***Official June, 2012! Hot, hot, hot!!!***

Is anyone else second guessing everything? I am questioning everything that I had already decided on so I wish the trip would just get here already so I can stop!! The latest? I am thinking I may want a Bagallini to use in the parks. At the rate I am going, all the little stuff I "need" for the trip is going to cost more than the trip itself!

I heard that! Every time I shop now I cringe thinking with all the stuff I bought for Disney I could have just spent another week down there! Of course that would have led to more shopping lol :scratchin

I think we have everything but trial size items for the plane ride, my husband finally decided on a pair of sunglasses (his favorite pair ever were stolen along with our car last summer ) so I think that I am close to being done. Does anybody know where to find carry on size suntan lotion? All the bottles I find that are small seem to be too big still and I need something until we get our luggage.

Speaking of capris Old Navy has some really cute ones that are really comfy, and I love that they come in S,M,L etc sizes instead of numbers (numbers make me feel fat). Theyve been having some decent sales lately especially if you have an Old Navy visa. Being muslim I stay covered with long sleeve tshirts and linen pants (also from Old Navy-Im glued to that place) with my scarf; I love my linen pants they are so breathable and cool compared to cotton. No denim no way down there and no black clothes, if I stick to those rules then I am good!

Okay, so I just noticed that there are 2 showings for F! the night we are scheduled to go. We got the F! Dining Package scheduled. Which showing are we supposed to go to, or do we get to pick? I thought I'd ask here before I call Disney :) TIA!

Is anybody doing pin trading this vacation? We are starting it for the first time for the kids and hope its a lot of fun for them. We also got the Epcot passports for something fun the kids could do in WS, has anybody done this?

JAVARMY-Ive never done this so Im not sure, but when I was looking into it I thought you got a voucher or something at the restaurant when you go. Maybe they will let you decide then, or whatever times they have left over?? I thought about doing this just for the reserved seating because Im dreading standing in line that long!

We did the F! reserved seating last year at this time, but I don't remember what happened, haha!

We are trading pins. We started last year w/ my kiddos (they were 3 and 5) and I will be doing it this trip with my sister (she is 14). I loved those Epcot passports for my kids last year. It made them excited in each country and we made them find where the pictures on the stickers came from. My kids think they actually visited those countries. Any time we hear anything about China they say "mom, we've been there!!" I just answer with "yes we have :)"

One option for carrying sunscreen on the plane without worrying about bottles or the TSA at all is to find sunscreen towelettes in foil packages. Here are some brands on Amazon:

Sun X
Core Tex
Aloe Up

I have to look for some when I shop later today.

Our van was stolen last year so I feel your pain!

Also, I just bought a little empty plastic bottle from the travel section at target and added my own sunscreen to it from our big bottle so that way we had some when we got there before our luggage arrived. :thumbsup2

Your voucher is for the first performance only.

I was thinking about just filling a smaller travel bottle but was worried since its not labeled but I guess people do that for shampoo and other items. This way I dont have to buy more sunscreen...jeez can that stuff get any more expensive!

I have to look for some when I shop later today.

I'll have to check those out, I know Avon has the bug spray wipes but hadnt heard of sunscreen. Do they work as well? My kids burn so easy that Im the mother who uses half a bottle before I feel they have good coverage :lmao:

Oh you just reminded me of a question! Do baby wipes count as liquid? I know that sounds stupid but seriously there is always liquid at the bottom of the container. We packed them away last year for fear they would get taken at security (Im always randomly checked lol), but really want to have them with me this year in my carry on since we'll hit the parks before getting our luggage.

Thats so cute that they think they've toured the world!

So we bought various pins on ebay to trade but after reading about scrappers etc Im worried, I have no idea how to tell if they are real or not. Do the CMs check the pins when you trade? Id be completed humiliated if they turned the kids down saying the pin wasnt ok!! How can I tell?

My DH carries some baby wipes in his work car that would probably work. He's an appliance repair guy and he uses them when his hands get dirty at work. He usually get them at gas stations, but we found the same small pack where all the other travel size stuff was at Wal Mart. It isn't a box of them, but in a tight plastic baggies type thing. Maybe you could get one of those (maybe one for each way) for your carry on luggage and then have the larger package in your checked luggage. We got some to go into the backpack we are taking into the park.

*Sigh* I know how you feel. We bought ours on ebay for both this trip and the last before I started learning about scrappers. There are a lot of people on the DIS who get VERY upset about scrappers and people who trade them, and I understand why. However, it is a difficult position when #1. I have already bought them, #2. most of the ones I have from last time were ones i've traded for (but probably also scrappers) and #3. The only way I can tell if any of mine are scrappers is by looking them up, pin by pin, on the pintraders website, then looking very carefully, and even then most I don't really know for sure.

