Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

To get from DTD to Epcot by Disney transportation, you would have to first take a bus or boat to a resort and from there take another bus to Epcot.
From MK to GF take the boat or monorail, boat may be faster. You cannot walk.

1. Going from DTD to Epcot...what is the easiest way???

To get from DTD to Epcot by Disney transportation, you would have to first take a bus or boat to a resort and from there take another bus to Epcot.
The easiest way would be to take the bus to the Yacht or Beach Club, and then walk to Epcot's International Gateway, which enters World Showcase between UK & France. It's less than a 5-minute walk.

The Beach Club is slightly closer to Epcot, but the bus stops at the Yacht Club first ... your choice.

Hi all
Hope you can help me with this one
We are staying at WL and have a 7:30am breakfast at the Poly
Is my best option to get a cab and if so do you ask for the front desk to book you one the night before or can I just get one quickly and easily if I head down to the lobby around 7am?
The other option I considered was to hop on the boat to the CR and then get the monorail to the Poly but I wasn't sure
A) what time the boats start running - and
B) what time the monorail starts running
If I choose the second option I am guessing I need to be in a boat around 6:30am??
TIA :)

I can't say for sure if the boats are running that early. You may be able to catch a bus to the MK....are they still running between WL and MK???.....then take the monorail over to the Polynesian.
Or...just get a cab. Valet can call one for you. I would be down at valet by 7am.

I know that the boats run from WL to MK and CR; I not sure what time they start running though :confused3

I think a cab would be the best bet, do you have any idea how much it may cost?

Yes, they do run between these areas. I 'imagine, they may start running at 7am, but am not 100% sure. If that is the case, you may be cutting it too close. Figure that if the boats start running at 7am, it will take you about 15 mins to get to the next stop. If that is the CR, then you now have to walk from the dock, up to the monorail level, and wait for the next monorail to come...so, now, it's another 10 mins. Then, 10 mins over to the Polynesian from the CR. It could take a bit less time, but not by much.

A cab would run under $10, including tip, I would imagine.

Hey quick question which is the best way to get from the Port Orleans Riverside (main entry) to the Grand Floridian? I have a 7:05 reservation at 1900 Park Fare and am traveling alone this trip for the Princess Half so no rental car for me. Will be spending day at Blizzard Beach if weather cooperates so I won't be at park by the time I would be leaving to eat. Am willing to take taxi if that's the easiest but would like to try and avoid it.

By Disney transportation, if MK is still open, take bus to MK and then boat to FW, Pioneer Hall is a short walk from the dock. Allow 90 minutes.

The fastest is by taxi to the FW Outpost and then internal bus to Pioneer
Hall.
Allow 30-40 minutes, 10 minutes for cab and as much as 20-30 minutes for bus, if your lucky you wont have to wait to long for the internal bus.
Cost of taxi $14-$15 plus tip.

Thanks for the info
I will get a cab; can't be late for my Mickey Waffles!!

Hi.

Tons of pages to go through so I apologize if this has been asked already.

We'll be in Epcot for afternoon and then need to get to Trails End (not exactly sure where this is located at FtW) for a 4:45P ADR.

Best route/way to get there (and back to Epcot after dinner)?

Thanks!

Trails End is in Pioneer Hall, the same location as Hoop De Doo.

From Epcot take the bus to Wilderness Lodge. At Wilderness Lodge, get off the bus, go to bus stop #1, and take the bus to Fort Wilderness. The first stop will be Pioneer Hall (also known as Settlement Depot.) The trip should take no longer than an hour, including wait times.

To get back to Epcot, take any Ft. Wilderness internal bus to the Outpost (FtW check-in and main bus depot), and catch a bus to Epcot. All buses from the stop near Pioneer Hall go to the Outpost, except the bus back to Wilderness Lodge.

I'm thinking Epcot to Hoop, monorail to MK, boat to Pioneer Hall.

Hoop to Downtown Disney I'm torn. Boat to MK, bus to DTD? Or bus from Pioneer Hall (will I have all those stops and then have to transfer buses or will there be a direct bus at the end of the show from Pioneer Hall to Downtown Disney?)

Thanks for any advice you can offer!

Just got back from POFQ on Saturday. We took a cab from POFQ to Grand floridian for an early morning (8:15 am) reservation. I figured it would be easier than the alternative which would be taking a bus to the nearest park then hopping a bus to the Grand Floridian. It was a very quick ride and it only cost 17 or 18 with tip. Definitely worth it for us to avoid the hassle.

Same suggestion as immediately previous question:

Bus from Epcot to WL, bus from WL to FtW. This takes directly to Pioneer Hall in the shortest distance & time. If you just like to ride the monorails & boat, you could monorail to TTC, then monorail to MK, then boat to FtW, but I would allow 1 1/2 hours, at least.

As for the return, there is no bus from MK to DTD; you would need to get from MK to a resort, and catch a bus there. You could take the boat or bus to WL or CR, but you would be backtracking and the bus will make another stop before DTD.

Best route is bus to the Outpost, then bus to DTD. When you reach the Outpost, you're already much closer to DTD than you would be from the MK resorts, and the bus is non-stop.

Or if they are offering buses to the resorts from Pioneer Hall, you could take the bus to PO or OKW and enjoy the boat ride to DTD. Or bus to SSR (if they will drop you at Congress Park station) and walk the 1/2 mi. to DTD.

Tried to search, didn't work, didn't read page 76 before hitting reply. :)

Great suggestions to take a peek at different resorts as well. Thanks again.

I have to disagree. I would take the bus to WL, from Epcot, then take the boat over to FtW. I absolutely hate taking the bus there.....it can be very confusing. It's the only time I get turned around in WDW. Taking the boat is sooooo easy. Get in the que for the boat to FtW (being careful not to get in one going to either CR or MK!!), then boat over to FtW...about 5 mins...get off the boat, walk up the path and you're at Pioneer Hall/Trails End...about 3 mins.

That's fine, too ... but I think it's more confusing finding the boat dock from the WL bus stop than getting on the right bus. You're not getting into the interior of FtW, just taking the bus marked FtW from WL and getting off at the first stop.
