OFFICIAL JULY 2009 THREAD!!! (Part 2) It's here!!

I'll be single digit dancing tomorrow night...if I even have the energy to dance! I've been nonstop running around for this wedding, there are SOO many little things to do that you really have no idea until you have to do them! I feel like I'm not giving as much attention to my trip as I normally would have. Did I say that already yesterday? I feel like I'm losing my mind!!! :bride:

I still have to update the park hours on my itinerary, pick out and pack my outfits and print magnets for the cruise portion of the trip. I just can't wait to RELAX!! :drinking1

Wow!! This brings back memories. We went to WDW 12 years ago on our honeymoon. I remember running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Before you know it, it will be over. Enjoy every minute of it. Even the stressfull planning. You will look back on it with fond memories. :goodvibes

Hopefully we will run into you at the Wilderness Lodge next week. :thumbsup2

Thanks!! Look for me in my bride ears!! :thumbsup2

I'll try to give you the short version:
Girl 12 boy 17,VERY bad home life, tried to just mentor/help out to get them to school-always out or late to school, mom on drugs just let me have them pretty much when they got thrown out of their rental home and we've had them ever since with no financial help from the mom. Definitely not the way one would want to go about it. It kinda just fell in my lap. But they are doing really well now so we really want to keep them.:lovestruc

You are a very special person! They are both very lucky to have you.

I see you are from Roll Tide Country!!! Roll Tide Roll!!! :cheer2::cheer2:

Instead of packing, my wife is rearranging our bedroom. :scared:

She leaves in 7 days. SEVEN DAYS!!!!!!!!!! :scared1:

I will miss her so. princess:

Aww how sweet! I always have to do things like that right before we leave too. My house has to be spotless before I go!

I kind of wish my girls would stay away until we leave - MY HOUSE IS CLEAN! I mean, vacuuming out the baseboards, cleaning the light fixtures, washing the windows, getting rid of dust bunnies under beds CLEAN! They'll be home in a bit. oh well, it was nice while it lasted. Did a microderm treatment on my face, got foot mask on my feet, propped up on the desk!

I read a few pages back a question about Reef flip flops -I've heard good things about them, but I have to put my two cents in on Teva Mush flip flops! Like pillows for your feet! LOVE:lovestruc them!

Thanks for the info! I am going to check out the flip flops now! :goodvibes

Footwear??

Has anybody tried wearing Reef flip flops in WDW? They looked cute and I love to wear flip flops, but my Old Navy ones definitely didn't do the job last year

I have worn the Teva Mush flip flops at WDW and loved them, I bought more for this trip. But...I also bought two pairs of the Reef and I am taking them too. Just wearing the Reef around the mall and shopping I think I may like them a little better. So much so I bought the DH Reef for this trip. ;)

I'm sitting right beside you on the worry wagon. There's a nasty virus going around town and I'm so worried that one of us will catch it. Also, DH has been bitten by a tick and stung by bees several times over the last couple weeks.......after a round on antibiotics for the tick bite, his arm is still bothering him. I'm worried that he'll be sick from that while we are in Disney.

It's so stressful trying to make sure your family has a stress free vacation. :rotfl: Lol!

DS 14 woke up yesterday morning at 8am which was the first clue something was wrong. Then he asked to go to the doctor which was an even worse sign. He tested positive for strep and a sinus infection! :scared: He is now on antibiotics for 10 days and will still be taking them when we leave. Now I am worried sick that DD will end up with this close to time to leave.

I have been so pre-occupied these last few days that I haven't had time to catch up with you guys until now. The FIL is in town staying with us and has been since Sat. I have my plate full right now. You guys need to slow down so I don't have to work so hard to keep up. :rotfl:

My girls and I will be wearing my Crocs again on this trip -- Malindis. Love, love, love, love them. DD10 wore flip-flops one day on our last trip but her Crocs were much better.

Me too!!! I love the Malindis! I have three pair - brown, black, and navy - that I will be bringing along with a couple of pair of my Old Navy sandals. DS will have on his black Crocs, DD9 will have on her Disney Crocs, and DD12 will have on her pink Crocs. DH will be the only one not wearing Crocs - he does not like them at all.

With the free dining starting in August, does anyone think the July crowds will be a little smaller?

Let's keep our fingers crossed! That would be awesome if the parks were less crowded!

Sorry! My children are demanding that I do the single digit dance. They chose the jumping icons.

So cute! Congratulations on the single digits!!!

