OFFICIAL JULY 2009 THREAD!!! (Part 2) It's here!!

Lois - you and Janet will love the decorations! Make sure you see the Candlelight Processional - it is really beautiful. There is nothing like Disney decorated for the holidays!! Where will you be staying? If you get a chance to tour the resorts they are beautiful too. We stayed at WL but toured all the monorail and Epcot resorts.

I'm still here, of course! I went in school a few days to start setting up my new classroom. I had to move upstairs and start from scratch with the set-up! We don't officially start until after Labor Day, though.

I got my Photopass Photobook in the mail today!!! :cool1:

How did the Photobook turn out?

Im here! Just been uber busy loads have gone on since getting back- and vins sister is due anyday!!

I have to head back to work the first to decorate- and just got plenty of decorations- moved to a huge room (My old one was a closet...literally) so this is great!

Enjoy your new huge classroom!

Hey, I am here too! We started last Wednesday. A student in another K class broke his arm on the playground yesterday, requiring surgery. What a great start!

Dad is finally going to have his surgery on Monday. His blood test results didn't help much, so back to square one there. Keep on praying everyone! It will be a scary time, hope he doesn't bleed too much. I'll try to update from the hospital, it has Wi-fi. I'll be on my Itouch, so forgive the looks of it. It takes me forever!!!!

Also, our county is going to use some stimulus money to give us a tuition free masters program, with all the classes either online or here in our small town, so even though there is a LOT going on right now, I decided I'd be crazy not to. WHAT WAS I THINKING???????:confused3 So in three years, I'll have my masters in curriculum and instruction!

Wow -- lots going on for you! I hope your Dad's surgery goes well -- he'll be in my prayers. Congrats on starting your master's degree -- that's great!

Janet and I are going back in December. Just can't stay away.

I'm so jealous -- I really, really, really want to go in December and see the Christmas decorations. But since I already talked DH into the girls and I going to MNSSHP and we're having a big family reunion/Christmas get-together at a cabin in the mountains in December, he won't let me do a WDW trip, too. I already told him we're going to go to MVMCP next year so I can see the Christmas decorations. LOL

I am here too. I have been running my daughter to and from band camp. School starts next Wednesday. December - what a great time to go back. I wish we were going that soon! It looks like we will be back for spring break.

What instrument does she play?

I start back on Wednesday. The students at my school start on the 31st. My children attend a small Parochial school and they started this past Monday.

It's so sad that we're all back to school....too bad the summer couldn't last a little longer.

I'm not a teacher... I used to be a sub. I help in the classroom once a week. But we don't go back until Sept 8th, so I haven't had a chance to volunteer for anything yet. I've got my DD21's wedding a week from Sunday, and it sstress city!! So much to do. I wish I'd had 6 months to plan instead of 6 weeks!!! I really wish I could go back this fall. Just found out this week that DH has nearly 30 days of vacation to burn before mid Dec. because his company is changing their vacation accrual system. If I only had the money right now.. and the points... we're out of points for the year. But a months worth of vacation.... wow... what we could have done. Of course, with the kids starting school, its not like we can just take them out for a month or even a week. I'm so bummed. :guilty: We'll have to take a stay-cation and scrapbook my Disney Pics and view all your pics.

Wow -- 6 weeks to plan the wedding?! Stress! It will be beautiful, though. Good luck with it and let us know how it goes. I know what you mean about wishing for the money to go for 30 days...wow, that would be amazing. I have the vacation time at work (DH doesn't unless we go in the summer), but the cost is a totally different issue!

That is an awesome Idea now I just have to find the time to visit all the resorts. We are staying at Allstar Music again. I just can't spend the money on a room when we are not there that much.

I'm here...dragging in at the last minute but here. My kids have been back in school a week and a half now so we have had some adjusting to do around here. DD doesn't handle change well (that is being kind) so 5th grade has been a little stressful for ME! DH started new work hours the same time the kids got back in school and football started up. Between all of that I was called in to sub the 3rd day of school, yes day 3 they needed a sub. Happens to me every year.
I am trying my best to keep up with all the trip reports, write my own trip report, and thanks to Tom I am now hooked on this FaceBook thing!! :surfweb: I think I need to set up multiple computers so I can surf faster! :rotfl:

Lois, I think it's great you get to go back in Dec.! You and Janet have a great holiday with the Mouse!

Jenny congrats on the new classroom! And on Vins new job!

Mindy good luck with the wedding, I'm sure it will be beautiful! Post pics on your facebook page.

Tanya I am so excited that you get a bonus trip this year!!! It will be fun even if you can't sneak in a Disney day.

Nikki congrats on your new classroom and I can't wait to hear how the photopass book turned out!

Taryn I hope everything goes well with your father, you're in my thoughts and prayers!

