*****Official (??) June 2014 Thread -- Party Like It's Hot!*****

Hey all! Checking in for a minute! I'll be trying to update post #1 within the next couple of days. Spring break was week before last, but my computer crashed. It was a week ago Friday before Dell sent someone to replace the hard drive, and I still didn't have EVERYTHING back on it...that came around this past Thursday!

The first weekend of my spring break was consumed by dance recital pictures and selling Girl Scout cookies. DD sold almost 1200 boxes! (wow!) I took my Girl Scouts to the State Capitol for Girl Scout Advocacy Day (they got to sit in for a little bit on a legislative session and deliver cookies to legislators and we went to Build-a-Bear) the Thursday of my Spring Break. Then almost as soon as my computer was fixed that Friday, we were headed back to the same area for a dance competition. This past week has been busy at school. We went to Atlanta Saturday for Scout Day at Medieval Times (fun!) and next week is DD's Spring Break (joy that I get to work while everyone in the house can sleep in....)

The up-side to local Spring Break is that there is NO DANCE this week. I might have time after school to get something accomplished...except Thursday...when we will let our students out at 12:30 and the rest of us must stay until 7 or so that night (report card night!) I've got to go to the library one afternoon this week...and pick up another child because she's never been.

But I promise! I will work out some time to get this first post updated! :rotfl2: Don't give up on me yet! (And if anyone else goes every June...feel free to volunteer to step up and do next year's thread! Although, this has kept me checking in at least somewhat regularly and actually reading all the posts.... Hmm... Just feel sometimes like I'm not on enough to be "effective", if that makes any sense.)

Oh my goodness!! I just realized that I have been SOOO busy, that not only have I missed our 100 day mark, but we hit double digits about 10 days ago! :scared: 89 days and counting! (If I counted correctly!)

We are at 89 days today. There are apps that help you countdown the days. :-)

67 days to go! Took a day trip to Epcot yesterday on the comp tickets DD16 got for performing at Candlelight with her choir. Don't know if it was because of Spring Break or Flower and Garden or a combination of the 2 but it was busy! We didn't even try for any of the headliners, and those centralized FP+ distribution lines seemed awful. We actually waited 20 min for SE and Living with the Land. Maelstrom wait was up to 70 min! We caught a glimpse of Anna and Elsa as they were walking to their Norway M&G. My DS8 said, "Did you see, Mommy, Elsa waved to me!" He was more disappointed that I was not waiting in that line than my DDs! Despite the crowds, we had a great day. The flowers, topiaries, and butterfly garden were lovely. They added little kiosks like at Food & Wine with sampler size foods which we enjoyed, especially the handrolled sushi in Japan (which was rice, carrots, a ginger sauce, and a piece on panko chicken wrapped in a crisp seaweed- not your usual sushi, and the Florida stand's kumquat pie-kind of a cross between sour orange and lime in a sugar cookie crust topped with meringue.

70 days from today I will been arriving at Disney right about now!! POP Century resort here we come!!! Last time we were there was Thanksgiving 2012. We usually go every year so this feels like a long time!! June 2-6!!

We have never been to wdw in June before. is it going to be terribly crowded? I will most likely have a touring plan and get all of our fast passes ahead of time. we will be there the 12th-19th. ON the crowd calendar Father's Day looks lower for some reason. so that might be a good day to get a lot done:)

Favorite Disney Character: Chip and Dale, Anna and Elsa, Rapunzel and Eugene.
Favorite Disney Movie: Tangled and Frozen
How Many Trips?: This will be my 12th trip but just the 2nd for my friends.
Best Disney Story: On our first trip together in 2010, I complained that we hadn't seen Daisy Duck all week. Well, on one of the EMH mornings, we got to MK and started to head out to Fantasyland. DH was right behind me, but I caught sight of Daisy and started running. DH said, "I had never seen you run before--you're fast!" I didn't knock anyone over, I swear!
What do you look forward to most on your next trip? Sharing my Disney knowledge with my friend, but hoping I don't scare them!

So excited!!! I assumed there was no chance of the SWW character dinner at H&V since it wasn't showing up on my MDE ap. I called for the heck of it this afternoon and was able to get either May 31 or June 1 with a few time choices! I went with June 1 since it is my son's birthday. The boys are so excited! I am not thrilled that it is 2 credits, but it will be worth not having to wait around in line that day to see those characters!

It is so exciting that we are all getting so close.

Had some bad news today. My mom had some more melanoma tumors removed. She has battling this cancer for 25+ years. Every time she gets close to a 5 year remission, another bad mole pops up. I was diagnosed with it in 1999 and have not any other. I am lucky. Then she told me that my stepdaddy has prostate cancer. Seems they both received their results this past Monday. :sad1:

I can tell you, I am a mess of emotions. Part of me is saying push this trip off for :confused3 more years. Meanwhile I am telling the older kids we have to keep living life to the fullest. I know if I ask my mom, she'll say to take the trip.

One thing for sure: I'm getting that gallon bottle of sunscreen. We'll just roll in it like a bunch of chocolate covered strawberries.

I have a craving for cotton candy. Does WDW have any? I may have to go to Dollar tree tomorrow, but I really want one of those big pink fluffy clouds on a stick.

This is just making me smile! I danced with Dora the Explorer. Did the chicken dance and everything. I would have ran along with you to see Daisy. And believe me--I am NOT a runner.

So sorry about your news :-( prayers for your family! I agree with going on with your trip, unless it means missing an important treatment or appointment for your folks that you want to be a part of. The only cotton candy I've seen at WDW is pre-made and packed into plastic tubs and sold in some of the post-ride shops.

Thank you for the prayers. Feeling better this morning. Have a couple of friends who have battled this so I am hopeful.

That's what I figured about the cotton candy. Seems we only see the sticks at the fair and even then, that's hit or miss. Fire and liability for burns around the machine.

Going to order my ponchos today. What did we do before there was Amazon?

So my countdown is showing 62 days! :cool1:

Got my tickets yesterday, added them to MDE (no problems!), now just waiting on day 60 to begin making those all important FP+ reservations. :cool1: So far, so good working with MDE. I'm hopeful that this next step will be just as easy.

I got a phone call earlier this week that my ADR at Sci-Fi Dining had been pushed back to 1:00 from my original time of 11:15. Wondered what was up, but then found it is was because of the SWW character meals. Not sure if I will keep the new time or not now. We are definitely getting anxious.

On another note, we will be going home to puppies.:goodvibes Our little girl is due approximately a week and half before we leave. So while they are so young, they will be with my folks, then we will get them when we get home.

This upcoming trip (78 days away) is the only thing keeping me going today! I'm a high school teacher and chaperone our annual senior WDW trip every year. I'm supposed to be on a charter bus on my way to Orlando right now but we didn't have enough kids sign up this year. :( Thank goodness I've got my June trip to look forward to! My students may feel my lack of Disney wrath on Monday though. :)
