OK -- we've been reading this thread for about a week now...
Just want to know:
Can we leave AKL @ 4am on the Half-Marathon morning and still be able to get into the parking lot???
Just popping in to wish everyone a fantastic weekend of races. I've got a 5 miler in NYC this weekend that looks to be both icy and snowy!
Good luck everyone! I will miss you all. I'll especially miss the elation on Sunday as you enter EPCOT.
We were walking from HS to the Boardwalk Monday night and they had the sign out for mile 24 water stop. I started to tear up
As a consolation I am running the River Roots and Run half marathon on Sunday. Always wanted to do it but always had Disney the same weekend. I've never run a trail half so this should be fun.

Good luck to all.
enjoy,

Anyone out there walking? This is my first marathon. Doing the full on Sunday. I am starting to really freak out.The longest I have walked is 21 miles. Barely made it but I did it. Now I am in the tapering stage. I can keep a 15 min. pace for the first part but really start to slow down at the end. Hoping the flatness and excitement from Disney will help me pump it up a bit and carry me through.
I emailed and found out I'm in the last corral and last wave so there is no time to lose to stay ahead of the sweepers. Staying at All Star Sports resort. This thread and board have motivated me along the way since all my training was alone. I don't mind racing alone but would love to meet someone to help encourage and help keep a good pace.
Good luck to everyone. Thanks too for all the helpful info you have been posting.

Hi everyone! I love Disboards and this thread! I am new and so maybe this was addressed somewhere else.....
I'm staying at Bonnet Creek Resort. I'm running the half on Saturday. My husband will be driving me to the race, and at 5:30 he will have access to the Race Retreat. I guess he will just hang out until then.
My question is this: what time should I leave Bonnet Creek to safely make it in time and not be stressed for time?
Good luck everyone!!! Thanks so much!
Melinda
I would pull out around 3:30 at the latest. You do not want to take the direct route to Epcot. Rather, as you leave BC, turn left onto Buena Vista and head towards CBR, BW and DHS. As you pass the Hess Station, Epcot Resorts Blvd (and DHS Entrance) and then Epcot Resorts Blvd again (it loops) be in the right lane. You want to exit on World Dr North towards MK. Stay in the right lane as you head down onto World and then follow the signs to Epcot. This normmal 10 mintue drive will take maybe 20-30 minutes and traffic will start to back up a bit (or at least be heavier) as you start to get onto World Dr.
Have fun
Just found out my bib # 6129 is Corral C for the full and my wife's bib #40854 for the 1/2is corral F. One of my best friends drove to the expo tonight to get his and my family's. Thanks again for all your advice. I'll end up moving back to D to be with him as he ran with me in my 1st 1/2 stride for stride.I would guess around corral 6 or 7....
You'll find out for sure at the expo and get a better estimate. I would plan on traffic delays anyway so getting out 30 minutes too early is 100% better than 5 minutes late.
