I am jealous, as I haven't gotten my Magical Express info yet :( I was hoping it would come today...oh well, there's always tomorrow.

Hope your excitement arrives tomorrow! The envelope had a 41000 zip code; weird - I thought it would be sent out from Florida!

I am jealous, as I haven't gotten my Magical Express info yet :( I was hoping it would come today...oh well, there's always tomorrow.

I called Member Services (DVC) because my MIL had not gotten her Magical Express info yet. I found out it has been printed and is in the process of being mailed out. Our arrival date is July 12th... so if you're arriving after us, then you probably didn't get yours yet either.

Tipping is probably different for DVC housekeeping because we don't get daily service. We only get trash and towel service on Wednesday (arrival on Sunday) and after we leave. 15%-20% is typical for any US restaurant meal. Bus drivers are cast members and are not allowed to receive tips from what I understand. I dont' know about the baggage people.

We had fabulous seats at the railing by the lagoon at Rose & Crown for the fireworks show. We'd booked our dinner at 7:20pm. Worked perfectly, but we were chilled (it was April). We've also had excellent seats at the QS Mexican Restaurant overlooking the lagoon.

We're still using the alien green mickey heads from home depot paint department. I picked up mine yesterday. I'll also try to make a lime green mickey head banner for our balcony or window.

Is that everything??

Nope... Flipflopmom... I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. We'll be praying for him. what is his name?

Now.. that is everything...:dance3:

No one at the pop over the July 4th Holiday? We still have a spot to fill in our free Hop on POP fridge swap. Help us keep our fridge out of storage!

Thanks AmyZ00 and HicksWDW for your advice I really appreciate it.

You are very welcome! :)

We can all now say we leave next month! Yay!:yay:

YAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!:yay:

We found out today that my Daddy probably has kidney cancer. He only has one kidney due to complications from kidney stones about 40 years ago. They are running more tests Friday, and he goes back to the doctor 2 weeks from today. THe doctor is suggesting removing his kidney, and he would be on dialysis 3 times a week. He's also diabetic, has a rare blood antibody, and a hemphilian, so any surgery is scary. I am so worried.

Of course, our trip also looms in my mind. My girls would be devastated if we don't go, with all the build up happening around here. We have 39 days, and I just don't know. The doctor may want to schedule the surgery pretty quickly, so I would feel okay about going if he's been recovering for a few weeks, but I can't see me being 12 hours away during the surgery with all his problems...

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. I will keep you in my prayers. Hopefully the test results will come back negative. Hang in there.

Bellhop - $5 plus $1 per bag :)

Oh, I forgot all about that one!

I am so flippin' excited about our trip!!!!

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

I just bought our plane tickets today... so it is official!!!!!

Got our ADR's and everything all set up!

Do people still use the home deopt green mickey head as luggage tags to identify themselves as a DISer?

I wish there was a way we could all sit down for a drink somewhere ....know what I mean?:lovestruc

Yep, lots of DISers still use them. A drink meet - sounds great! :thumbsup2

I paid off our trip on Friday - so I hope our info will come soon too!

:woohoo: Congrats! Me, too!!! :woohoo:

I leave on 7/7. Because I won this trip, it's messed up me being able to contact them on a few things. It appears that my 'contact' messed up and instead of putting my address on things (like my hotel reservation and plane tix) she put her office address in the reservations. I found this out when I went to make ADR's. She also put her office phone number on the reservations...making it interesting for me to try to find out anything, as I don't know her office phone number.

I think I'm going to have to try to call them and make sure they have the correct info.

You have both mine and Janet's prayers. It is a very difficult thing to face and I will pray for positive news. Please let us know how the tests go. I was surprised that the doctor was going to wait 2 weeks before seeing him again. I would want to know the results yesterday!

Maybe it will all work out and nothing will need to change. That was a big worry for me because of the kids we are taking with us. I never felt so guilty but if we had to cancel I don't know that we could have rearranged the tip when the kids could attend. We are now taking Janet's mom with us in a picture. Before she passed she told me that she had no desire to ride the tower of terror so I will need to find a way to hand off her picture when I ride this ride. Just part of our coping with the loss.

