*** OFFICIAL January 2013 Thread ***

January is a great time to go, too! Esp late January as you are probably going to have nicer weather!

Thanks, I have never been that time of the year. Also I haven't been to Disney World in 3 years (gasp).

Were staying @ POP for the first time. A little nervous because this is our first value resort. I have heard that they can be more noisy, and I am a very light sleeper. Thinking about taking some ear plugs! :cool1:

We stayed at POP in October 2009. This resort is very lively with lots of people but we never had any problem with noise while trying to sleep. Good Luck!!!

Oooh just noticed this thread I'd like to join please we are heading to Wyndham bonnet creek 3rd -17th jan for my Disney moon and I'm more than just a little excited! :dancer::tigger:

Well we are headed to DW January 12 - 19. I have a conference Tues - Sat, but will have some free time. I really need to do some planning for this trip - any suggestions? I do have a quick question - how long to I have to "collect" on the reduced dining? We are staying at PC and was offered the dining plan at a reduced rate when I booked, but we hadn't planned the extra money. Trying to safe up so we can add it to our reservation but not sure we will have the extra cash before money is due. Can I still get this deal after that?

Sorry, I don't know the answer for sure but I assume like all Disney deals, there is a limit to how many rooms they offer at each resort with the deal. Also, there is probably some fine print in the deal online that you can read to see when the deal must be booked by.

I just stayed at Pop in July and found it to be really nice for a value resort. Granted it doesn't have all the extras (restaurant on-site, extra theming, etc) but it did surprise me.

I did not notice any extra noise than when I've stayed other places, including this July trip where we split between Pop and POR.

Now, if you are really concerned, I would request a room away from the pools and lobby/registration building, since they will automatically be more crowded with people and therefore, noise.

Yay -- going back to visit an old friend like Disney after 3 years will feel totally wonderful!!

I agree!

Welcome!! I'll add you to the thread. Congrats on your upcoming wedding and even better honeymoon!!

Are you both planning to wear Mickey Ears? If so, you'll get lots of good wishes and maybe a few surprises too.

After planning like mad three months ago for a February trip, last week my husband decided it would be much better (work wise) if we split the vacation between two different months. Luckily, I was abe to replace all of the ADRs, even BOG :yay:! We will be in the Fort Wilderness Cabins January 26 - February 3. How do I join the FB group?

Hello everyone!

I'll be at AllStar Music from 21st to 25th (of January of course!).
I'll be with my Hausband-to-be and it will be our first time in WDW !!!
I'm so excited!!!

We come from Italy and we only visited DL Paris (me5 times, Marco only1), so I'm little nervous cause I don't know if I'm planning correct or not.

Before to get to WDW we'll stay 8days in New York to celebrate our 4th anniversary! (on 19th)

Hope to have some advices from you, cause I really need them!!!

I've only stayed at one resort on property, having only one trip there to be honest, and it was POP. I made three requests: 1)Lake View, 2)60s Section and 3)High a Floor as posisble. My reason for making those preferences were to just have a nice view outside. Luckily I got all three!

Anyways, I was all ready to deal with the noise. But to my surprise it was very quiet up there. It was at the end of a hallway and had a great view of Hourglass Lake and more importantly Art of Animation! It was pretty awesome for only a standard room rate! :thumbsup2 So if you want to make room preferences to get that silence some people search for, I think the ones I made were perfect. :)

Hello:) Please add me to your wonderful list:) We are headed to Disney Jan 26 - Feb 4! Having a difficult time deciding on POR Royal room or AOA Nemo suite for my DD fifth birthday. We had a nice quote but i guess waited too long to book and now they are no longer offering any discount on the Nemo suites:( because it is only myself, husband and daughter going this trip I feel silly wasting 280.00 a night on a suite. It was different when the SPD knocked it down to 240's. What to do...what to do... How do I join the FB group? Excited to find this thread of Disney Family!

I think we might make a trip to Daytona while on our trip. It's NASCAR pre-season testing Thursday through that weekend. Thursday they have a fan fest and we might go and get some driver autographs.

Coming home from Florida with some new pins, a new shirt or two, some other souvenirs and treats, AND possibly Tony Stewart's autograph? Sign me up!

This is me! I just changed my user name. Other one was a bit too long. Could you please add our family to the list? I will try the FB link you sent. Thanks.

DH (37), DS (11), DS (7) and I (38) will be returning to WDW Jan 25-Feb 2 staying at All-Star Sports. This will be our fourth trip to WDW in January. The boys will be surprised on Christmas Day with the trip. We went once before children, once with our oldest was 6 and then our last trip was with both boys two years ago. We spend little time in the resort and have always stayed at Sports. This year I debated trying a moderate for just $200 more, but didn't see anything to draw me there since we have never swam during January. Looking forward to the countdown with you guys. Any ideas for surprising my kids on Christmas Day?pixiedust:

Can I ask you if you would like to share a Photopass Plus? I'll be at All Star Music January 21-25 so I can leave the PP+ card to AllStar Sport reception on 25 in the morning (I leave at 9).

:)

Hi! Thought I would pop in on this thread. My new hubby and I will be heading to DisneyWorld for our honeymoon January 5-17, spending our first 10 nights POR and then splurging on 2 nights at AKL Club Level. We have never been to DisneyWorld, but are Disneyland annual passholders from San Francisco area. We usually get to Anahiem once every 4-6 months for a quick trip but planning our honeymoon has taken on a life of its own. If anyone is willing to look over my plans for each day and ADRs, I would super appreciate it. I'm worried that I've got it all wrong.

Hi! Someone linked to this thread elsewhere and I thought I'd sign up. :) I'd forgotten there were monthly threads in here.

Our family will be in Orlando January 7-18, and we hope to do all four WDW parks while we're there. I'm the instigator, then there's hubby, DD19, DS18, DS16, DD15 and DD12. We're staying offsite because we like our space. ;) We originally planned to go in May, which is when we've gone before, but things changed. :p

January's a good time to go, right? :goodvibes I said we've gone in May before, but that's just to Orlando -- only DD15 and I have been to any of the Disney parks. We've both done a half day at the Magic Kingdom (with the Give a Day thingie in 2010) and we've both been to Disneyland -- although I was in DL in the 1970s, while DD was there in 2010. :upsidedow No one else was interested in WDW in 2010, and in 2011 they all voted for SeaWorld again. :sad1: So I'm hoping to convert a few this time around.

Sure, post away! It really is alot to plan.....and figuring out logistics is crazy. But I think the planning and organization is what keeps me coming back every year :) I'd be happy to look at your plans.

Shalom - I've never been in January, but hopefully it's a good time to go. I figure even if the crowds are bad, at least the weather won't be horrible. When my family and I went in August we almost melted and I said never again in August.

I FINALLY made my reservations for January, trudged off to my second seasonal retail job which is going toward paying for Disney, and when I take my break I find a text on my phone from my best friend who is coming with me that she got a Free Dining PIN! Hallelujah!

Does anyone would like to SHARE a PHOTOPASS ???

I'll be on january 21-25 AllStar Music ...

:)

We're going to be at Kidani from 1/13-1/21. :-). Getting so excited!

***I know this may sound crazy, but I have a 6 year old little Girl Scout Daisy who I'd love to have meet up with another little girl scout! Just for 5 minutes...was thinking maybe a patch exchange, a GS handshake, the GS promise and a pic?? Let me know if anyone is interested!!!***

Thanks!
Jen
