We are there July 24-29 at Kidanai 2 br
July 29-Aug 2 BLT 2 br
This is the first time we are going with a kid this young. She will be 21 months old....I can't seem to find my groove with dining. Normally we do a lot of dining out at the WDW restaurants and many of them were signature restaurants. I don't feel comfortable doing that for this trip. So I am confused![]()
Hi! In 2008, we went to WDW for 5 nights, and my little one was 14 months old. We had always taken the boys to regular casual restaurants at home, so I knew they could handle those. We made sure to stick to their regular bedtime routine, and their regular eating patterns. This worked out very well. We had a TS dinner every night, but we went to all-you-can-eat places...LTT, Biergarten, Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare and Boma. We also did 2 character breakfasts. A lot of people I know said that it is inevitable that small children have a few meltdowns while on a WDW trip, especially in the hot summer. Well, I am proud to say that there was not one single meltdown on that trip, or on our 10-night trip in 2010 when we went to even more TS restaurants. I really think the key is keeping them to their normal routine as much as possible. Do we sometimes deviate from their routine? Sure we do, we are on vacation! But their meal times are the same as at home, and we make sure they get plenty of rest. We go to the parks early in the morning, return to the resort for a nice afternoon break and nap, and sometimes we go back in the evening but sometimes we don't.
We were lucky last time to have a villa at BWV that had a nice view of some of the Epcot fireworks. So every night, we watched that in our PJs, then the kids went to bed.

I am so glad WDW has start complimentary Wifi in the Resort rooms.
I booked SW today - so we arrive 6/28/12 and depart on 7/10/12. Not sure yet where we are staying. We are considering a split stay and all will depend on AP discounts (hopefully!). We would like to do POFQ and All Star Movies since these are two places we have not yet stayed. However, if we get a good enough discount on the Poly - that is an option too!
We will fly out on the 14th of July. We may end up walking if I don't get with the program.
I know what you mean - if I did not get decent airfare, we would end up doing the 16 hour drive. We are already driving down for spring break because the airfare is too outrageous. Plenty of time to watch for room discounts now!
and drive to the Mississippi
center, spend the night. Wake up the next morning around 4:00 AM
and drive hard,
get to Orlando around 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon. WOW !!! what a drive - feeling like a yo yo

There is a resort list but it is really small.... only a few of us are going in July
LOVE POFQ. I think you will love it.
YEAH. We will definately have to see if we can meet up one day.
