*****Official (??) June 2014 Thread -- Party Like It's Hot!*****

You know it's funny that I've never thought of it before. You would think there would be but I have never had a problem with insects in the parks or room before. I wouldn't worry about bringing repellent. You should be fine. I've been in June multiple times with no issues.

You know, I live in central Florida and there are times, I get swarmed with mosquitoes. But I never remember having this experience at WDW! I mean you get a few bites if you're out in the grassy areas or by the water at dusk, but not where they're buzzing incessantly around you.
Thanks for your posts. I guess insects are not problem if the topic hasn't been discussed before.

I think it is too funny that we both posted almost the same message at the exact same time. :)

We drive, it is just my son and I and I know it's crazy but we leave at 1 am and get in around 10 then go to Magic Kingdom! Wow, South Korea!! I would be to scared to go there, but what a great experience. Good Luck! What days are you all going to Disney, if you go?

That's not a bad idea though! That way you get there in the morning and can get some rest or a break in the afternoon. It's not like anyone gets much sleep the night before Disney anyway-- might as well get up and drive! :goodvibes

We will also go to the Magic Kingdom when we arrive in the afternoon and stay until they close at midnight. We'll be there June 3rd-8th, which is a Tues-Sun.

A lot of people have said the same thing regarding South Korea, and I am scared of course in that it will be a HUGE change. But also a great experience, like you said! I've applied for Seoul specifically. It looks like an incredible city!

I just got around to counting and realized that we are 88 days away from our Disney vacation. Doing my happy dance!!:woohoo:

Anyone else act on the discounts offered recently???
The discounts prompted huge changes in our plans. We went from a family suite at the Art of Animation, to a cabin at Fort Wilderness, to a one bedroom villa at Old Key West, and we finally ended up at a two bedroom villa at Old Key West. It is funny how saving almost $1000 turned into only $180 more then our original room un-discounted... :-)
Oh well, at least we now have a whirlpool tub, private patio, full kitchen, king bed, beds for everyone without using the pull-out beds, and a washer/dryer. The art of the up-sale is alive and well at Disney's reservation center :-)

Congrats to all who saved money!! :)

We decided not to take the promo. We are booked at POFQ - our fave resort. However, that's not included in the promo. We went to AAA to see what the price difference would be to change. While it would be a nice savings, it wasn't enough for us to want to give up POFQ.... soooooo..... we didn't change. I'm happy about it though, because last time at POFQ I felt like I was in my own personal paradise. :)

That's good to hear! We are staying at POFQ. I don't think there are any discounts for the last half of June anyway. But we chose this resort for several reasons and I don't think I would change it either.

This just might be the best week EVER...I won a really huge award at work (Monday) that includes a pretty sizable bonus so hubby and I decided to use some of it for a Bonus Trip to Disney. Then Tuesday, I got a PIN that lets us get the Beach Club for the week we wanted in June. The kids are going to be so excited when we tell them-- heck, I am excited. :goodvibes

Trip is planned 6/16 -6/22! Yippee!

We weren't able to use the summer discounts with our stay at AOA in the LM rooms, but also decided that we really want to stay there. I wish they would include those rooms, but we knew they probably wouldn't, so we planned for the normal price.

We are now in double digits and are so excited!!! :cool1:

Yes, there was one released yesterday. The dates are June 14 - sometime in August for the discounts. But, POFQ isn't included. We considered Riverside, but the discount wasn't big enough. Plus if you change to the discount, you have to pay the new ticket price. That is possibly why the discount wasn't as large as it might have been. We also go through AAA, so there is a bit of a discount already.

All the same, I know I'll be quite happy. :)

We weren't able to save. If we switched to 15-22 instead of 14-21 we could save or even upgrade to a better resort but DH doesn't want to drive back on Sunday and go back to work immediately the next day. :( It doesn't matter to me because I teach and will be off anyway. Oh well, it's just one less thing that I have to do to fix everything around and adjust ADRs for what feels like the 10 millionth time. :)

Getting close to the time for picking FP+, but I haven't figured out the system yet!:-( Any tips? We have 2 days at each park so we don't have to do everything in one day. Definitely want to use one pick for reserved spots for the new MK parade. I usually avoid parades because the waiting, spot selecting, rude people who stand in front of you anyway, etc. makes me crazy!, but everyone else is stoked for this parade. Hopefully reserved spots will make it bearable for me!

We have premier passes, so we only needed to pay for the room. We weren't completely sold on the family suite at Art of Animation, so changing resorts for a discount wasn't a big deal to us...

:wave2: Hello! Enjoy your time and don't take everything too seriously. Be sure and make your Table Service reservations.

Congratulations on your marriage! May you be blessed with happiness and understanding. :flower3:

DD decided to go with me, so no solo trip this time.
But we will have a great time.

Getting closer!!

Won't be long and some of us will be able to book FP+! My date is 4/9 I think. I'm not worried about doing that right away, except I might need to try for Anna & Elsa. So I might at least schedule 1 MK day to start with.

DDs are 15 and 12 but we have beens singing and quoting Frozen since we went to the theater. DD15 totally relates to Anna (and she thinks soup, roast, and ice cream sounds perfect for a wedding reception). And they have Anna & Elsa shirts. And they're sisters, so...we probably have to go :)

I had been thinking of getting FP for ETWB, but I don't really want to use 2 FP for characters. Since my kids are older, what do you think of doing ETWB fairly late at night?