Everyone did get their haircuts today and I got a pedicure with green mickeyheads on my big toes:rotfl: Keep the house clean and laundry done everyday now......I read of several people on other threads who switched their reservations to get the free dining. Let's hope it's enough to make a difference

Great idea - the pedicure! You need to take a picture and show us!

Hopefully switching reservations means smaller crowds!

Does anyone know where the current crowds pictures/comments are located? I can't seem to find them.

Thanks!!!! :)

Well, it is 2:00am. I am stick wide awake. I went to Target with DD21 and I got a latte (and coffee cake) at Starbucks. It wasn't until I was about 3 sips from the last that I realized that I hadn't asked for DECAF!!! OMG... I will be up ALL night. UGH!!

I've just paid DD21 the nearly $800 that I owe her that has accumulated over the last few months. She will often pick up groceries or buy stuff for me at Target with her employee discount, and charge it. Then I pay her back. But she has to present the bill with all the receipts in an organized manner. Which is why it takes her 6 months to get them to me. She loses receipts big time, and we won't pay it unless it is obvious. That is supposed to teach her to keep better track of her finances. :confused3 but alas!

We are now officially leaving tomorrow.

I really envy you folks who have super clean houses. My house (except for my newly organized closet) looks like a tornado touched down. We have looked all over and can't find the charger for my camera!! I can charge it with the base, but I can't charge the extra battery. The camera has to be 'busy" in the base, so its not my preferred way to charge. Oh.. and DH said that he still can't find the spare key fob for my van. So in addition to going to AC Moore, AAA, the Chiropractor, battery warehouse (Disney watches need new batteries), I have to go to the Chevy dealer and get another key. He rightly, doesn't want to set out for vacation with only one of us having a key to the van.

Nikki, I have added an ADR. I tried the online method and once I found it, it worked great. Even linked it with my room reservations. We're at Rainforest in DTD on Friday the 17th at 1:00pm for lunch. I'm meeting my cousin for dinner on Saturday the 18th, but we haven't decided where yet.

You will have such a wonderful time. I said the honeymoon was the reward for the hard work of the trip. Take it from me, enjoy every second of the wedding. I remember when the ceremony itself was over, DH and I looked at each other at the back of the church and said "that's it? All that work, and that's it?? Let's go to Disney World!"

Why don't you call the doctor and ask for a just in case prescription for her, so you'll have it and can give it to her at the first sign of illness, especially if it happens while you are gone!

Well, it is 2:00am. I am stick wide awake.
We are now officially leaving tomorrow.

I woke up at 4:30, and I know there is NO going back to sleep for me! We leave in 18 hours!
:banana::banana::banana::cool1::cool1::cool1::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay: One for each hour!
I can't find the lens cap for my camera. I just gave up!

Lots to do today. Get up all the trash, finish all the laundry, change sheets on the beds, paint my fingernails, get the girls' car stuff ready and in the car, give dog instructions to dog sitter, visit my parents, and then the run around before we leave with attention to details like "you're sure the fridge is closed."

We were worried that we had waited too long to take our oldest. She'll be 10 in September, and she started out being too cool for school, more excited about the rides than the magic. Last night she asks to use the computer, and typed a letter in Waltograph to give to Mickey tomorrow night at Chef Mickey's that says she's waited her whole life to meet him, and has been excited since we told her at Easter. She even signed it "Have a magical day, and With Pixie Dust," I almost cried!

Speaking of shoes, let me just say from experience, take at least 2 or 3 different types of shoes. I had a bad experience year before last when all I took was 2 pairs of croc capri flip flops. My brown pair were so comfy that I bought a white pair. For some reason they didn't feel the same(not quite as cushy and a little off on the size). Needless to say, the white ones rubbed a huge blister on the back of my heel(on the edge between bottom and back so a bandaid would not stick:mad:) and I really needed to wear something else, but didn't have anything. Now I know, no matter how much I love one pair of shoes, I will always have several other options just in case. This has been a DIS public service announcement.:rotfl:

You guys have GOT to watch this. It totally relaxed me, made me cry. I can't wait to leave! This is what I needed this am. A mom posted this of her family with questions about videos, why CM's won't dance, etc...

Thank you for posting this. I would love to do something like that sometime.

I am going to pull up this post when the DH complains of my 7 pairs of shoes. At least it is all sandals/flip flops so they won't take up that much room.

OMG you are right. This video is awesome. I'm leaving in 10 hours. What a great way to get psyched for our trip. we don't have any younger kids anymore, our youngest is 16. He would be the older child shaking his head and refusing to cooperate!:cool1: He's too cool.

The video is very creative. Thanks for the link!
