I'm going to stop by Home Depot while I'm running errands today to pick up some LGMHs....I picked some up for our last trip but forgot to take them with me, and of course I probably didn't save them (or if I did, they aren't with my stuff from that trip waiting to be scrapbooked).

I'll be sure to have a LGMH on our backpack (the only park bag my DH will carry is a backpack -- it has to be "manly" -- we'll see what he says when I attach the LGMH to it, LOL!).

OMG! Yesterday I received my Magical Express vouchers and luggage tags. Waiting on the rest of my travel documents, maybe they will come today. Last night DH had to go to Home Depot, I got some of the Alien Green Mickey heads. Now only 35 days to wait.:goodvibes

Now that's exciting!! I didn't even think about that, that we'd be getting the travel documents probably this week or next. I have to warn all my family not to touch the mailbox...it's mine mine I tell ya...all mine...

Hi,

Just think, on Monday, we'll all be able to say, "we're going to WDW next month."

It's never too late to add to the list!! :thumbsup2 You're on!

I'm sure you know this but, just make sure to cancel the ADRs if you can't make i to anyt. It'll open up some space for people who want to get in last minute.

Me too!! It's almost time for the mail to run here. Maybe they'll come today. I have to work on my grocery list so I can order from Garden Grocer.

This is our first time going to Disney in the summer. We have always gone in January or the spring. This is a last minute trip and hear how hot it can be and possibly rainy. Can anyone who has been there in July give me some feedback on some real life experiences with the weather during that time? Thanks! :)

The first time we went in July (2005) the weather was very hot, but it only rained twice, once it lasted about 15 minutes, the other time it was about an hour. That was mid-July. Last year we were there in the beginning of July and it was also hot, but rained a lot more. We had the typical afternoon storms almost every day, and had at least one day that once it started, it did not stop raining all evening. Be prepared with ponchos and the rain is not really a problem because many rides are indoors. The daily rain usually occurs around 4-5pm so that is a good time to be napping or eating.

Just have a quick question about tipping. Doing more planning with the cash budget now.

I would love to hear peoples opinions so I'm supporting the CMs the way they should be.

From what I have read...

Housekeeping $1-2 per person per day
Food service 15-20%
Transportation?
Anything else I'm not thinking of?

Sorry if I broached a touchy subject, I know tipping is more of a personal preference. You can PM me if you feel like this isn't a topic that should be on the discussion board. I just feel a little lost on this subject.

THANKS!

Hoping my ME info will be in the mail today :)

Our housekeeping was so good that we ended up leaving them $5 each time. The main reason for this was that she/he not only had our room spotless but she/he also made towel animals for each of our kids and one for DH and I! They were incredible!

As far as dining, we tip accordingly to how good the service was. We had one dinner where our server wasn't so great and we still ended up giving her a 15% tip just because we were in Disney spirit! She was nice and apologized; maybe she was just having a bad day.

As far as transportation, we never tip. I want to say, now don't quote me on this, that we were told by the Disney bus drivers that they could not accept tips. Now, if you are referring to Magical Express, I think that you can tip them, but I am not sure.

Done.

PAID IN FULL (including Deluxe Dining)!!!!!! :cool1:

I have been trying to pay off our remaining balance plus add Travel Insurance for 2 days. I have emailed twice. I think I may have to break down and call my agent... :scared:

I have $920 burning a whole in my pocket!! I am getting so excited. Hey - what is this whole lime green thing I keep reading about? :thumbsup2 Are there really lime green mickey heads that you can buy at Home Depot? I would love to participate in it too. It would be so cool to run into one of you at Disney. I can't remember who it is, but there is someone here that is going to be at POP the same week we will be - July 20-27.

I think I'm gonna add this somewhere to my t-shirts for the trip. Maybe match DW & DS in the front, but add this somewhere on the back or on the sleeve.

I am definitely going to tip our MouseKeeper (probably $2-3 a day) as I can't wait to see what cool towel animals we get. As for dining, we tip according to the service we get. :upsidedow

The LGMHs at Home Depot are paint chip samples. No need to buy them.

As far as who will be at POP, check out the list on page 3 (post #39). We'll be there 7/26-8/2.

Does anyone know how I can easily find out the park and parade hours as well as magic hours?

Oh Tom can you make name tags for us like your second one. I need Austin, Christina, Janet and Lois. All using Grandma4ever. I want to put them on the window at the resort. Please!!!!

Also I have a lime green mickey head I will post so those who cannot get a paint chip can print one off. Lois

If anyone else wants my brand-spankin-new DIS name tag, send me a PM that way we don't clog up this thread with requests.

Also, don't think I'm gonna release this to the general DIS population until after we return from our trip. So, until then it will be a July DISers exclusive!!
