Official July 08 Code Watch Thread...FINALLY!!

I just hung up with CRO (407-W-DISNEY) ..... went through the normal booking process --- got a WONDERFUL CM "Crosby" ....... managed to book 3 nights at the GF Garden View 7/3/08 - 7/6/08 at $339 plus tax per night -- Grand Total $1,144.14 for all 3 nights!!! :cool1:

That is a substantial savings for us!!! :teacher:

So ....... YES!!! ...... there ARE AP discounts for the Holiday Weekend!!!  and this year, they aren't limited to the Epcot resorts & DVC only!!! :woohoo:

I just booked AP rate at YC July 20 - 27 @ $229 a night :cool1: Was able to add dining planing...now I will purchase an AP!

Geez - I wasn't able to get YC, had to take BC. We're there July 22-July 30, and then move over to the Poly. I'm going to keep trying for YC though!

For all of you looking for the AP codes they are CSS with dining SJU/SJY room only! Good Luck!

I just called the A/P hotline number to see if AKL or AKV was on the list and the CM said they don't have any AP codes for any of the resorts yet for July.:confused3 Did I get a CM that's confused? Anybody else have any luck on the AP hotline?!

GUYS....don't let them tell you it's only for select resorts, it's for all the resorts, they were given WRONG info. I made them check, the CM was like oh crap I've been telling everyone wrong!!!!

I got AKL, pool view with the DINING Plan for 6 nights, July 13-19th for $2000!! Room only is $189 per night!!

Are there only codes available for people without an AP? Any hopes of people without AP staying in one of the budget resorts? :confused3 Right now, we're staying at Pop Century for $124. If we could find a moderate for the same amount that would be awesome! But, we don't have an AP....

Since my AP is currently expired, I had checked Mousesavers this morning, as I have been doing, to see if the new AP rates were out. Nothing was listed. I then got an update from this thread saying that someone had gotten summer AP rates. I immediately called Disney reservations but was told that the rates were only thru 5/21.:sad2: I pondered it for a few minutes, then I decided to try again. This time the CM said she would check and that there were new AP rates thru 8/2.:yay: :worship: . I asked which resorts were included and she said she thought it should be all of them.:) I switched from POR to WL woods view for $199/night. The AP rates that she quoted me for BWI and YC/BC were $274.00/night, which is considerably more than the last two years. I was thrilled to get WL since this resort has not been included in the AP discount for the last 2 years and it is our kids' favorite. Keep trying it you get an unenthusiastic, uninformed CM. This CM also told me that I could add the Dining Plan if I wanted, even with the AP discounted room rate.

I called back. This time I got a CM who knew about the AP rates BUT he wasn't so friendly / helpful. I asked him how many pool view rooms he had avail. at AKL for my dates and he was like "I can tell you we have at least one". Well, because I already have a cash ressie for a value studio thru DVC he would not let me book it. He said I would have to cancel the other ressie first. But since he wouldn't tell me how many rooms he had left for the AP rate I am afraid to cancel my other ressie. My luck by the time I call back it would be gone & we would end up with NO room! But the AP rate for a "pool view" would be a $146 savings for our 3 n over what we already have booked. But I am afraid to cancel what I have.

I can't tell you what to do, but the CM told me there was plenty of AKL pool view rooms, he was VERY Nice!! I had to cancel my room only ressie first too, which he did for me, then he booked the AP dining package for me. I think you would be okay...but don't wait too long! :goodvibes

:woohoo:

Changed my res to 10 night Saratoga Spring stay 7/1 to 7/11!

 :cool1: :yay: :cheer2: :mickeyjum :tigger: :sulley: :figment: :goofy: :tink:

I just called and was quoted $1803.34 for a 7 night, standard view, stay at the Boardwalk Inn. Right now we have a 7 night stay booked at the Boardwalk Villas for $2047.50 (a AAA discount rate of 20%) and I was told there were no AP discount rates available there. Since the annual pass is $204 more than a 7 day park hopper, that would only give me a savings of about $39 off what I've got now with my AAA rate. My first rough calculation tells me it's a discount rate of 30%, which is pretty good, of course. But if you have yet to purchase the AP, as in my case, it's a bit of a wash. And we were counting on the microwave in the room which we'd lose if we moved to the Inn. Oh well, I guess we'll pass and stay with our AAA rate.

Is everyone else calculating a 30% discount rate for other resorts?

Anyone now why the AP website has been down for days now??:confused3

Called this morning... got AP rate in July at Poly (Lagoon View) for $344! :cool1: :thumbsup2

11 nights at Polynesian Hotel @ $313/night (July 9-20). This is the first time we received a PIN code that we could actually use. We go every year in July so this is great for us.

When did you get your email or when did they send it to you. Just wondering if I still have a chance of getting a email.

We received it a little over a week ago. We had previously received one for April, but we go only in July each year. We probably received it because we order the Disney vacation DVD every year and register with Disney Destinations, during which they ask when you plan to travel to Disney.

With the slow economy I think there will be more opportunities for discounts this summer than in the past 2 or 3 years.

So are these discounts you all are talking about only for AP holders? Or are there discounts available for general public yet?
Thanks!

Do you currently have an AP? If so book on line thru the passholder site then call and cancel your DVC cash ressie. I did this last year and my new ressie went right thru the AP site with no problems (I screen printed the reservation/confirmation information jut in case) then I called and cancelled the other reservation. I had no problems or issues.

Yes, we currently have AP's and I tried this route. I could not find the AP discount rate for AKL on the passholder website!! When I looked under the special promotions it only offered the value & moderate resorts for some reason. :confused3 It was weird. But so I tried just selecting AKL thru the normal resort selection process and it came up with the orig. rack rate of like $285 / n or something. So I dunno. I'm sure with such limited supply the rooms are probably gone by now. We looked at the AKV models last summer and loved them so I'm looking forward to staying in the studio. I was just trying to save a few bucks - but we DID get the DVC cash discount so it's OK. We saved something.

I just noticed that there is both an ap and fl resident discount that is good until august 2nd. here's hoping something comes out for general public. I rcvd a pincode, which gave me about 14% off room rate, but I would love to get something higher...is that too greedy?