Here's how I personally feel about it, and please don't flame me. I will probably not buy any more bundles of pins, because more than likely they are scrappers. However, I will continue to trade the ones I have because some are from previous trades. I say trade the ones you have (you will probably be trading for scrappers anyhow), but now that you know, maybe try to be more careful when buying. I personally don't mind if the ones I get are scrappers, I do it more for the fun than the collecting value, but I do understand the frustration of the hardcore traders who pay $7 or more per pin and are trading it for a $1 fake.

Also, I'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong, but the CM have to take the pins if they have the disney stamp thingy on the back. I have heard that if CM know it's a scrapper, they will trade and then get rid of it to help take them out of circulation, don't know if its true or not, but there it is.:mic:

*sigh* haha, so there it is! :)

Unlabeled liquids
I've flown for years with "unlabeled" liquids in my carry-ons in my 1 Qt. bag. That's how I bring my shampoo, creme rinse etc. So pouring sunscreen into a small container would be an excellent way to prepare for your first day.

Pills
I also bring all my meds "unlabeled" and have for years in day-by-day containers except for my pain pills for my hips and they stay in a prescription labeled bottle.

Small Sunscreen Container(s)
No luck today shopping for sunscreen packets but you may have better luck than I did or can order online. I just don't like to pay anymore for shipping but gas is almost as bad ;) around here.

For 1st day sunblock, I ended up purchasing Neutrogena "Ultra Sheer Liquid daily sunblock spf 70" for my carry-on. It's only 1.4 ounce, has a slight fragrance. I will use it the first day and other days for touch-ups as well. It has a screw-off top and rubs in quickly. It states that it's mostly for the face and desired areas. There is no sticky or slimy residue which I hate especially when working with my camera.

Cutting up my Frogg Togg towel
Someone asked about cutting up my Frogg Togg. I cut it into a "U" shape so I do end up with a small extra middle piece. The big U shape is then large enough to tie around my neck. The smaller piece I just dip into water for wiping my head or feet etc.

Pin trading
And here's some stuff about pins and pin trading. The Disney Collecting Board here on the DIS has some great info about scrappers. I was really into pin collecting and trading when it all started at WDW in the late 1990s and my collection is well over 1,000 that I have in pin notebooks and framed. I like to take a few extra pins on most trips just to hand out to unhappy children or children who have been extra good and done something nice for someone else.

I have stopped trading on the internet but if there is something you are particularly looking for I may have some extras etc. that I will happily trade or exchange for some other Disney memorabilia. Feel free to browse my pins on PinPics.com under my name “PINSAVER”. My extras are mainly with the "Countdown to the Millennium" series and the “WDW - 100 Years of Magic” series. Often I get extras of the first or last of the series but I also have other odds and ends of different pins from when the Disney Store still sold pin sets of Tinkerbell for example that I exchange here and there.

Okay, I think I’ve covered enough for tonight!

Have a nice holiday tomorrow everyone!

Kathy

How much sunblock will we need? I have a spray can thingy to put on before we leave for the day and then a small Neutrogena tube to take to the parks with us to reapply on faces and ears. Do y'all think that will be enough?

Today I just keep thinking, "WE'RE LEAVING THIS WEEK ON VACATION!!!" I can't wait!!

Just an FYI: Eddie Bauer (eddiebauer.com) is having an AWESOME Memorial Day sale. I just got a pair of capris for $20. I've bought these before (not for that cheap!) and I just picked up another pair!

They have Talls and Plus too!

Go get em! :surfweb:

Just a bit of advice, last year we bought the spray suntan lotion; we used it every day and then I realized it was leaving a yellow stain all over our shirts. We were spraying it after we got dressed but I didnt think it would do that. I wouldn't ever buy it again, or if I did I guess I would spray everybody down in their undies lol. It was a name brand maybe coppertone? Other than that I think we took two bottles of that plus a small travel for our faces but only went thru the one spray bottle I believe and the travel size on a 10 day trip for four people.

Yeah I worried about getting flamed for my post :confused3; I am also more interested in trading for the fun of it and not the value. However like you said its not fair to others that are collecting if indeed they are getting fakes. Thanks for the honest answer, you made me feel more at ease.

Atleast so far nobody has thrown anything at me for the post....:duck:

I saw some of these today at Toys R Us, but the ones I saw were the baby suntan lotion brand (sorry I forgot the name). I didnt see the price but I was in a hurry so didnt look around, Id assume they would have more. I ended up buying a couple of empty containers at Target and pouring in some of my larger bottled lotion. I love how helpful this board is!!:lovestruc

Thanks, I didn't even think of that. I'll just spray the DS down in their undies and my DH and I can do that in the bathroom.

Happy Memorial Day

God bless all our troops and and big thank you to everyone who has served our country past and present.
