I cannot believe it but I got a PIN code for July.. I am going to faint!

So we are officially booked for the BC now. I was praying for any kind of discount...otherwise we would have downgraded to a mod. POR is nice but with 5 in a room (kids are getting big) is just too tight for us.

Oh my goodness guys, the SNOW is insane!! I went out and shoveled this morning and it wasn't bad at all but just in the past few hours it started coming down FAST! Then about an hour or so ago, I started hearing this weird loud noise and smelled a burning...then came the sirens! I called my mom because I saw my dad's car on the corner (he's a fireman) and she said the call was for a "live wire!!" The noise I heard was electricity!! So scary! The power just came back on. So glad it wasn't out for too long!

Just keep thinking about hot, sunny Floriday in July!!

That is so scary!! I am glad everything turned out all right. The snow has been steady all day here too. Kids are off again. You are lucky that the power was not off long - it gets really cold!!! We will remember this in July!!!

This July we will start off with Animal Kingdom. I use TGM for the park days & that day is supposed to be good...we have used TGM before & it makes sense but hot & crowded is hot & crowded no matter what day so we plan to take it super easy & only do alittle each day. The kids love EE so we will make a point to get there at rope drop hopefully ride EE twice, eat a late breakfast with Donald & then anything else is icing on the cake.

I tried TGM a few years ago, but did not follow it exactly. I wonder if I should try again. My kids love EE too! We also love the safari. I know that pathway between those two attractions well!!

I like TGM basic principles. I just use the sight for his best days..however last summer he was late with days so I did a rough draft myself based on his tips & I had all the days "right". :thumbsup2

Lucky you!!! Are your dates the same? Let me know if I need to change anything on the list on page 29

Woooo Hoooo!!!

Yes we will!! We'll toast a drink to NJ/PA winters!

I will have to think about it again, we generally like to be spontaneous to a point. If one place gets crowded, we just switch parks. That is one reason I love park hoppers, although this year we have an AP so it doesn't matter.

I also wanted to say, I totally understand about crowded rooms. DH prefers two rooms at a value just for the space. That is one reason we have not stayed at any of the mods, except for CBR (we got 2 rooms on a great deal there last year). The Poly has really large rooms with a very nice day bed. So, it is another place to consider in the future. We were amazed at how big the rooms were.

Woooo Hoooo!!!

Yes we will!! We'll toast a drink to NJ/PA winters!

I am looking forward to that drink!!

FYI: Room only special (20/30/35/40) was just extended through 8/14. Look under special offers on the WDW website!

We always got to MK first. Last year we had only 5-day tickets (Military deal) so we skipped a park that first day and went to the waterpark--it was a nice way to relax after the plane ride down. We moved around, did the slides, floated, then went back to the resort to have dinner and crash. Still, it was hard not going in for Spectro or Wishes, so this year we will probably go in just for a little MK atmosphere!

I agree with the space--we have 2 kids, but a DD16 and DS13. We need the extra space(and the extra bed). Our next trip may be a 2-rooms at a value, just for the space.

We are driving for the first time with two small kids (currently 10 months and 4 years), and our arrival day and first full day will be rest/exploring/pool days.

On our Nov trip, the first full day there, my girls were tired and cranky. All my 4 yo wanted to do was play in the sand (at BLT). So we spent that day relaxing and exploring the resort and it was the best thing. By the 2nd full day, we were ready to hit the parks. (Also, our arrival day we didn't get into our resort until 3:30pm after leaving at 7:30am for the airport ... so it was just a l-on-g day!)

I know that's not ideal (I wanted to go to the parks!!), but it worked for us...so we're going to try it again this trip, too. We'll be at WDW for 10 days and I have 4-5 non-park days planned (well one is a water park day but we plan to only arrive around 3pm and stay until close).

I haven't used TGM ... I guess I don't know what I'm missing!:rotfl2: But with all the good information on the DIS, All Ears, and other sources for FREE (we get our Unofficial Guide WDW books from the library), I've never understood why I should pay for TGM.

Ok, enough of this snow now!! I'm outside Washington, DC and we've had enough!! 30+ inches is waaaaay too much for us.:scared1:

Congratulations! I love the Beach Club! We've stayed there twice, and it is such a pretty resort!:cloud9:

Just read the link and sad news for those of you who had your heart set on seeing Wishes this summer....

It is being temporarily replaced by Magic, Music and Mayhem, the fireworks show from the short-lived Pirate and Princess Party.

