Official JUNE 2009 Thread!!!

Add us to this list. We are headed for our Disneymoon June 20-27 at the GF. All of our ADRs are made, tours scheduled and park plans are set. Packing will have to wait until after the wedding. So much to do and so little time.

We are 38 days away and our docs should be coming any day now. Cant wait.

I need a little reassuring. To put it briefly, I promised DH this trip would be relatively relaxed because we just went in January. However, when I posted a thread about whether it is possible to do the pool and then tour the parks in the evening, I pretty much got laughed off the boards! Is it really that busy? Was I crazy for making June reservations? I knew it would be crowded but now I'm beginning to doubt myself...

42 days!!!!:cool1: I'm so excited!

Its been really hard....our DS have only been once, 9 years ago so DH and I wanted to do something special this summer since older DS heads to HS in the fall.

Younger DS gets out of school at 10 am on the last day, which is also our anniversary. We drive right past the airport to drop the boys off at Grandma's, where they think they are going while DH and I go away for a long weekend for our anniv.

Soo....it will be "normal" for all four of us to be packing up the week before. Just some of their clothes will be "in the laundry" (secretly packed in our big suitcase) and we will tell them about one exit on the highway before we pull into the airport.

I cannot wait...I think I am almost MORE excited about the moment of telling them :rotfl:

....nah, I'm going to Disney World for a whole week with my family!!!!!

How exciting! We surprised our DD with our last trip in January. We woke her up at 4:30am the day of our trip and gave her a present "we forgot to give her on Christmas." She was so surprised! Keeping it a secret was incredibly hard. I don't think I can ever do that again, but it was SO worth it!

Crowds are hit or miss, I would guess early June won't be AS crowded as late June, but i'm sure it will still be fairly crowded throughout the entire month

Our plan is to hit the parks early and stay until noon-ish or so, then we'll hit the pool until dinner time and then back to the parks, is that feasible for you & your DH ?

Add us to the list!! We'll be there from June 20-27, staying at the Wilderness Lodge. We're doing the QSDP this time, with a couple of ADR's OOP.

June 20 is my birthday, which is exciting, but even more so is that this trip is a complete secret! My boys (14 and 9) have NO IDEA we are going, and we don't plan on telling them until we leave for the airport! We've surprised them before, and it worked out well, so we thought it would be fun to do it again!

We went in June once before and it was a total washout....rain sideways and upside down for an entire week. I'm really hoping that we see some sun this time around!! :goodvibes

ETA: I forgot to say that our ME docs came in the mail today! Makes everything seem more real!!!

I can't stand it! We are surprising the kids, and it's KILLING me!
I booked in February, and I don't think I am going to make it! ARGH!!
23 days..

You can make it!!!:yay: I booked in November, and we don't leave until the 20th of June....my kids don't know either!! It's hard, but the reward will be so sweet!!:woohoo:

I finally got my Mickey Mail today :cheer2:, now all I have to do is finish packing and wait for June 6th. Since I am off on the 5th, we are going to head on out about 4am, so we arrive mid morning. I am sooooo excited.

This seems to be the best advice so far. I think we will do that on a couple of days, especially for those parks that have the rides that we really must see. I'll give him some late days and just go with the flow. We are fairly frequent visitors so there are certainly some attractions that we can miss and nobody will be devasted. I guess we just need to go with the flow!

We went in June last year for the first time (we usually go in July) and LOVED it. It might sound strange, but June was a complete turn around from July. Yes, it was hot. But not as hot as July! Some of the nights in June, I actually had a long-sleeve shirt on! Yes, the crowds can be busy during the summer. But, we love getting up and heading to a park, then head back to the Resort for a swim/relax/cool down in the late afternoon. Using that break really helps us get a second wind and then we're ready for the night and evening EMH's!

I'll be there June 7th-13th. For my 22nd birthday! Cant wait gonna be my and my boyfriends first time!

We're headed down June 21st to the 28th and staying at the Grand Floridian!

The ADR's are all booked and I just made the last payment last week!

I like the idea of hitting the parks in the morning then chillin by the pool in the afternoon before heading to dinner. It sounds much more relaxing than making everything a mad scramble. It is a vacation afterall!

It really does make the trip so much more enjoyable. I prefer to sleep in, except when I am at WDW and I need to wind down in the afternoon and a swim and nap is so refreshing, then hitting Evening EMH is great, by then most people have left and the parks are almost empty. It makes the trip seem longer and you feel relaxed at the end.
