Went to have work done on the car. My brakes are bad after 66,000 miles. We may have a newer car by the end of the day. They have a car with only 2500 miles and feel they can get us in it for the same dollar amount. That would be nice. Send positive vibes our way don't want to make a bad or implusive buy. However we all know that if you need a new car now is the time to buy it. Crap!!!

Praise the Lawd our very old expedition has never given us a problem . But today my husband announce that she is starting to feel her age. and I quote "well if the car breaks down on the way to Disney, we'll just have towed to the dealer and get a new one"

AAHHHH:scared1: First why did you have to put that bad karma ou there and second i'm having a mild new car payment heart attack:sick:

I do dread the ride back home, but hopefully we can chat about the trip....

Amyz00, did you stay up really late or get up really early???? 4:44am??? I thought 6 am was bad!

And Jason - 32 hours??? :scared1: At least you have a nice long trip in between!

And finally, Nikki, as if you need something else to do. I did change another reservation at 5:50 this am! On Friday July 17th, we have Ohana at 7:10 now instead of 8:30. I was so glad something earlier came open!:cool1:

2 weeks from right now, I will be on 95, headed to see the Mouse!:cool1:

:rotfl: I was actually up at 3:34 am our time. I just couldn't go to sleep - maybe because the trip is getting closer and I am so full of excitement! :confused3

Even though now is a good time to buy a car, it's still just another car payment. But if you can get something that equivalent to what you are paying now, that would be great! We just bought a new car on June 1st and got an excellent deal of the car iteself as well as our trade in.

Congrats on both!!!! Have a great trip! Be sure to report when you get back!

Just a thought, anybody going in the next few days want to send my girls a postcard from Mickey while you are there? And conversely, anyone going at the end of the month want us to send one to your little ones?

We're going to be there starting on July 6th, if you want me to send one on that day.

If they can get that deal worked out, it sounds like a good idea. Good luck!!

Yay, the twisted sisters take over the world in only 5 Days!!!!!
Thinking about buying a really nice tiarra at the crystal shop in the MK with my birthday gift card..........hmmm............:cloud9:
Fly & q, CR, CL, MK view 7/2-12/09!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Pegasus - Will look for you with your tiara on the 9th! That is my birthday too! :bday: I probably will shop for a new Tink watch - so, you will be more noticeable than me :rotfl:! My two DDs and I will be in MK for the morning and then DHS for FDP @ Brown Derby and then Fantasmic...

Well we did it. We now have not one but two new cars. The cars are much better than what we had. One car is silver with 15 miles and the other a red with 2500 miles. We got both with payments at just 66 dollars more than we were currently paying. We can handle an additional 66.00 per month. The goal is to pay even more and try to pay down the debt. But Disney keeps getting in the way.

I think we will be happy we made the move at this time. Got to get to cleaning the house since I spent the day buying two cars Lois

AWESOME!!!!!!! Congrats!!

...since I spent the day buying two cars Lois

Congrat Lois! Sounds like you got a great deal! Once the "cash for clunkers" goes into effect, we'll be trading in an aging suv for a hybrid! That will be after Disney though...not as brave as you!!

I don't know if it is a factor, but I was over on the Universal threads and someone posted that Universal has lifted the blockout dates for June and July for some of their passholders. Obviously their crowds are lower too, so maybe the crowds won't be so bad. Soon we will all know!:goodvibes

in one week I'll be in the air right now!

same time as me! Where are you going to stay? What airports are you going to be in? I just think it would be so cool if we ran into each other.

Yea! Sounds like a really, really good deal on both cars...so what kind of cars are they?

Just got back from a day at Six Flags Great Adventure!! It was fun, but it was NOT disney!! I took a picture with Robin (of Batman and Robin) and then he asked me what time it was. Can you imagine Aladdin asking you the time? Then we past by, who I assume was the Riddler and some cat woman (not Catwoman, she was in some sort of tan leapard outfit) and they were BSing about people they work with or whatever. You would NEVER see anyone break character at Disney!! The bathrooms were disgusting, we had to pay $25 for a "Flash Pass" and we waited 30 mins on the entrance line, which were so poorly organized, people were just squeezing in around us. Oh AND, my, almost 1 year old, niece came with and she wasn't allowed to ride ANYTHING because she can't walk yet, which apparently is a requirment. I mean, even the carousel, which, if she could walk or not, my sister was going to hold her up on the horse. Oh well....

Lois, congrats on the cars and I can't believe so many of you are saying you're leaving in a week!!!!!!!! Really, we have to keep this thread going even after we all come back because I so look forward to my "Official July 2009" thread whenever I come onto the DIS!!

Yea! Sounds like a really, really good deal on both cars...so what kind of cars are they?

They are both Hyundai Elantra. We got them for about 12,000 if we had had our cars paid off but allas we do not. Still got a pretty good deal as the cars we traded in had no extras at all and these have power windows, locks, keyless entry, Air, CD/MP3 player and an alarm. They are four door as opposed to the two door we had and one model up from the accents we traded in.

I think we will be much happier with these than the ones we had a feel that we got a fair deal. Not a steal but a fair deal. We plan to keep they for at least five years and hope to have them paid off sooner if at all possible. Lois

OMG I just realized when I looked at the post where all our resorts and trip lengths are listed...the first of our "July trippers" leave TOMORROW!

Whoo hoo!

Only about 3 weeks for us! (Don't think I updated the thread that the Judge in our adoption case had the NERVE to go on MATERNITY LEAVE :lmao:, so now our adoptions are delayed until August...but we're gonna go and celebrate in July anyway!)

FYI, fellow July DIS-ers, Harry Potter tickets at the AMC Pleasure Island are now on sale. There is a midnight showing on the 14th (well, technically the 15th, I suppose) and it opens with regular screenings on the 15th. We're going to the noon show on the 15th. Can't bring myself to do the midnight show this time around.