But on a lighter note, they also said there will be some new additions to the Tower of Terror!

These are our ADRs for now...seems like a ton! ;)

So.....I have been getting caught up on reading others TRs and found a review for Mickey's Backyard BBQ! Got me thinking.
Maybe I should change from HDDR to Mickey's BBQ?? The photos and food looked great w/great character interaction @ BBQ. As of right now I have BBQ for the same night of HDDR but at 6:30p.

Any Suggestions about these two places??

Thanks for the heads up on the discounts. I was able to save some money for our summer trip!!

I agree it is hard to resist the parks when you arrive! A water park is a great idea though.

We have a DD16 and our DS will be 13 in June - what a coincidence!! We love the 2 rooms at the value - everyone gets their own bed and 2 bathrooms!!!

I know it is a lot harder with younger kids. We did not take ours until the youngest was 6 - I give you a lot of credit. I so often wish we had started going when they were younger.

I have a hard time paying for TGM too. Then, I second guess when I hear how accurate he is.

ARE YOU EXCITED AS I AM!!!!

I LOVE the Main Street Electrical Parade and I have not seen it in years. Great news!!!! I think it is better than Spectro.

Where did you read this Nikki? I love Wishes, that will be sad - I better not tell DH that part. But, the Magic, Music, and Mayhem fireworks are awesome - especially if they are exactly the same as the Pirate/Princess Party. We loved them!

I have heard great things about both. One friend told me they preferred the BBQ. I do think the BBQ is a little more weather dependent. I think that HDDR is more of a show and there is more interaction at the BBQ. Good luck deciding!

WHen is your DS 13? Mine will be 13 in June as well--I just rounded up to "trip age", lol. His bday is June 8. My DD will be 16 in March.:scared1:

I always do TGM now. It's only $19 if you click on the link at the top--really a drop in the bucket when you consider what you're paying for a trip--and if you're not happy with it (I think you will be) then ask for a refund--I hear they're good about it. We used TGM our last 2 trips and I love the Least Crowded Parks recommendations. Sure--you can probably find the info on your own, but they have GREAT boards over there and the people are top notch with touring advice, even if TGM's info is a little out of date (but I don't read all that since I've been to WDW a few times now)

I have not done the BBQ but we LOVE Hoop De Doo! I am still considering shifting ADRs around so I can add it--it's sooo much fun:rotfl:.

Thanks to Wendy, I have decided to make some ADR changes. I have the TIW card and figured out that it is blacked out on the 4th. Well we had planned to eat at the Biergarten on the 4th...a place where we would probably spend the most on alcohol so it's a waste not to get the discount on it.

So we decided to switch out Biergarten and France lunch days! Now it's France on the 4th, Biergarten on the 7th! I'm going to update my ADRs then I'm going to post that page....no one's given me their dates in a while so maybe the list needs a good bump.

HEAR YE HEAR YE! BREAKING NEWS FROM WDW!

http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/

ARE YOU EXCITED AS I AM!!!!

OH, what fun memories!! This is THE parade that I grew up on -- the music, the lights!

OK, going back to read the whole article! Thanks for posting!

Where are you in Virginia? We used to live in Colesville, MD. but my husband worked in Ashburn and Tysons Corner.

Oh, I'm right there!!

I've worked in Tysons Corner and Ashburn, too. How long ago was your DH here? Ashburn has really grown up! When we moved here there were still cows down the street ... now it's a full-blown community with tons of stores, churches, more stores, restaurants, a town center (summer 2010), etc.

Hmm, I swear I read it in that link but now that I went back and read it again, I don't see it. :confused3 I KNOW I read it somewhere!!

Ok, let us know when you remember or find it. Did you ever see the Pirate & Princess fireworks? They were really good!

WHen is your DS 13? Mine will be 13 in June as well--I just rounded up to "trip age", lol. His bday is June 8. My DD will be 16 in March.:scared1:

I have not done the BBQ but we LOVE Hoop De Doo! I am still considering shifting ADRs around so I can add it--it's sooo much fun:rotfl:.

My DS will be 13 on June 16th and DD turned 16 in November, but luckily with all this snow, we have not gotten around to taking her for her permit yet. I understand :scared1:

That is where we ate on July 4th two years ago - I will try to find more info about the holiday pricing.

DH last worked down there in 2008. The company he worked for in Tysons was bought out and then they moved to Ashburn. He telecommuted but traveled down there as needed.
