Official July 08 Code Watch Thread...FINALLY!!

I am hoping for a discount or code also in July, today I booked the Dolphin for 7/19-7/26 but would rather stay at POFQ for the week before. I had to book the Dolphin for that week because they were fully booked the week before.

Last year we vacationed at POFQ 7/17 thru 7/27, the South American tour groups were horrendous. They were everywhere, we were at Fantasmic and they chanted back and forth between all the groups until the show started. My sons were very put off by the groups and the chanting.

Do you mean the Brazilian groups were staying at POFQ? Because if you did, I may have to change my plans. I need my sleep

I don't know if the Brazilian groups only come to WDW at certain times or not, but we did see quite a few of them during Christmas one trip. So, I don't think that July is a particularly "bad" time. Just keep in mind that even though they're VERY obnoxious, you're in the "Happiest Place on Earth" and the percentage of them are small compared to everyone else there. You'll have a great time whether they're there or not!! We did!!

anyone heard any rumors of a code coming out yet? I ordered a new dvd hoping one would come in the mail for me...it didn't work. the dvd only said, it's great to see you're planning a trip in july.

From what I have heard most July codes don't come out until May. However, with the way disney is putting out codes and discounts it may be earlier. Just keep your ears open and eyes on the DISboards they never steer you wrong!

IMO during our past trips (we've been to WDW in July 4 years running) July is definitely a "bad time" if you are baseing it strictly on the Brazilian tour groups. This is especially true during the 2 middle weeks in July as the huge groups of teens with only 1 flag carrier (chaperone ) are out in force. One evening at Fantasmic they took up 2 whole sections of the auditorium and the chanting was unreal

However, I wouldn't let the BTRs stop me from going during that time I just concentrate on being in the magic of being in WDW and try to ignore the poor actions of others when at all possible

I'm hurting for a code as well. I can't fathom paying $151 for a value--it jsut isn't goign to happen for me and I need one night beofer and and 1 night after amy DVC stay (airfare was less expensive than to have it when I have the DVC booked for)

I called this week and booked July 14-17 at POFQ. When I asked about any deals coming out. If it was slow. She said they were busy, but I dont know if they are busy booking the summer or Free Dining.

Patsal - I also booked a budget resort as a buffer for my DVC trip. I haven't done this before. Have you had luck with codes for one night stays like this in the past? Those dang weekend points are EXPENSIVE!!!
