I need to catch up with everyone! I'm just now posting on this thread, but we are headed back to Disney June 8-14!! Woohoo!! And Yes, it is with our HS Band again... this time it is DS16 (last one) that will be marching down Main Street before the evening parade! These trips are so much fun (and emotional!). I cry every time! Look for me - I have my green MickeyHead name tag tied on my bag. If you see me, say HI!

We have been having a heat wave here, temps in the upper 90's to 100. I have to say, I don't mind it. I kind of like it. I wish I could say it is getting me ready for Florida, but it isn't. We have no humidity so it can't compare.

I was there in march when our high school band got to march and I got to chaperone. My first disney trip was as a band kid (but we didn't march just did a contest) and my other 2 trips were as a chaperone because I now teach at the high school I graduated from. But this summer I am taking my
parents on their first trip to disney!

This is my 5th trip, (3rd with 'the band') - Our HS band marches during the parade (no contests - we travel quite a bit during marching season for those!) and the rest of the week is fun time! Love these trips! Love Band Programs!

The heat and humidity will be waiting for us in the Mid-Atlantic 95 corridor when we return..oh joy.

Maybe I'll pre-game for our trip by working out in the sauna..

WDW with or without the heat is still the happest place on Earth..

Best Disney Story: Four years ago I went to WDW with my friend and her kids. We were family of the day and opened the park! Very awesome! This is the picture we took in the now demolished toon town with all the characters.
What do you look forward to most on your next trip? Spending some quality time with my dad and reliving a lot of old memories.

(I'm in Tampa Bay area.) We woke up to "cold" this morning- low 60s! We walked out and my daughter was like "OMG it's cold!" HA! It's 67 now, but high is supposed to be 80. We'll be in the 90s again by next weekend. I'm hoping for an uncharacteristically cold first couple of weeks of June.

When we got married in 2009, we put our honeymoon off until October, hoping it would be cooler. The week we went was a heat wave- it didn't get below 95 the whole time. So, I think a cooler June would make up for it.

I need to start a packing list. Can't forget those magic bands! We never did make a countdown- girls have been too busy with track. I don't know if they'll make one now or not- we're at 17 or 18 days now!

The time is going to continue to fly by until vacation! DD15 just found out she's going to State Track competition next week! So track is not over after all- more running to do!

oldschoolfigmentluvr, LOVE your photo! That's something none of you will ever forget. I feel sad when I look at our old pictures of Toontown, including the ones of DD on her first trip, completely enthralled with Minnie's kitchen. I wish they could have found a spot for them somewhere. They had a place in so many of our hearts, so why not make a place in Fantasyland?!

You can check on MDE and it will give you a tracking number. Should be 4-6 days after your last day.

We finally told our kids about our trip! This is their first trip and they are so excited! 15 days to go. I'm sure it's going to be the slowest 2 weeks ever.
