Official January 2015 Thread!!!

I am so excited to join the boards and say that we will be in Disney in January!! My mom treats each grandchild to a trip when they turn 8 years old... and my younger daughter turned 8 last November... but it was an awful year for us as my sister was diagnosed with cancer in February and passed away in September, so it just wasn't the year to travel. (BTW she was a huge Disney fanatic and spent a LOT of time on these boards learning new things and sharing her tips and excitement, so thank you for making these boards such a great place to be!!!!) My mom told me the other day that she thinks we should go in January and I jumped at the chance. I can't wait to see my daughters face when she sees the castle for the very first time, and sees the characters and just experiences the magic for herself. My sister passed her immense love for Disney on to me, and since her passing I find myself more and more infatuated with the whole experience so I know that even though this is time #4 for me coming up, it will be the BEST experience.... because I know just how much the magic meant to her. It wasn't just a trip. It was a dream.

We will be arriving at the end of January and checking out early February. I'm pretty sure that all of our ADRs are set (we used a TA for this trip but for the next ones, I think - with the help of this board - I can do it on my own! The TA is a personal friend so I trust her and know she has lots of experience). This will be the first trip for my children (8 and 5) and the second for my DH. I am a former CM (2 different times!) who hasn't been back since '97! EEK!

Staying at BLT SLV Jan 22-30. The 23rd is our anniversary and will be in Epcot to take advantage of EMH. Does anyone have any suggestions of dessert parties, or small private things I can plan to surprise DW? She is the planner in our house, and has been planning this trip since our Jan '13 trip.

Booked 5 nights (Jan.7-12) at the Beach Club (concierge level). Never have gone in Jan. Usually go at the end of August. But, with daughter going to college and other daughter has field hockey. We had no other time to go. Looking forward to less crowds and it not being 90's and humid.

Sounds awesome! I'm going right after my daughters 5th birthday and she talks about Disney all the time. My son will be 1.5 and I don't think he'll be a fan quite yet, he does know who Mickey and few others are already.

Will be there from January 11th to the 18th. Now just need to decide where to stay. We are considering bumping up to a deluxe this time and hoping for a good discount of course. Any rumors as to what the January discounts might be?

We will be flying in Jan. 1st and staying for 11 days! Split stay - POR, WLV, then SS. Can't wait to start 2015 at WDW!! And did I mention that I'll be celebrating a birthday then?

I think I have my plans all 'set' now to wait for FP+ to open in November for me and then I can redo all of the planning that went into this trip so far to accomodate what I get. LOL!!!

I'm kinda hoping that a discount is offered and I can talk my mom into upgrading from a value resort to a moderate!
