Question of the day....Why did you pick the hotel you are staying at this summer?

DVC members...1st stay at Aulani (newest villas), so second stay we decided should be at the first DVC villas. We will be at OKW in July!

We love AKL. The restaurants and the quiet of the property are the major selling points for us. We love hoe relaxing the whole property is each time we visit.

We stayed at POFQ and loved it but wanted a different moderate resort so Port Orleans Riverside was a great choice! Since this is a "Girls" Cousin trip the Royal Rooms were just the perfect extra touch!

We chose CSR for summer 2013 because....
We have stayed at many Disney resorts from value to deluxe, as well as SOG. (DH is military), and we discovered the relaxing vibe of CRS when we stayed there in 2011. We had planned on staying at SOG...the large rooms, location, and reasonable rates are always a draw...but due to the pool construction, and hot tub closure this summer, Shades was off the list. We felt as though CRS was the best of both worlds for a us. Although CRS has a reputation of being more for adults, we found that they did have many fun activities at the pool for the kids, and the adults get to enjoy a beautiful resort...EVERYBODY was happy. The pool, and ginormous hot tub are wonderful, and the bus service excellent. Although some complain that the resort is too spread out, we actually found it very peaceful to walk the paths, and enjoy the beautiful grounds. I will admit the the room was small, especially compared to SOG, but it really had no impact on our stay since we spent so little time in the actual room.

I think my favorite gift shop at Disney is the villians Gift Shop at Holywood Studios. We look forward to that place every visit.

One thing I think everyone should do at least once is the Luau. We loved it. The food was great and it was fun watching tan, oily men throwing fire into the air... at least for me. Plus we got to spend some time at the Poly which was so pleasant!

Question of the day....Why did you pick the hotel you are staying at this summer?

We choose the value resorts simply because we go during the most expensive time of year--Christmas (this July is our first not Christmas trip).
We spend so very little time at our room that all we need is a bed and a shower and don't want to spend more than we have to. But we do always want to stay on property for the amenities that are just what we are looking for--- emh and DME. Given that, from among the value resorts, we like Pop Century best but don't really know why. Guess its theming is of interest to us and we enjoy all the oversized icons????

POFQ for the first couple days. We chose it because we have never stayed there before and want to try it out. Also staying at the Contempery the kids have been asking for awhile and with the military discount we can finally afford to stay there.

We stayed at the Yacht Club in 2009 (my mother-in-law booked a family vacation for 13 of us) and the children LOVED the pool. We also liked the location between HS and Epcot. In booking this trip, we considered Art of Animation, but after looking at maps (and remembering the fun the children had on the beach one evening after a long day in the parks), we decided to return to the Yacht Club. I've always wanted to stay in one of the MK parks, though. Maybe when we return when the children are teenagers????

My favorite store is the Christmas store in DTD! We picked our resort because we wanted to stay deluxe and we got a great discount otherwise we would have stated at AKL or Poly!

Haha! Not yet... Though I do have a bag of things set aside that I keep adding to... Mostly toys to entertain DD with on the plane!!!

Absolutely not! I've done some shopping but no packing yet. I have to move out of my student rental home first before I can worry about WDW. I'll probably pack the night before or day of since the flight isn't until 1.
