Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

From Kidani to Whispering canyon: how and how long?

Next trip from Kidani to Mickey's BBQ...same way?

and what if I want to go hang out at fort wilderness for a while before the BBQ? How to travel then?

gawrsh, this used to be easier when it was just the MK:rotfl2:

THANX!!

Taking Disney transportation, for both, take the bus to MK then take the boat to WL or FtW (different boats). The boat dock at FtW is near Pioneer Hall, which is right next to where Mickey's Backyard BBQ is held. I don't know if there's anything worth checking out in that area before the BBQ though (I've never been to FtW), but all you'd have to do is get there early enough to have enough time to look around.

90 minutes is the standard Disney recommendation when traveling between resorts. You should probably allow all of that, as Kidani to MK is about the farthest you can go on a bus without leaving WDW, and then you're dealing with a boat.

We did receive a 9 quotes from a service instantly and some were less expensive that Disney Resort's Airport Shuttle services. However, further research is required, but they stated in the email to research the reputability of the airport shuttle service. It is this one:

I am not exactly sure what point you are trying to make here. This company doesn't serve WDW or the Orlando area.
Disneys Magical Express is a very good choice for those on a budget, or those who just can't see spending money for transport. I use it a lot.....money isn't a big deal for me, but i can't justify paying for a car service.
But, I may possibly be missing your point.

Hi! Been reading through here, and I have a question about DTD and taxis. I read that Mears will not pickup at DTD. Are there usually taxis there that we can catch, or do we need to call? Not sure how late we would be leaving, it would be during Spring Break.I don't recall seeing a taxi stand, but I haven't ever looked for one.

Thanks!

The taxis wait at the Marketplace entrance at the World of Disney, near Planet Hollywood and Cirque du Soleil.

There is a direct bus, although I suppose technically a taxi would be faster since you probably wouldn't have to wait for a taxi.

Two questions how much would a taxi would cost from Riverside to Swan and Dolphin and how long would it take?

Second question how long would it take to get from Riverside to Swan and Dolphin via bus and whats the fastest route to take?

Mears has a taxi fare calculator.

The best route via bus would be to take the bus to DHS and then walk or take the boat to the swan. It will probably take 60 to 90 minutes.

Back again:goodvibes!

Is there any way to find out what the schedule is for the buses and boats? To get from HS to DTD, we found two options we like. One is bus to New Orleans French Quarter, then take the boat. Another one I think should work is boat to Swan/Dolphin than bus (we like boats)...that wasn't listed as an option in the transportation guide. But would hate to get somewhere only to find out that they only run on the hour and we just missed it...:headache:

The other option was bus to Saratoga Springs and then walk, but not sure where the bus stops are at Saratoga, and I would have no clue when to get off...:confused3

We are going during Spring Break, so I anticipate the transportation may be crowded:grouphug:. We are going to try and ride it during off-peak times...

Thanks!

HS to DTD....bus to POFQ and then boat to DTD is a great idea. That's what I would do, especially if time is not of the essence.
A boat to the S/D (or BW) and then bus to DTD is also a good idea. The buses run to, and from, the S/D the same way they do at other resorts....every 15 mins or so...depending on time of day.
I seldom recommend going to SSR and then walking...it can be confusing since SSR is so large. If you get off the bus at the wrong stop, you could end up meandering around the resort, looking for the way out!!!

The port Orleans boats run about every 20 mins but not on a specific schedule. The friendship boats from DHS run about the same. In both cases though the lines to use these boats can be an hour long. On our last trip staying in the boardwalk area we never were able to use the friendship boats because the wait was so long even mid-day. If you are doing the Port Orleans boat you are much better off going to Riverside instead of French Quarter because the boat line starts at Riverside.

How do we get from Wilderness Lodge to the Grand Floridian for an 8 am breakfast ADR? Has anyone done that before? Any advice appreciated!

If it runs early enough, take the boat to CR, then take the monorail. If it doesn't, take the boat or bus to MK, then take the monorail. (Since the buses to MK start running at 6:30, I'm guessing that the boats to MK start running that early, too, but of course I could be wrong. ;))

Thanks for such a quick reply. Now, all I need to do is find out what time the boat/bus starts running. I would really love to take an early morning boat ride. It would be great to start the morning off that way. :goodvibes

I've read numerous times on this board that the buses to the parks start running at 6:30, contrary to what apparently a lot of CMs say, which is an hour before park opening, so I'm confident I'm right on that one. I've never stayed at WL (I have visited it), but I would tend to think that if one method of transportation to the parks starts running at 6:30, then so would another one.
