*********OFFICIAL January 2015 Thread - COME CHECK IN!!! ***************

I hear you about it being forever. Keeping it secret from my daughter is killing me.

Good on you for actually keeping the secret though - we were planning on doing that, but without the kids excitement, it ended up causing me more stress than anything - I really just wanted to include them in on the planning etc, as that, to me anyways, is half of the fun in planning a Disney Vacation!! :goodvibes

Oh! And we decided on a resort - Paradise Pier! :cool1:

Yes, January seems so far away! I wish DL's calendar would go out even by 90 days. Then I could really start to plan! Think my husband and I will make a reservation for Napa Rose one night. Then our usual...Café Orleans, Minnie at Plaza Inn, and Carnation Café.

I'm searching the rumor mill for discussions of refurbishments. Crossing my fingers that either WOC or Fantasmic will not go down at the same time. We are purposely going early in hope of seeing either or both. The 60th anniversary preparations may through a wrench into that plan, but at least we will see IASW and SM before they probably go into refurb on the 20th. I love having the opportunity to see the holiday overlay of IASW, simply gorgeous!

Can't wait to see the classic look of HM! The last couple of trips we have been there for the overlay. Love NBC, but nothing beats good old HM! :lovestruc

Here is the rumor list I found.

We'll be there January 27-30...myself, hubby and 4-year old son. We're staying at the new Springhill Suites at the corner of Katella and Harbor. It's our son's first time to any Disney park and we haven't been since college in 2000 (pre DCA). We haven't told our son yet...we're thinking of telling him we're going on a work trip with daddy, then surprise him when we get to Anaheim. :)

I'm thinking up meals & reservations I want to make/price out and I'm wondering if there's anywhere you guys really love to eat?

We're doing our usual Minnie's breakfast and Cafe Orleans. My boyfriend loves the pasta at boardwalk pizza & pasta so we'll probably grab that sometime too. And I'm a big fan of Hungry Bear so that'll be on the list as well.

I kind of want to try some new places since it will probably be our last trip for a little while, but then we really love our favorites so it's a tough decision lol

We are booking lunch at the Blue Bayou and Ariel's Grotto. Our daughter loves the whole Princess meet and greet experience. Plus Ariel is her favourite Princess.

We're doing breakfast at Surf's Up, but I think that's the only reservations we're going to book. Everything will be counter service or table service at the park or downtown Disney. Our hotel provides a hot breakfast too.

Blue Bayou for sit down and for counter service Jolly Holiday. My dtr is GF. She loves the bread and dessert options there.

We will be there Jan 7-13. Staying at either Park Vue or Tropicana. We will be there for our youngest DD's 1st Birthday!

Welcome AndreAggie, CdnCarrie & travelbug08!!!

I did it today!! Booked Paradise Pier from Jan 19-22!!! SOOOOOO excited!! I had been experiencing some "cold feet" about our California trip for about a month or so now, and I couldn't figure out why....then it occured to me, it was because I really wanted to book a DL hotel! So, I booked it!! :)

Welcome bellrae!! I am so excited for our upcoming trip! The only thing I have tentatively confirmed is that on the Wed of our trip (Which will likely be the CA extra magic hour, is that what it's called in DL?) we will be there for rope drop to get in line for RSR!!

Ok, so pardon my lack of knowledge on the acronyms for DL - but what is IASW and SM??? :confused3

We'll be there - Me, DH and 2 x DD, along with my brother's family of 4. All staying at the DLH. It will be my brother's family first trip in more than ten years...hoping there won't be too many refurbs! :goodvibes

I'm excited. I will now be staying Jan 3 - 13 instead of the 3-12. Convinced my daughter to spend an extra day. Never can have too many days!!!

We are a family of 5 and will be in Anaheim from 5 Jan to 11 Jan staying at How John. Never been to US :)
