The DGKids love Chef Mickey but one of my daughters hates it. She is petrified of heights and when the monorail goes through she freaks out so we haven't been in a long time. I should add my DD is special in many ways.

Congrats!!! I didn't realize how much my DH loved that place until I told him that I hadn't made an ADR for Chef Mickey's. He was no happy at all, and made me change one of our ADRs to Chef Mickey's. You are ending your vacation like we are, with a Chef Mickey ADR.

Happy
Easter

June is getting closer :cool1:

Happy Easter to you and your family as well. Happy Easter to everyone else.

Hi everyone, just trying to get caught up. Haven't been on for awhile. MIL has Alzheimer's and she had a really bad month in February. Then this month had a tree to fall on house and been trying to get house back in order. I am so looking forward to this trip. Providing no more bad karma comes our way. :sad2:
Here's to planning over the next 2 months!

Boy, have we had our share of bad luck. We still aren't 100% sure we're going to get to go. I guess we may know the middle of May just before DH goes on AT. I am still planning, because I am not looking forward to being shut in this house with my in-laws for 10 days!

That's great news! Glad it worked out for you!

I'm so busy at work this month that I can hardly take time to think about the trip much until I set aside time at night! I have lots of packing decisions to make since I'm going solo.

Anybody have advice about storing my laptop after I arrive at ASSports on ME mid-morning? Can they put it in a safe behind the front desk for me so I can go to Epcot and not worry about it? I do not want them to put in Luggage storage.

Now that we have a zero balance the vacation feels so real! I am going to buy a few more SD cards for the camera and a backup battery.

Little things being checked off the list!

That's what my cousin did when they checked in at Pop, until their roomm was ready. Actually, I htink she kept it there, because the safe in the room wasn't big enough, they are pretty small, that's why I'm only taking my iPad.

I've been shut up in a house with my in-laws since November 2010, our trip is my way to get away from them an this house. :lmao:

Having a zero balance really does feel great!! I still like to go to the Disney website just to see the zero balance on the screen.

I need to buy some more SD cards and batteries for our camera. I just bought it this past Black Friday. My old camera had a rechargeable battery, but this one take AAs. I may just buy a couple sets of rechargeable AA batteries to take with us.

That's good to know that we can do that. My DH isn't planning on taking a laptop, but I am. We play World of Warcraft and there are daily quests that I do that can only be done once a month. Sure enough, for the month of June, the dates you can do the quests fall during our trip. The quest take less than 20 minutes to do, so it won't be taking time from our trip. I can do them while the men shower, and still have time left over. My DH thinks I'm crazy and he doesn't want to mess with bringing one, but we have brought one one on every trip. I am not leaving it at home this time. Of course, on all the other trips, we took it to entertain the DSs while we were on a flight, but still I wanna take it and I'm gonna take it.

Has anybody really had an issue with things disappearing from their room? We didnt really worry about anything last year and had no problems. This year we will take a laptop since you get free wifi now but its too big for the safe. I just figured we would stick it in a drawer...

We have never had an issue with it, but then I have never taken anything that would shatter my heart if it did get stolen. The laptops we take, my DH got at an old job that they were just going to toss them instead of fixing them. He worked in the IT department, and his boss gave him the ok to keep a couple of the toss aways. I would probably feel a little different if it were an Alienware laptop, especially if it was an Alienware from before Dell bought out the company. If I had one of those, and it was stolen, even God couldn't protect them from my wrath. :lmao:

we have taken our laptop with us on the last two trips, and have never had a problem!!

If anyone has a cancellation for a breakfast seat at pre-MK opening on the mornings of June 5th, June 6th, June 7th, or June 8th please let me know!!!!! :worship:

But since I just booked my solo trip yesterday I'll never get a breakfast MK reservation at first seating just for me.

Darn! You're getting there the day after I leave!

