Yeah, they basically go to school to go to the assembly, as everything else is already packed up etc. Why they couldn't do that on Friday is beyond me. It's not too too bad for us as they will both be getting honors but if we all had to sit there for no reason, we would definitely be skipping! Their proud Grandpa would go crazy if he couldn't be there to brag!

Thanks. A friend sent me that quote last year when our DGSon passed away. It was devastating to our family and for a while we almost let it get the best of us. It will be 1 year on the 21st of March and believe it or not our family is stronger and closer than ever.

I see your family goes by the Triple A's, My youngest daughter refers to her family as The A Gang (Amy (aka Mom), Alex, Adyn & Abygail). I love doing itineraries, gives me something to do until vacation arrives.

We are excited to join the group! We will be at POP from 6/5 to 6/10!

Was hoping it could've been 6/4 but school decided to have the kids come in that Monday just for an honors assembly! I wish we could skip it, but grandpa would be so upset if we missed it.

Maybe they are doing it b/c your school hasn't had enough days of counted student attendance. I know here, they have to have attendance for the students for a certian number of days. My DS's last school district would have 1/2 days for the last week of school, which I thought was a total waste. I asked one year why they did that, and was told that they "had to have students in class a certian number of days. Those days they were basically there long enough for the normal attendance time and then go home." Arround here, the official attendance for the day is usually taken about 10:30 AM. If a student is not at school by 10:30 AM, they are considered absent for they day. They might have just needed to add another attendance day and are putting the assembly on that day so there is something to do. Honestly, if your kids haven't been absent too many days this year, I would just let them skip the last day and go when you originally wanted to.

Finally just 99 days until we arrive at WDW. Double Digit Dancing by myself today as the DGKids don't know we are going. Maybe my daughters will come by at lunch and we can dance.

I can't answer for sure but it sounds to me like you are cutting it pretty close. If you buy 2 prepurchases now they will be $198.00, $99.00 each, but if you can't get the photos edited in time it could wind up costing you alot more. By the time you extend the photopass time you are saving less then $50. I'm all for saving money but then again I don't do stress well.

Thanks. I was able to find out that the extension costs $10 per 15 days so if I did it twice, then that would be an extra $20 versus the extra $99, so I'm saving almost $80 doing it this way. And if I time it right, I might be able to get away with just one $10 extension. What can I say? I like living life on the edge

I'm having a hard enough time keeping the WDW part a secret. We were eating dinner the other night and my fil was talking about how their 40th wedding anniversary was coming up this week. My fil said, "well I think that Kim should use the money she was planning on using to go to WDW this summer and send Paula and I on a cruise as an anniversary present". The boys were sitting right there, and I just wanted to jump across the table and smack him.
Hopefully I will be able to snag some DIS time this weekend. I have to drive my in laws back out to West Texas this weekend, and this time I get to sleep on a cot b/c all of the handicap rooms with queen beds are booked and they don't want to rent two rooms. Thank goodness we just have 77 days until we leave, and 80 days until we check into the Pop Century.

I am sure it probably does have something to do with the number of days for the year. I just wish they would've tagged it on somewhere else during the year and let our break start on the 1st! Don't they know it's messing up my precious WDW time?

They've barely been absent, so I have no issue with the skip (I bet most kids won't go that day!) but my Dad would go insane if he wouldn't get to see them participate in the ceremony.

I think we are at Pop some of the same dates as you guys!

Just a quick opinion question. My youngest daughter was off work for 3 months due to an injury and returned to work in Feb so we are purchasing the meals for her and her 3 children 12, 7, and 4 (turning 5 on the trip). I am budgeting $100 a day for an average for those 4 and myself. We have 2 TS reservations (CP breakfast and 1900 PF Dinner) but the rest are quick service meals for 7 days plus 3 travel days. In addition, we will be eating breakfast in our room. What do you all think, did I allow enough money. We have been several times and I feel it is plenty but my husband thinks I should allow more. The more I allow for meals the less I have for other things.