Tom I saw the pics of West and his new teacher! He's so cute! What a little man you have, you should be very proud!

Wendy you sound like me, running those roads for the kids extra activities! Gets crazy doesn't it?

Stephanie, you gave me nothing to comment on. :rotfl: I'll just tell you how proud I am that you made that salmon last night. Yuck! You did score some serious wife and mom points!

I'm still here! :goodvibes

tonight DBF and I made New England Clam Chowder, from the wdw cook book we bought in July :lovestruc
it was amazing!! Just like the one from Cape May Cafe.

Nice to keep in touch with everyone from the board :cutie:

Emma princess: x x

109 days til next wdw trip... why won't the days go quicker?! ;) x

Still here.

Going back to work wednesday. I think they kids start on the 31. Well the first 2 years of high school. We give them one day without the bigger kids to adjust to the school which is huge.

I work in the biggest high school (student population wise) of the province.

I was always amazed when DH was a sub that he would get called in to work on the first day of school! How crazy is that?! I hope your DD gets settled in to 5th grade quickly. My younger DD is in 5th grade, too. It's been an adjustment for her. And yes, salmon -- yuck! I doubt I'll be doing that again anytime soon...but they were very happy and said it was yummy. I just had to hope it tasted good since there was no way I was going to do a taste test before I served it. LOL

Emma -- I love clam chowder! I know, it's weird that I don't like fish (at all) but I love clam chowder. What can I say -- I'm strange. Which cookbook did you buy? My Mom and I each bought one -- I got "Delicious Disney" and she bought the blue and white one (I can't remember what it's called). We've made a few things so far and they've been really good.

How many students do you have in your school? I think that my school will have the smallest population this year. I work in an inner city school and they are tearing down the public housing where 70% of my students live and they are relocating them.

FYI- I was also an art teacher for six years before I became a school counselor. I majored in painting and got my teacher's certificate after. I miss it.

hummm I'm not sure of this year's population. We are going down a bit, then going up again next year. I will wait for the general assembly wednesday to tell you. If that's alright with you! :)

I love teaching art. I feel so relaxed, and in my element. I love putting music on (yup I need a background), and talking to the kids. They love to hear about my life, and I like to learn about them.

Though I miss having time for my art production, you know :)

Hey everybody! We just got our Photopass CD back, and I  the pics! I just posted a bunch of them on my TR linked below, starting on page 4 if you want to see!

Hey everybody. Daddy's surgery got postponed....AGAIN! This time due to a death in the surgeon's family. Should be rescheduled within the next two weeks..... And I thought EE was a roller coaster!

Oh no!!!! :sad2: I hate that they postponed it again, I guess this time they really do have a valid reason. You never know, this could end up being for the best. We never know God's reasoning for these things. :goodvibes

Hey everybody. Daddy's surgery got postponed....AGAIN! This time due to a death in the surgeon's family. Should be rescheduled within the next two weeks..... And I thought EE was a roller coaster!

Wow -- definitely a rollercoaster! Continued prayers for all.

I am now the mother of a 15 year old (as of today) and she'll be getting her learner's permit tomorrow. As I was thinking about ADRs for our trip in October, I realized that I need to put her age in the age blocks as 15 now, not 14. Makes me feel old!

DH has decided that he is definitely not going with us to MNSSHP in October. The girls and I are sad about it, but at the same time, DH doesn't care for parades or fireworks and we're really looking forward to both of those at MNSSHP. Also, DH doesn't like to shop and so we're also looking forward to some Mother/Daughter shopping time. Some friends of ours are going that same weekend so they might go to MNSSHP with us on Friday and the water park on Saturday. They're trying to talk us into getting tickets to Universal and going there with them on Monday and Tuesday and staying at the condo they've rented with them for those last few nights. I don't know...we'll see. Spending $100/person on tickets after MNSSHP tickets plus two nights at the Disney hotel plus meals...I think DH might not be really happy if I turn this "quick, fairly inexpensive" weekend trip into a 4 1/2 day all-out trip. He might cancel Christmas! ;) We'll see. I've also never been to Universal (although DD15 has for a band trip) and I'm just not sure if it would be a left down after being at Disney...

I am sorry to hear that - it is hard when you get prepared and then postponed. Hang in there - I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

I know how you feel - my DD turns 16 in November! Here in PA they cannot get a learner's permit till age 16 - and I still think she is not ready (and neither am I!!)

Today is West's first day of Kindergarten!!

Tom he is adorable!!! What a little man!! I do have a question though...you sending him out to walk to school? :lmao: That is the first thought that came to mind when I saw that second picture, too funny!

Our stay-at-home-mom neighbor walks her girls to school everyday, so West is going to walk with them. He was walking across the street to their house. My wife right behind him, just out of the picture.

We normally don't let him cross the street alone, but it was such a good picture.
