Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

This one should be easy. OKW to FW for HDDR at 4:30 show

We will have access to a car...best to drive or take Disney trans?
If it was me? I would take the MK bus from OKW, then the boat to WL/FtW. HDDR is a short walk up the path from the boat dock. You could drive to MK, park at the TTC, and then ferry over to MK and take the boat.
Then, reverse it going back.

Hi everyone! We are staying Gw at CR next week (sooo excited!!!). We have 8:45 am 'Ohana reservations on Saturday. Do you know what time we should get the monorail? This also may be a combo restaurant/ transportation question but what time could we reasonably expect to get to Epcot using the monorail after breakfast? Thanks so much for any input.

For an 8:45 ADR, I would be at the monorail platform by 8:15. There will probably be lots of other people there too. Should take about 10 mins to get to the Polynesian, once you get on the monorail.
Going to Epcot, from the Polynesian, should take about 30-45 mins. I would walk back to the TTC, vs using the monorail. The walk should timeless than 10 mins. Then go to the Epcot line platform.

We are staying at AKL and have a lunch at Whispering Canyon on a non park day. No rental car. Should we take a bus to AK or ?? and then bus to WL?
Next day we have a last breakfast at Chef Mickey - bus to MK and then monorail?

Finally, the following week we are staying at Port Orleans French Quarter and have a dinner at 1900 Park Fare. Bus to MK then monorail?
Thanks!

That's probably the best idea. You can walk from MK, but the monorail drops you off right at Chef Mickey's.

Monorail or boat. Boat may be quicker.

AKL to WL....bus to MK, boat to WL. Or, bus to AK and then bus to WL.
AKL to CR...bus to MK, walk to CR. Walk is under 10 mins. You could spend time walking to the monorail (maybe 5 mins), then wait for a monorail, then ride to CR. I much prefer walking.
POFQ to GF..bus to MK. Then boat to GF. It's usually faster than the monorail. At least it is if there is either a boat coming in, or already at the dock.

My thought is that goofy4tink's bus/boat suggestion via MK makes more sense. It's a nice boat ride. The AK route is fine, but WL often has a BB stop on that route. We have also stopped at FW on that route as well. It makes for a long ride. The AKL bus to MK will be direct. So will the boat from MK to WL.

Of course, you could play roulette and try whichever MK or AK bus comes first. Plan some extra time for all of these resort dinner routes regardless.

I'm going to piggyback onto this question for a clarification. We are staying at the Poly and will be going to HDDR. In the past, we have traveled to MK (either by boat or monorail) then taken the boat to FW. I would like to do that again because it has always worked nicely, but my mom is now in a mobility chair. Are all of the boats that travel between MK and FW wheelchair accessible or should I be making alternative travel plans? Thanks!

** I am pretty sure the smaller resort boat from Poly to MK is NOT wheelchair accessible, so we've planned on the monorail to MK. **

To the best of my knowledge, the boats are accessible. To be 100% sure, I would just head down to the boat dock, before you plan on taking a boat, and ask the boat CMs. Then, if something has, in fact, changed, you can make alternative plans. But, the boat to the MK and then boat to FtW is the easiest route.

Most of the boats from MK to FtW are wheelchair accessible, except in times of low water, which should not be a problem this year.

I think they may sometimes put one of the small launches on the route, but I'm pretty sure that's not the norm.

What's the fastest way from MK to GF with a stroller? Monorail? Or is there a boat? We're going to GF for dinner at Narcoosee's. Thanks!! :D

The boat may be a little bit quicker (and drops you right at Narcoosee's door), but strollers must be folded. There are a couple of steps down from the dock into the boat.

The monorail shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes longer, and you can roll the stroller on and off.

Hi all.

We have an 8:05 am reservation for CRT. We are staying at POR. MK doesn't open until 9:00 that day. I've heard busses will run early, but I'm worried about missing it. Should we take an Uber? Our daughter is technically tall enough, but not old enough in Indiana, to be out of a booster seat, and I'm not sure how that would work.

Any help is awesome?

FL law says she must be 6 or older to ride without a booster seat. If she's under 6, a taxi might be more likely to take her without a booster, since taxi drivers are shielded from liability by FL law; it's debatable whether or not that applies to Uber drivers. But either way, you would technically be breaking the law.

Suggest you be at the bus stop by 6:45. It's about a 15 minute walk from the MK bus depot to CM.

Thanks! Our daughter is 7, so that looks like Uber could be the best bet to help us get a little more sleep!

The last post got me thinking, I have a BBB appointment at 8:30 on a day when the park opens at 9. They say to get there 15 minutes early. I am coming from Pop. Is that going to be a problem? I have two kids who need carseats so I don't have a lot of options.

Buses start running at 6:30 every morning - you won't have a problem getting to BBB at 8:15 using the buses.

If using these early buses, you need to keep in mind that they tend to run a bit less frequently than the regular buses do. If you just miss a bus, it could be 25 mins before the next one comes along! It's best to leave a bit more time than normal.
