*****Official (??) June 2014 Thread -- Party Like It's Hot!*****

Hello all!
Just wanted to "formally" introduce our party. . .

Me- Mary-36- love all things Disney. Will be our 4th time to the World plus a trip to DL and we have sailed with DCL three times. Preschool teacher. Favorite character is probably Snow White

Okay everyone. I guess I am a bit confused. I just found out on this thread recently that you can book your reservations 180 + 10 out for dining if you are staying in a Disney resort. I just don't quite understand how you do it. When I look on the website it shows now that you can make reservations now through June 8th. We are checking in on 6/21, so can you tell me when I can make a reservation? Can I do it online. I am sorry to sound so out of it, but we have only made a couple of dining reservations on previous trips and I just want to make sure I understand how this works.

Thanks!!

Name: Sharon, my 12yo son Nick, my sister, my two nephews ages 11 and 14
Travel Dates (if known): June 7 to June 14
Where Will You Be Staying?: off site, my sister has been saving non-Disney time share points so she will be taking care of the resort
Travel Party: 5
Current Location: Tucson AZ
Favorite Disney Character: Jack Sparrow
Favorite Disney Movie: Pirates movies, Dead man's chest is the best
How Many Trips?: Our first trip to the world! We have both been able to visit Disneyland/California Adventure. I took my son when he was seven and he had so much fun.
Best Disney Story: When we went to DL they had turned the Tom Sawyer island into pirate island, don't know if it is still like that, but they had the character Jack Sparrow (a really good look-a-like) there just wondering around with no lines or anything. He talked to my son for a good 5 minutes with no one else coming and interrupting. He told him pirates wear their mouse ears crooked to the side that the sash comes off (he of course had pirate mickey ears on at the time). So that is the way he wore his ears for the rest of the trip.
What do you look forward to most on your next trip? While the boys are a little old for characters, the first two days will be Star Wars days so we get to meet Chewbacca! They are all three also really into dinosaurs and animals so my son is really excited about Animal Kingdom and we have to get reservations at the T-Rex restaurant!

You should be able to book for your whole trip beginning on your six month mark, so June 21!!!

I'm confused too. We are going 6/2 -6/16. Right now I can only make reservations on the Dining system until 6/10. I should be able to do my whole vacation, but I can't. They release it a day at a time for me. I have missed some significant dining times so far. Have not been able to get Ohana OR BOG

Call to make them for the 180+10.

Also don't forget to join the Facebook group.

Also you need to be logged in to your MDE account to make the +10 reservations. I could only make them from the page that had all the restaurants listed. When I went to a specific restaurants' page it would not allow me to make reservations past the 180 day mark.

We're you able to make the reservations? You should be able to make them through the app or by calling.

I called. I could NOT make reservations past 6/10 on the app. The CM told me when I called that you can only make reservations 180 +10 by phone, not by the app. SO, that means I missed my whole reservation period basically. The reservations for BOG and Ohana are gone. I'm sorely disappointed in this. I had no idea I had to call. I thought it was all set up on the app. I also had no idea that you can now make Dessert Party reservations 180 days out. That used to be hit or miss around the 60 day mark--and sometimes closer than that. So many changes--just since August 2013, which is the last time we went.

I am hoping for a BOG closer to time. My son is graduating from high school and he really wants to go to BOG. But, if it doesn't work out, there's always next year.

I am sorry hopefully Ohana and BoG will open up, I wasn't aware that it couldn't be done on the app.

I had the same issue with the app. But when I finally found that when I logged into MDE, make dining res., then entered my date from the little calendar on the top with the rest of the info and clicked Find a Table, I could book the whole vacation. But if I paged through the restaurants by date ( where you enter the date in the midscreen box )and then search times, I could only go day by day. We also are celebrating a HS graduation! I managed a BOG dinner for our first night (not any availability for the rest of our stay!) at the much sought after time of 9:05! Haha :-D. Also hoping to snag a better time closer to arrival day!
:-

Just checked the MDE dining res availabilities & found so many more times opened up for June!:cool1: I was able to switch our BOG dinner to June 1st at 6:45pm! I still haven't had any luck with Dine with an Imagineer but I'm not losing hope!pixiedust:

We've decided to leave a day earlier! Instead of getting up really early and driving 10.5 hours on Friday, May 30 and being exhausted, we've decided to leave after I get off work on Thursday afternoon. We can drive about 6-7 hours, get a hotel, and be at WDW by lunchtime on Friday! We'll eat a quick lunch and get FP+ for three rides at AK that afternoon before checking in at Port Orleans Riverside! :thumbsup2

I am so excited but a little sad. I was going in March and just got my flash drive and mail yesterday for the March trip. Come on June lol

This sounds like a great first day! People think its weird to plan vacation days down to hours this far in advance! But it helps me picture the day and what we might be doing and lets me borrow a little pre-Disney magic :-D

Exactly kalee45! And let's face it....WDW is very expensive, so you want to maximize your time as much as possible! ::yes::

It is quite costly! I sometimes gauge big purchases by the cost, as in "Wow, that's almost as much as a trip to Disney!" But whenever I think about cancelling a trip to save money or to allow us to do something else, I look back on our WDW picture books (my DD20 has made one for every trip since she got her camera 6 yrs ago), and know its so worth it! I even told DH that we could probably go to London for about the same price, and he replied, "I would rather go to Disney"!!

Hahahaha! Tell DH I'm with him on that one! It's expensive, but as you said it is totally worth it!

The last time we went was in 2009 and my son was 12. We were on the bus ride back to CSR from Animal Kingdom and he said, "Dad, this is the best day of my life!" The next day we were on the bus ride back from the Magic Kingdom and he said, "Dad, remember how I told you that yesterday was the best day of my life? Well, it's now the 2nd best....TODAY is the best day of my life!" Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! That is more precious than gold. You can only get that at Disney World! And that's why I'm SO excited to be going back!
