***** Official * July 2017 * thread! *****

I had no problem booking FOP & I was surprised because I was 47 days out since we booked the trip so late. There was a lot. Maybe because we're doing it on 7/4 & everyone else will be in MK or Epcot.
Our FoP fastpass is on July 4th, too, and I didn't have any trouble getting what I wanted at 60 days out. I also figured that the crwd would be at Epcot and MK. We have annual passes so we don't have to worry about it.

I wonder if it was easier to book before the ride opened. Maybe some were not aware of FOP. That sounds like a fabulous 4th!
I booked the fastpasses before Pandora opened for previews, which I think helped with availability.

We just returned from on Wednesday from our five night stay at the Beach Club. We were lucky enough to be part of the Pandora AP preview last Saturday. The area is really lovely and I was glad to have experienced it before it got crowded.

The weather was hot, but not as hot as it will be in July. We went back to our resort every afternoon for some pool time and naps. We plan to spend our final day at the pool and skip the park for this July trip.

The new fireworks show at Magic Kingdom is really good. I also enjoyed the Star Wars night time show.

Today was FP+ day and man was it stressful!! This year was more complicated than in the past because we have my dad's family coming along so planning for 8 was not as easy as planning for 4 lol For some reason I couldn't narrow down when we were going where, but probably because we added a day and had to restructure our plan with SDFP no longer being an option

On the bright side.... we are 60 days awayyyyyy!!!! party:

thanks for the heads up about SDFP. I was out of town for the weekend and missed that. I had just purchased bands to create phantoms, too. Oh well. I do hate the kiosks, so at least I can skip that step!

Hi July'ers, we are getting so close! So do you think the park hours that Disney has posted for July are "it"? It says every park will close at 9 or 10, Boo! Do you think they'll extend hours and if so, when? I've only been to Disney once in 2014 (if you don't count the 80's :) and MK was open til at least midnight!

Hi, Eddie512. I have wondered about the hours myself. We have teens who will NOT get up early, so we are avoiding the parks with early morning hours; we wouldn't get there in time to utilize the benefits, we'd lose any chance of short waits when we do arrive & possibly be in a more crowded park. If they extend the hours later any nights, it shouldn't affect our plans too much; we just might be tempted to stay up a little later (making it less likely that we arrive at any park at opening the next morning lol!) We will plan to have a great time, regardless. Yet, I'll be watching this thread to see if those with experience chime in.
In the meantime, did you see this thread (posted today) asking about July hours? It has a few responses already:

There are extra hours at AK until July 2.

Very true. I got a lot accomplished
Ha! I bet my house would be so clean.
It is June, so excited. 26 days until we arrive in Miami Beach. First time in Miami (outside of the airport). Then we'll be heading to BLT on June 30th - first time staying there. I've wanted to stay there since I saw it being built! going to place my grocery order today :D

Are you ordering through Garden Grocer? I'm debating if we should do this or not. We did last time but this is a much shorter trip and I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible. I might just order from Walmart and get a couple of cases of water and a few snacks.

I was going to because we are eating breakfast in the room, bringing lunch to the water park and even having pasta and salad for dinner one night. For just water and snacks - I would buy them in the resort gift shop. Price wise you may do better with Walmart but the gift shop is not outrageous

Thanks. The gift shop might be the way to go. I can go after we arrive. I could just pack snacks and buy the water from the gift shop. We are flying Southwest so baggage fees won't be a concern.

We did Garden Grocer last July with the whole family and it was really nice to have some snacks to come back to in the room and not have to hunt anything down or pay resort store prices just for a small snack or drink. We were really happy with the service that we got and wouldn't hesitate doing it again. On that note, this trip is just DH and I and we are flying SW so we will put snacks and some drink mixes into our checked luggage and probably just get a pack of water at the resort and purchase refillable mugs for the resort. For our December family trip I haven't decided yet as we aren't sure if we are flying or driving (flights are crazy right now!)

My daughter is a yearly Disney visitor...she said they will change as we get closer.
I would really love to do Pandora for PM EMH. My July trip was very last minute and is very short. I had to go by dates that accommodated flights with work (priorities, I know). I booked it specifically for Pandora, HEA, and the Music of Pixar Live. The more I can cram in, the better :)

Have you done the Pixar music live before? Since I just booked this trip, I just found out about it and thought my kids might really like it. They are 4 & 7.
