Official JUNE 2009 Thread!!!

I am jealous of all who are packing. We leave next Friday night, but between our home improvement projects and my yard sale this Sunday, I am swamped with other things and piles of stuff all over the house. Packing will be last-minute. Not to mention regular work and family activities that don't stop. Oh well, next week this time it will all be background noise as we drive to the airport.

Suzanne, I see you are in Phenix City and an Auburn Fan...War Eagle! I graduated in 04.

I'll be staying in POR the 20th-27th...what's the chance I'll run into some of you POFQ peeps? When we went in October, I bought a spool of LG ribbon and forgot scissors! We used the whole spool to tie a bow on the handle of our stroller every day -- the good news is that we could always find our stroller! Every time Mom and I saw some one with LG...we wondered if they were a DISer...we were just too chicken to ask!

This trip, I've got another spool of ribbon, but I'm going to paint "DIS Boards Member RainyDayPlay" or something to that effect and cut it shorter this time around! Maybe some of us will run into each other!

23 days and a rough weekend to go!

Had good news today -- I have tenure! Relative job security, yay!

And then, signed up the DD for summer dance & cheer classes at a different dance school than the one she's danced at for the last two years (it's closing!) $80! Maybe that's reasonable...it's just not what I was expecting for two 6-week classes, especially when we won't get go for a week. Hm.

Okay..yeah...reasonable.

Good for you! All the teachers at my school are scared. We all got our pink slips pending grants. We hope we get our grants back! If not then I will just sub but I really want my kids back. I work at a PreK

They released her home yesterday since there really isn't anything they can do for her in the hospital. My parents signed a DNR and they let her come home. She needs a pacemaker but isn't a candidate for the surgery because she wouldn't make it through the operation. We're just happy to have her home. We'd rather she goes in peace surrounded by loved ones than in a hospital.

I can understand that. I am glad she is home with her family. My cousin has a heart defect (born with a hole) and I worry about her all the time. She is goiing to have a Heart Cath in 3 weeks to see what is going on, I just keep my fingers crossed it will be okay, especially for the 3 children. I will keep your sister in my thoughts and prayers.

Spent the day packing

DH has 4 more shifts to work and I only have 2! DH works Sat, Sun, Wed and Thursday. I get to work Sun and Mon and I'm on vacation. So, between now and departure, we have ONE day off together to try and get everything squared away. He works days and I work nights so it is not always an easy task.

Now, we're just hoping for good, or at least decent, weather.
