I am new to the boards and I am loving all of this great info! My family is booked for POFQ July 16-25! My little boy turns 7 on July 17th and is so excited to celebrate at Disney World!

DBF has an "army thing" to do on the 25th, so we had to change our dates.
I wish he would have told me this a couple of days ago though, because just yesterday I sent all our ADR's and flight info to the poly IPO, and now I have to change everything!!!

The military doesn't understand these things do they? I am stressing my DH's turn to spend a month in DC will pop up around our travel dates.

that darn military. hate it and love it. we're getting our vacation in this year because I know next year we're not going to be so lucky. Iraq here we come - or worse Afghanistan...

that darn military. hate it and love it. we're getting our vacation in this year because I know next year we're not going to be so lucky. Iraq here we come - or worse Afghanistan...

DBF is currently serving in Iraq. He is supposed to be returning home sometime in June which is why we planned a trip for mid july, so I hope we dont have to change our dates again.
as for the military, i'm loving it right now because I just found out DBF is getting a 2 week leave in march I haven't seen him since june so i am very excited I get to see him in a couple of weeks!!!!!!

as for the military, i'm loving it right now because I just found out DBF is getting a 2 week leave in march I haven't seen him since june so i am very excited I get to see him in a couple of weeks!!!!!!

Enjoy your leave time!!! We did that last time - dh got home in Nov and we did disney in Dec. It was stressful not knowing if he'd get home or not (which is why we didn't tell the kids) but it all worked out. I hope it works out for you too.

Enjoy your leave time!!! We did that last time - dh got home in Nov and we did disney in Dec. It was stressful not knowing if he'd get home or not (which is why we didn't tell the kids) but it all worked out. I hope it works out for you too.

Its very hard but planning our trip to disney is really making the time go quicker!

Sorry to hear that. My DH thought he would have to go for three months with this duty station, but so far we haven't heard anything. My first trip to WDW was before DH left for his one year tour in Iraq. It is the perfect place to go get all the stress out of your mind.

yeah, we're scheduled for a full blown deployment (15months??) sometime next spring-ish, just don't know exactly when or exactly where. We have some idea but everything is so fluid that it could change. And secret squirrel dh doesn't tell me everything anyway LOL.

We are going to a monster truck show tomorrow night. We have been to some small ones, but this will be our first big one in a large NFL stadium. How about everyone else?

Welcome! I'll be honest...July is A LOT hotter and A LOT more crowded than February and May. Be prepared!!! I went on a short trip in Frebruary last year and was able to do more in 4 days, than I did in 10 days in July. My best advise is get to the parks early, use fast pass as much as you can, don't expect to be able to do everything, (pick what's important) and drink lots of water!

Yes, it will be hot and crowded. But, the parks are generally open later and that helps. One thing that has worked for us is to go to a park the day AFTER it has had EMH. It tends to be less crowded. Get fast passes early. Also, if you want to hit Big Thunder or Splash Mountain when you get to MK, take the train to Frontierland. It gets you there quickly and there is barely a line early.

We swore we would never go in the summer, but my SIL has a timeshare and they need to go then for a basketball tournament. I'm thinking we know the lay of the land pretty well and the plan is to get there early, do our favorites and then get out and back to the pool. How bad is it late at night?
