*** Official Jollywood Nights 2024 ***

Jollywood was soooo much better this year than last year. We were on the fence about going this year, but decided to give it a try. I'm glad that we did! It was more organized, offered more things to do, and the extra hours made it less rushed and more enjoyable.
We did nearly everything and met a few rare characters, except we didn't get to Galaxy's Edge (but we did do Rise). If we rushed around, I'm sure we could have done it.

None of the characters start meeting until 7:30, right? But their lines form sooner? Wondering how early we might need to jump in line for the Mandalorian. Other than Santa Duffy, who I hope to do towards the end of the night, he's the only character my kids are likely to care about.

We met the Mandalorian during the day, so that we didn't have to wait in line that night

Baloo had almost no wait. One person in front of us. Powerline Max was about a 20 minute wait. Phineas and Ferb had a huge line, so we didn't bother with that.

Had a good time tonight. They let us in at 5:40, went straight to the merchandise store. There was a line but it moved fast, I was in and out by 6. Rode Rise (posted 40 wait; I was off the ride in 40) then Slinky (posted 40 but the wait was 15). Watched the 7:30 What’s This show, enjoyed it very much. Got a Holiday Cheer cocktail at PizzeRizzo and the chicken empanadas from ABC Comissary and got in line for Mickey and Minnie photos. Longest line I waited in all night. Rode MMRR with a short wait, then TSMM, headed toward ToT as the fireworks were starting. No line at the TipTop bar so I got a 1939 Royale and chatted and got a photo with the 2 personalities. Listened to the band a bit, rode ToT twice, Got the magic shot with Kermit and Miss Piggy but I don’t see it in my photos. 🙁 All the other ones he took are there. Had a nice view of the projections on the Hollywood Hotel while I waited. Got a mistletoe martini and watched the 11:15 holiday show. Went down the back alley for the photo op with the gingerbread guy and headed out after. Happily the Swan was the first stop on the Swan-Dolphin-Yacht-Beach-Boardwalk bus.

I had looked at the skating show and fireworks show online and decided they weren’t priorities. I rode the 5 rides on my list, saw both shows I wanted to see, and enjoyed the festive atmosphere.

Sounds like a great party. If your photo doesn’t end up showing up, I’ve had luck with the “missing photos” feature in the app. You just give them attraction, approximate time and what you were wearing.

Went last night (the 11th). Easy entry at 6:00ish. We go to DHS all the time, so didn’t do the big rides. Did enjoy the Muppets 3-D (sad it’s leaving), then we got the Chicken Empanadas and the Short Rib Taco at the ABC Commissary (enjoyed both) then walked on MMRR. Went to first show of Holidays in Hollywood, then to the Soirée at the Tip Top Club, then saw Glisten, walked around enjoying the atmosphere and went into the shops, watched Jingle Bam Jingle Jam, went to Jazzy Holidays at the Hollywood Brown Derby, saw two entertainers (enjoyed both), prices for wine were ridiculously high ($21, $16, and $15 for a 5 ounce pour), got the hot chocolate with Brownie Mickey Ears, which was good. Left at 11:00, quick bus ride back to the Swan. We didn’t do photos or characters, not our thing. Really enjoyed it, despite the cold (to us) weather. Would do it again.

Don't lose hope - our magic shot from Jollywood showed up about 12 hours later :) I didn't even know this one existed & I'm jealous!
It did show up today!
Which of these shows did you like better? I don't know if we are going to watch both and am torn on which to see. I love NBC but I don't love singalongs. I am intrigued by the retro vibe of the holiday show.
They are so different. I loved What’s This. No one was really singing. It was an imaginative presentation. Hadn’t planned on the other one but since I was in the area I went and it was fun. There are a few musicians in my family and I appreciated the live band.

We loved all the shows. I agree very few people sang during What's This. The young woman next to me did, but very quietly. My dd might have a little. She is a Jack fan and LOVED that show.

Last year we did What's This so skipped it this year. We did do Disney Holidays in Hollywood both years because changes were made in 2024 and wanted to compare. We appreciated the changes for this year because the show was streamlined and more cohesive.

My husband has only watched the NBC movie once (and asked me what was Tim Burton smoking), and he really enjoyed What's This.

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the main title song from Glisten! My new fav Disney xmas song.
It took me a while to see that the singers were actually singing and skating. Thought it was a track at first because I couldn’t see their microphone headgear. We didn’t have the best view as we didn’t get there early. It was a really impressive show and one for which I didn’t have high expectations. So fun and festive! Plus it was cold on the night of the 11th, so ice skating really fit the holiday mood.

Just wondering, can you use the “merchandise checkout” option on mde at the stores during JN so as not to have to stand in a long line to check out? I’ve never used it but would be willing during a party to save precious time.
