring let's go to ______" or if we don't do all we want at magic or Epcot we can go back and do those if we want. I like paying extra for the flexibility option :)

Why not go over to AK Lodge and try Boma for dinner? It's a really unique buffet. Sometimes we do that - leave AK around 4, dinner at Boma and then you can hop to MK to see fireworks or go to whichever park has late hours, or better yet, go to your resort and lounge by the pool. Oh, walking around AK Lodge is fun too - see the animals, visit the shop. Sounds like a great trip you have planned!

Hmmm I never considered dinner at another resort that night. We might do that or maybe go to DtD. I also like that idea of park hopping for fireworks again. Or go back to magic an ride rides during fireworks. Thanks you've given me a lot to think about

I would also say Kouzzina at Boardwalk. The Boardwalk area is nice and the food at Kouzzina is great, IMO. Same thing in terms of hopping back to a park- DHS and Epcot are a walm or boat ride away. MK is a bus ride away.

MICKEY BANDS just arrived today! How cool is that.

Same! When my spouse texted me I may have let out a demented squealing noise. At work.

The kids have been "planning" by watching Disney movies. Apparently watching Snow White several times is a good way to "be ready for the Mine Train". I don't even know. Anyway, we have a countdown calendar on the fridge, and the last thing they do before going to bed is cross off a day. We're at 25!

Lol I just told my 7 year old son that we needed to watch Snow White so he knew who the characters are in the ride. We have 2 fast passes for it on our upcoming trip. So it's not just your kids :). We have 21 days and I have already set stuff aside for packing!

LOL! One of mine is 7 as well. He's my anxious one, so anything that makes him excited is okay by me. (My four year old, on the other hand, is furious that he is too short for Space Mountain and EE.)

I've started packing as well! The pool won't be open until after we get back and I can't really wear shorts to work, so I figured, might as well take advantage.

I want to pack but today it is 90 out, I am in Alabama so except heat in Florida if you are not in the South!

It's only 55º here. Last night at the track meet it was 51º, blustery, and misty. We wore winter coats and had blankets on. One by one schools decided to call it a night and go home early.

We take heat pretty well- we only have window a/c and only turn it on at night when it's really hot and we can't rely on country breezes- but if it doesn't warm up here soon we will not be ready for FL!

Last time we went in June it was 90's and humid in Iowa the two weeks leading up to our trip, and for some reason I can't recall, we didn't even have the window a/c in at that time. We went to FL pretty well acclimated.

Three weeks from today we will be on the plane. Wish we were arriving earlier- we land at 8:30 pm, but SW hasn't priced those earlier flights at a low enough point value to make them worthwhile.

I am in NJ but used to visit FL relatives in July, so have an idea what to expect! (How I will handle it, of course, is another story altogether. Ha! Things are much different when you're the mom and not in the pool all day.)

It's going to hit TRIPLE DIGITS in L.A. on Thursday, so I keep reminding myself, "Right, take this, add about 60% humidity...and you've got your WDW trip."

By the way, guess who's got two thumbs and her Magic Bands arrived today?

THIS DISER!

It's next month people! That sounds so much better than next year!

And not sure if it has been posted on here or if anyone has seen it, but June park hours for MK and AK were extended a couple of days ago. Calling all night owls :cool1:

I just noticed that today. MK EMHS on our first night, June 22, have been extended to 3a.m. We have a morning planned at AK, rest and pool back at the BC, then dinner at the Cali Grill at 7:30. It will be a long day. Then we are scheduled for the 9am RD of HS the next day, so...we shall see. It's our first visit and everyone says that the MK is even more magical during those early morning hours. We are young at heart, but we are past the 55 speed limit. I'm not sure we can make it to 3, or even midnight.

Added my ADRs to the Google Doc and now I'm looking to see if the park hours have been extended for any of my days. :goodvibes

LOL I have been in Alabama since 95 and I still hate the humidity! Although I am glad it's warm and not cold now. We leave in 21 days and I can't wait!

I know how you feel! Deep South Texas here (it's closer to leave the COUNTRY than leave the STATE). Right now we got a bit of a cool snap and it is 70 degrees! :-O

I am new here and this is my first post. We arrive June 13 and I wanted to share that I was able to get fast pass+ for both MSEP, FOF, and Wishes just now. Just wanted to share for those that have been waiting for those!:cool1:

So woke up to low 30's and snow here in the desert of New Mexico. My daughter was so upset, I just told her to keep saying to herself "It's 90 in Orlando, it's 90 in Orlando."

We are less than 16 days out, so getting very close.

We will be there. On the off chance that you happen to spot us, you can identify me by my Disboards Tigger tag on my backpack. Those super late EMH are awesome!

I don't know if that makes things feel better or worse :rotfl2: but I feel your pain ... still waiting for summer too!

So last night was exciting in our house. Look what we got….

3 puppies!! 2 girls and a little boy. The tan one is still a Scottish Terrier, it's just wheaton in color.

We did lose 2 but I'm grateful that the other 3 are healthy and so is Mom.

We will enjoy them before our vacation, and then they go to the "great grandparents" house for babysitting while we are gone. I'm sure that we will be happy to be on our trip, but I bet we are some of the first ones that will be happy to go home.

I'm one tired "grammy", but happy! :yay:
