Hi everyone,
I am a true newbie to posting after years of lurking. I'm 42, DH (43), DS (14 &10) all looking forward to escaping the rain! Have flights (Alaska), ADR's and package (POR) all booked! We have been to Disneyland as a family 3 times and thought we would try WDW this time! I am slowly getting all my questions answered.

Otoshoney, We will also be at OKW. There are 8 of us in a two bedroom. We are staying from Jan. 24 to Feb 6 with dining. We just got our visa code and saved a total of $1,090.80 and now have park hoppers with options. Wouldn't that be fun to see a fellow diser? We will be 6 adults with 5 year old twins. We have a 4 night cruise and leave for our trip in 80 days!!!!!! I can't wait!!!:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Just booked our P&P party tickets for Jan. 26th, gonne be a great way to end our trip, keeping this one a secret from the DD's.

I asked this in another thread but I'm going to ask it here too...

I don't know what a lot of the abbreviations mean in people's posts. DD, DH, DW, DDP, HDDR, LGMH...?? Also I don't know what the abbreviations are for all of the resorts. Anyone know where I can find a list of that sort of thing so I know what people are talking about?

Anyway.....

My husband and I have been wanting to plan a Disneyworld trip for a few years now (since before we were even engaged.) Well, we're finally going to go in January! We haven't booked anything yet but we picked the dates. January 24th - 30th. We're more than likely going to be at Port Orleans Riverside. I cannot wait!! We wanted to go a week earlier but yesterday I found out that POR is completely booked on the 20th so we pushed the date a little. We are hoping to book our room tomorrow so keep your fingers crossed that there will still be rooms!

I have only been to WDW three times. 1987 (age 6), 1991 (age 10), 1995 (age 14.) Needless to say, I'm really excited. My husband has never been to WDW. We have, however, been to Disneyland hundreds of times. We used to live 10 minutes away so we'd go once a week. I'm hoping he won't be disappointed with Disneyworld. I hope he doesn't think it's exactly like Disneyland. Because I think they are completely different.

The abbreviations are D is for dearest usually, H husband, S son, D daugher, etc. DS dearest son...I personally just type son:confused3 As for the other letters, I think people just use the first letter of the words but how we are always supposed to know what they are talking about, I don't know:confused: As for the resorts, you pretty much have to know the names in the first place to figure those out. CS coronado springs, ASMo all star movies, GF grand floridian...etc.
Hope this helped;)

And yes, WDW is so different and fun. We lived in Riverside when I was little for 4 years so we went all the time. We went back again in 2000 and I loved it. It has a completely different magical feel, but not better or worse. Just different. WDW is like a big Disney city. You will love it:wizard:

DUH... JUST found this thread - I was so busy checking the Codes & Rates thread that I never looked!

Melomouse & Co. DS (turning 16) and DD(11) will be at WL from 1/26-2/3

Now how do I meet up w/ you all???

I just found this thread too!

Now that I have made all my ADR's, applied the Visa code and booked the P&PP for 1/29 I can sit back and relax (ha-ha!) and wait for our trip to
AKL from 1/26 - 2/2.

Woo-hoo!

So I booked our hotel and park tickets today! I called the first time and the lady on the phone was hard to understand/hear and she wasn't very helpful so I told her I wanted to call back later instead. I called 10 minutes later and got a REALLY helpful and nice woman. It was so much easier to book with her and I knew I was getting everything I wanted.

We're booked at POR January 24th - 30th. We requested to be in one of four specific building in alligator bayou so hopefully we'll be able to get one.

We are not using the dining package. I'm sure we could save money with it but it's not really worth it for us at this point. Maybe if we were more familiar with the parks. Not this time.

I checked which rides will be closed while we're there. I just hope they don't add more. If Expedition Everest ends up being closed I will be soooo unhappy. I'm already a little upset that we won't be able to go in Spaceship Earth. Oh well.

We're going January 20-26th :) It'll be my family of 5, plus my parents staying offsite at Windsor Hills. This is only our 2nd trip and we're very excited to go back. Today I just ordered our tickets for the Pirate and Princess Party! Woohoo!!

Well I just found this thread too! Jan 4-12!!! We are really starting to do the Happy Dance  at our house. These 2 months are going to fly with all the holidays!!!!!!!

Soooo....whos going to be there Jan 18-26? ...anyone of those there at that time going to be staying at POR?

We cant wait !! :hourglass
