HAHAH! I do too! I have Sorceror Radio streaming on my laptop all day long when I'm teaching. Not loud enough for any of my students can hear, but so that I can hear it. It's so much fun to be going over direct object pronouns in French at the white board while the music from Spectromagic is going on in the background!

YES! Me too! I play it loud enough to be background music for the students though. Every morning, it's Epcot Entrance Music followed by Illuminations. Then while they are working at their seats, it varies....sometimes it's main street usa, sometimes poly resort loop......LOVE IT! The best is, my kids hum along now! DH says I've ruined them because now when they go to WDW, they'll think of school!

Good Morning! I was on my school facebook page to check out pictures from the senior prom (where I teach). Our prom is seeped in tradition and still takes place at the high school. The seniors have a parade to "arrive." They arrive in various forms...with theatrics to boot (trampoline pulled by truck, floats, firetrucks, ambulances, hearse, surrey bikes...etc.) Not too many pictures are posted yet (which surprised me; I thought they would be facebooking at the prom...)

However, of the couple that were posted, I HAD to share this one. I taught the girl last year and the boy is a son of our choral director. I wiped out their faces. They are lovely teens, but for privacy issues....

Their float was pulled along by a truck.

Wow, that's insane! So every couple has their own float? What a big to-do! That sounds really fun!

And how cute is this couple's theme?! Love it!

Ok, my peeps, if you remember, I was trying to 'upgrade' to a club level room at AKL with our PIN (we're already booked with a savanna view.)

I called last week and was told there were no CL rooms available with the PIN, but that the PIN was applicable to CL rooms.

I called today and was told the PIN is NOT applicable to CL rooms and the only thing available is a full price 1 BR suite for $4000 for 5 nights :scared1: I explained my call last week and that last year we booked a Deluxe CL room at BWI with a PIN and she just brushed me off and asked if there was anything else I needed :headache:

Am I the only one who's tired of feeling like every time I call no one knows what's going on in their own job!?!?

Grrrr.....

No, I agree - it seems to be an growing trend, and not just in Disney. It is very frustrating. What I would do - is keep trying. I have heard a lot of stories about different CMs.......keep checking the website - and then keep calling. Your persistence may pay off- it is just a shame that it cannot be simple.

I am so glad you are feeling better!! It is good to be off the Flexeril - that stuff knocks me out! Have you ever tried Skelaxin? it does not make you drowsy, but works very well. The only problem is a lot of prescription insurances will not pay for it because it is costly.

My DH ALWAYS packs the night before, drives me nuts!! I love looking at Food Porn!!!

Thanks so much! Yes, the Flexeril knocked me out completely!!! The doctor had given me 7 days worth, 3 times a day (21 pills total). I took 8 doses (2 on the day he gave them to me, 3 a day the following 2 days), and haven't taken it since Thursday night. It did the job though, no more of those unbearable spasms. I never tried Skelaxin. Not sure if my insurance would cover it if it is expensive.

Yeah, my DH doesn't really worry about packing. All he really needs to do is pack whatever clothing he needs, and the very few toiletries he needs. He uses the shampoo they give at the hotels, but I always bring my own (not only am I a hotel snob, but also a hair/makeup snob...oh and a pizza snob too, but totally unrelated to packing! :rotfl:). Yes, food porn is fun to look at...and I am glad there are so many others on these boards who agree with me...makes me feel like less of a nut! :lmao:

Good to hear that your back is better! I love that we're all getting so close to our departure dates - two weeks from right now my DD will be officially a H.S. graduate and 5 weeks from right now we'll be at MGM! WOOHOO! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

Congrats to your DD!!! That's amazing, and I'm sure the years went by fast. 5 weeks from right now we will be arriving in Boca Raton to visit relatives and friends!!! We will probably be on our way to going out to dinner or figuring out where we are going for dinner! And.....

...I have just 5 teaching days left! This week, the students are off on Thursday and we teachers go in for professional development. Monday June 14th is the last day of classes for high schools, so my last day of teaching. I'm making cannoli with my Italian classes that day and the kids in the Spanish class are bringing in food! Elementary and middle schools have classes all the way until June 28th which is my last official day of work for this school year. But, high school students take Regents (NY State Exams), and they start on June 15th, so only proctoring and marking from that point on, but that is so easy!!!

Hey! So excited! We just got our ME tags in the mail!!!!

There are 3 of us traveling and we received 3 tags. It seems in the past that we received 2 tags per person. Has that changed?

Thanks!

Thanks :thumbsup2 Unlucky for them, I'm a teacher and our last day of school was yesterday. Now I have PLENTY of time on my hands to 'bother' them :rotfl2:

Thanks!!! We just attended the alumni banquet and it was so sweet - the oldest alum there was from 1935! Our kids were in awe! These years sure have flown - and they don't seem to be slowing down at all. I keep saying I'd like one of Emma from every year from when she was a baby on up. She just rolls her eyes at me! ;)

Wow, I can't believe how close you are to being done! We have a full week this coming week, Monday and Tuesday of classes the following week and awards and fun day on Wednesday before 4 days of exams and then 2 of PD. I remember taking the regents exams - I lived on Long Island for my first three years of high school. Those were some tough exams!!!

Some kids get together to make a float to ride in together. Bleachers are set up and a fence to keep the crowd back (the community comes to the school to watch.)

It is a very cool tradition. It was problematic this year bc our school is under massive renovations and the hall outside the gym doesn't have a ceiling. In the past, fabric was draped to hide the ceiling of the gym (so you didn't feel like you were in the gym) but the fire marshall wouldn't okay it, so the draping they were allowed couldn't conceal all.

No one has posted pics of inside; it was stunning. I'll add them when someone posts.

After the couple is announced, they enter (I think they are saluted, but I don't remember for certain)

I think this might be "Up" themed...

Keeping trying different CMs. I hate that the answers are never the same! I love that you have some time to call (again and again and again!) :rotfl:

Wow, those are some amazing prom pics! I can't believe to the extent everyone goes - it's so cool!!!! I also love that the community comes out to support and celebrate it! Very impressive.

I envy you! My last day is weeks away. I'm off on the 30th.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm sure I can repay the envy when I'm back in school having teacher work days on August 12 and you're still enjoying your summer :goodvibes:goodvibes

Hi everyone, I'm new here. My name is Sandy, I am married and I have 2 daughters (14 and 4). I spent my honeymoon at Disney in 2000, took my older daughter in 2003 and now we are going to be there July 5-12, 2010.

I am so excited to be going back! We are celebrating my youngest daughters birthday while we are there, she will turn 5 during our week stay. We are having breakfast with the princesses for her birthday (a surprise) at Epcot, and both girls will be transformed into princesses the afternoon we get there at Bibbiti Bobbidi Boutique, and we recently decided to upgrade our resort to the New Orleans River Side (from all stars movies), which I'm very excited about.

I'm ready to burst with disney excitement!!!!:cloud9:

Welcome Sandy! I have added you to the resort list on page 136. If you would like to post your ADRs with restaurant, date, and time - Nikki can add that to the ADR list on page 136. Nikki will also be staying at POR around the same time you will be there!

I have a funny story to share with you guys...

the other day my DS (7) starts packing his toys in his carry on cinch sack bag for our trip to WDW. Well my older son (11) asked his younger brother what he was doing, DS 7 replied "packing my toys for disney world." Older son replied, "we are not going for another month"

needless to say we are all ready to go
