Hello everyone.
I have officially signed up for the 1/2 marathon in Jan. Super excited and super nervous. With that said, I am contemplating signing up for the 5k run too. My theory is there is no way I can do the full goofy, but I am still a little goofy. LOL
Early Spring I started the C25K and finished it with a breeze. I enjoyed it so much that I signed the family up for the Halloween 5k run in Disney. I loved it but I really want a disney marathon under my belt, so my DW gave my an early Christmas gift last week and I signed up for the 1/2 Marathon.
As for training. I have continued with the running and I try to run 3 times a week. A short run, long run and a quick run.
For a short run I try and run 6-8 miles
Long run is anything over 10 miles
and a quick run is 3.5 miles under 30 min. (I know for a lot of you that isn't that quick, that is why I am working on it)
I also use the interval running. usually 10 min run with 1 min walk. It seems to work the best for me. I use my iphone and the run keeper app to guide me through the intervals.
My concerns with that is I live in Central Canada and our winters are...well Canadian!! LOL, I am not sure what I am gonna do, other than try and run out doors for as long as I can, and if I can't I will use the elliptical to continue the training.
Our local running store, has a resolution 5k run on Jan 1 and the family is signed up for it too.
Looking forward to seeing ya at the race.
Bryan.
