Well, today is the last day we are counting down to leaving for our vacation with a double-digit number! I will definitely be on here tomorrow doing the single-digit dance!!! We still have 15 days left until we actually check in at BWV, but we are really looking forward to the first part of the vacation...the drive down and visiting loved ones in Southern Florida! Those few days in Boca will be very relaxing, as we will be spending time with relatives and friends, and just enjoying our time together! No hectic running around until WDW, and even there we have a couple of days away from the parks.

I finished work today, so I am officially on summer vacation!!! Tomorrow morning we are heading out to BJ's with the kids to buy snacks for the trip, as well as whatever we need for the 4th of July (we're having a BBQ at our house). I made the list already, and made a list of last-minute things to pick up at CVS before the trip. This evening, DS5 has a party at his karate school to celebrate the end of the school year. DH and I, as well as DS3, were also invited to come so that should be fun.

So, I am curious...does anyone have any pre-vacation "traditions" they do? For us, we have always ordered pizza the night before we leave for vacation, because we live in Brooklyn, NY and we really miss the pizza at home while we are away! Sorry folks, there's just nothing like Brooklyn pizza!! Anyone else hae anything special they do right before going away?

Oh I hear ya about the pizza! It's the NY water! Seriously! For our honeymoon, we were away for 2 weeks, 1 in the parks and 1 on the cruise and the cruise pizza especially was so gross!! They day we got back, we ordered a pizza for dinner because we missed it so much!

Don't really have any pre-trip traditions other than running around my apartment like a chicken with no head, unpacking and repacking JUST IN CASE I forgot something!

4 days till we are sleeping by the airport...can't be late for the flightbesides it got us 8 days of parking doing it this way and a lot less stress

I'm officially tired of packing and repacking. I mean, I'm going for 2 days...ALONE! How many lists can one have?? I keep changing bags as I am trying to not carry too much which is only making me more crazed because I'm afraid I will forget something. I'm currently down to a small duffel bag and a medium size purse. But it's only Monday and I have the rest of the week to keep changing my mind!

Our tradition is just getting pizza and chilling out before going to bed early. Since my grandmother lives with us now she may just make dinner

Our flight has been changed for a 3rd time. Were now leaving at 9:20AM and getting in to Orlando at 11:15 or something like that lol.

Well, I'm taking my 15 mo to the doc in about a 1/2 hr. She's been scratching and has spots on her body. Yep, I think she has the chicken pox. She got the chicken pox shot 10 days ago ... I called my doc and she said some kids get the cp AFTER getting the shot.

Actually, what's ironic is this happened to my nearly 5yo too. I didn't think anything of it at the time. But now that it's happened twice, I guess we just react to this shot.

I love this idea! I don't think we will have a chance to have one this year. We are going to a wedding Sat. and then heading to a bday party for my dad. We are leaving for Orlando directly from my parents. Maybe we can establish something for the morning that we leave.

Otherwise, I think the tradition is cleaning my house. I always do this before vacation. Otherwise, it would be a wreck from all of the packing!

Hopefully, the most uncomfortable part will be over before you leave for the road. Do they have medicine to stop the nasty itching? My girls are eight and haven't suffered through the chix pox yet. I remember how awful it was when I was little. Your poor little one!

Yes, the water makes a HUGE difference in both the pizza and the bagels! But with pizza, it's also the sauce...the local pizzerias around here really know how to make a good sauce, while I find that the ones outside of this area don't. Plus, our pizzas are so large!!

Uh-oh, I'm so sorry for your little one. I had chicken pox in 8th grade, and I was miserable. But I never got the vaccine. Both of my boys had the vaccine though. I hope she gets better real soon!