Please add me to the list -- new to this thread -- solo trip 5/31 -6/4! I'm staying at Pop (second solo, and I took a trip with a friend several years ago, plus I've gone with the family many times and we'll all go again 3/13!). I just started planning my trip a week and a half ago, and have been able to get ressies anywhere I wanted, at the times I wanted -- that's a surprise! If anyone else is going solo, I'd love to have lunch with you!

And where do you get the tickers for your signature? Since I've got two trips coming up, it would be fun to add one.

Please add us to the list!

I'm taking my family of five, plus my dad, on June 18th for five days. We'll be staying at AOA. This will be the 1st trip for my 3 kiddos (DS11, DS9, DD6). :cool1:

You leave the Pop, the day my family checks into it. If you go where you can edit your siggy, there is a link to the DIS tickers. I use the ones at ************** b/c you can have rotating tickers.

My in-laws live all the way on California, so I don't have to see them often, but they are moving to Texas in July and will only be about 9 to 10 hours away, not happy about that, because DH already expects we will be visiting. He says they might also visit more often, too...ughhhh.

My reservation still won't pull up on the Disney website, but they say it's in the system. I have a confirmation they mailed me, so if I get there and have an issue, there will be problems, I will NOT be nice!

I don't want the hassle of dragging my laptop and it won't fit in the safe and I'm not willing to leave it out, I've only had it a year and it's a really nice one. Everything else I take will fit in the safe, like my iPod and iPad, I will download some movies before we leave home to watch in the van, but most likely I will sleep with my iPod music.

I have seen people post on here that they had items taken from hotel rooms, I'm not willing to chance it. We have never had anything taken from our room, but I havne't left anything valuable out either. I keep my phone with me and put our keys and wallets and my checkbook in the safe. I did take my mini-laptop one year, but it fit in the safe.

Oh, they know about it. There is no way Mommy could keep the secret long enough. My wife has been wanting to take them forever, but we kept putting it off until the youngest got "old enough" for us.

I don't blame you, I wouldn't take a nice on either. I don't know what kind of set-up you have on your iPad, meaning if you can get connection other than wifi to the internet like through a wireless carrier. If you can, you can also access Netflix and HuluPlus if you have accounts with them.

I have been able to keep the WDW part of our trip a secret. Our DSs know we are going on a trip, but they only know about the Cocoa Beach part, which is where we are going after the WDW part of the trip.

My DH was the same way about taking our DSs for their first trip. He insisted that the youngest DS be 5 before we went.

My big dilemma right now is what bag to carry in the parks. I was dead set on taking my Disney D&B mini Margot bag. Then I started wanting to put more and more in it, and it just won't hold much with what I already have in it. Now I'm thinking if I take out a lot of the stuff that is in there, I can bring all of things I want to bring in the parks. I don't need my student ID or my wallet. I can put my CC, money, and DL in the zipper pocket of the purse. Then I'll have room for mini M&M tubes for penny presses, extra sunblock, extra deodorant, and a few other things I want to have in there.

I only have WiFi on my Ipad, I didn't want a monthly plan. I have my HuluPlus and Netflix on hold right now, because I have been so busy, I haven't had time to watch. They have free WiFi in all the Disney resorts now, but I probably won't even use it once we get there.

We took my cousin's oldest child on our first trip and she had just turned 7, then I took my cousin and her sister and her 3 children when the youngest was 3 and the youngest still talks about it to this day and she will be 7 at the end of this month.

We were trying to have a baby when we first started going to WDW and I decided we would be taking them from the time they were born, guess I don't have to worry about that now.

I have a Vera Bradley backpack that I use most of the time, because I get stuck carrying everything. I think I hav decided to say no to all the crap this time, we'll see. I get tired of dragging that bag and having to deal with it on the rides. We are taking a small cooler bag, but I will use a bike chain to chain it to the ECV, so nobody walks off with it, I think I can fit what I need in there. I may not even carry my camera, since DH has his and my in-laws have one. Besides, in January, I dropped my camera and bent the metal part of the lens and the lens itself doesn't want to come out.