On a happier note Welcome to our newcomers. I will add you to our list this weekend. It can be found on page 3 post 39 if you care to check it out. The list of ADR is at the top of page 67 (I believe). Lois

Flipflopmom,
My mother and father had to cancel last year due to her getting cancer. She is okay now thank god, but all she was worried about was that she had to cancel the trip on us!! lol. At times she says she wishes she would have made us go, but I know that in my heart she was glad we stayed.

Please send me his name so that I can put him on our prayer wall!
Jenny

My birthday is 7/19 & I'm REALLY trying to convince DH that he needs to take me! He says no way because it's way too hot! Is the humidity really that bad in July too or is it just HOT? I'm so jealous of all of you! Anyone from Seattle going that I can squeeze into your suitcase?? :rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

Hi all! Haven't checked my mail yet, but am hoping for my Disney docs to be there! Hope you are all doing well and enjoying a good day.

No, its not the heat really. 92 I think is the average high. So its not like phoenix or something. Its the humidity. Its stiffling. Curly hair will frizz, straight hair will flatten. Its a bad hair month!!:rotfl: To cope, you buy a fan that spritzes water, spray yourself constantly, use sunscreen that is water proof and drink water or some beverage all the time. Wear shorts and tank tops with flip flops or Crocs. You can do it!!

Ditto what Mindy said! It's totally do-able! I will admit that, living in central Georgia, I thought I was totally prepared for the humidity. Um, no! I was surprised by how much more humid it was there than here. But we were prepared with misting fans, plenty of water, sunscreen, hats/visors, and lightweight clothing.

My DH coaches high school sports and spends LOTS of time out in the heat and humidity during the summer and swears by those CoolMax-type shirts by Nike, Adidas, and other companies that are supposed to be really cool and wick away moisture and he said that made a big difference for him when we were at Disney -- he said he could feel a difference on the days he wore those shirts vs. the day he wore "regular" t-shirts. In fact, he said this year he won't take any other kind of shirt. I might pick up a couple of shirts out of that fabric for me and test it for myself (all in the name of good Disney research -- I'll gladly shop! LOL). My older DD has a couple that we bought for her for track and cross country so she'll probably take those.

It feels so good to cross things off of my "to do" list -- our trip is only about 6 weeks ago...so much still to do! I now have all of the arrangements made for our pet/house sitter (had to line up a second person to cover part of our trip since the first person now has to go out of town for a wedding); updated my trip planning spreadsheets, picked out paper/cardstock for my new park day planner (the one I carry with me every day in the parks) and my DDs picked out paper/cardstock for their autograph books; got a Disney font cartridge for my Cricut so we can put our books together; figured out which luggage we're taking (I know that shouldn't be a big decision, but it's a huge thing to DH, LOL); finalized the items to be put in my girls' welcome baskets with Betsy (memoriesbybetsy).

Next items to cross off: pick up LGMHs at Home Depot (hope to do that tonight -- didn't get it done Saturday), put together day planner and autograph books, buy ponchos and glow sticks/glow necklaces/bracelets, and make up mousekeeping envelopes and get those stuffed and ready.

Also, I want to arrange with the Disney florist to have a gift waiting in my parents' room -- one of those insulated lunch box type things with candy bars and sodas (on their website). Has anyone ever used the Disney florist before? I am hoping they'll switch out about half of the items with sugar free or diet items since my Mom is diabetic. Do you think they will?

So much to do!

OK - I think I have decided upon trying to get dinner ADR's to Crystal Palace & Akershus (I don't even know how to pronounce it). I think the kids will really like to see the princesses & characters. Do you think I will get lucky and get reservations?

What do you think about the choices? :upsidedow

What does everyone think about sharing their trip reports? I would love to see everyone's plans for our upcoming July trips. I might even get some ideas and make some changes.

Tara
