Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

Hi, I am hoping someone can help me with this.

We have reservations for Hoop De Doo at WL on May 8th at 9:30 and need the best way back to Coronado Springs after the show. My mom will be in an ECV if that helps with the decision.

Will the boat still make a trip back to MK after the show so we can get on a bus to Coronado Springs?

Any other ideas?

Thanks.

There will be buses running to the resorts after the late HDDR show. When you exit the hall, you will be directed to an area over to the right where there will be buses. Now....there won't be one bus per resort. Rather, it will be a bus for a particular grouping of resorts. So, it won't be particularly quick getting back to CSR.
If MK is still open when you get out of the show, then you can take a boat back over to MK and then a bus to CSR. Having an ECV with your group shouldn't be any more of an issue that at any other time of day.

On our July trip we plan to go to Typhoon Lagoon in the morning and stay through lunch. We have a 4:15p ADR at Yak & Yeti at AK. What is the fastest/easiest way to get from TL to AK?

I think the answer is either:

From TL take resort bus to POP, then another bus to AK.

or

From TL take bus to TTC and then another bus to AK.

Which is better (faster)? Is there a better option I haven't thought of?

I know taking a cab is probably faster, but we'd rather just stick with Disney Transportation.
There are no buses between TL & TTC, or any park. You must transfer at a resort.

You are right that Pop Century is the most direct and probably fastest via point.

The other good alternative is AKL, especially in the early afternoon when buses between Pop & DAK may be stopping at BB on the way.

Thanks for the reply.

Does anyone have an opinion on which way they would go to get back to CSR after the show?

MK is open until 11:00 that night but I don't know how long HDDR goes until.

Just a quick note, the Hoop De Doo Revue isn't at WL.... it's located at Fort Wilderness. I know, the names can be sort of confusing. You're going to the Campground, not the Lodge. :)

I would just take the bus from FtW. By the time you get down to the boat dock, wait for the boat, then go over to the bus area, wait for the bus (which will obviously be around park closing time so larger crowds) and then bus to your resort, it will probably just be easier to take the bus from FtW.

what is the fastest way to get to disneys animal kingdom lodge from both hollywood studios and magic kingdom? have a boma dinner buffet reservation both nights. Dinners is at 7 both nights so what time would i have to leave the parks by? please and thank you

The direct bus has been so fast for us we could never even get back to MK by the time we were back at our resort. It usually is just 2 or 3 resorts per bus and the walk to the buses is quite short. We did have a massively drunken family on our bus that were truly scary but at least it was a quick ride

we're planning to go to DTD one morning of our trip so DD can do BBB there before we head to EP in the afternoon. since we're staying at POFQ, i'm planning to take the boat to DTD. will we be able to get to a 10:30am BBB appointment this way, or should i make a slightly later appointment?

when we're done at DTD, is our best option to return to POFQ and then catch an EP bus from there?

I am trying to figure out one of our evenings and could use some help.

We have Whispering Canyon reservations for dinner at 6:55pm in late Oct. and I wanted to take my mom and hubby on the haunted carriage tour at Fort Wildress after dinner (We will be Epcot and take a bus to Wilderness Lodge). When I first planned it, I was thinking that they were at the same place:confused3. Is there a bus or boat that goes between both resorts? Magic Kingdom is open for MNSSHP party that night until midnight so my plan after the carriage ride was to take a bus back to MK to get back to POR.

We will have our car but I am trying to avoid using it this time to see how it goes using Disney Transportation so maybe we can fly next time but can use it if need be.

alicia - there's a boat between Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness, or there's a paved walking path you might take too. After your haunted carriage ride, there's a boat from Ft. Wilderness to the Magic Kingdom that's wonderful - gives you a unique perspective on the Contemporary and the Magic Kingdom.

shouldn't be a problem at all, and you'll really enjoy the boat ride to downtown disney! As far as from DTD back to Epcot - I'm not certain about that.... someone else will chime in I'm sure.

First boat leaves POR at 10 a.m., so it may not get you there in time to check in at 10:15. I don't know exactly how long the boat trip takes, but I'd guess around 20 minutes, and then you need to add walk time from MP dock to BBB. You could make a later appt., or take an earlier bus (allowing time for a stop at TL.)

POFQ is a good transfer point between DTD & Epcot. Or, you could walk 10-15 minutes to SSR Congress Park and get a direct bus.

There is also a bus between WL & FtW, so you can take either bus or boat. Others have posted that the walking trail gets dark at night, so only consider it if you're adventurous and bring flashlights.

I hope this hasn't been asked 1,000 times already(if so I am sorry), but I am wondering which way around the parks is easiest and fastest.

No matter what we are renting a car and driving to Disney. We are staying 6 nights/7 days and will be visiting all the parks and with the PH maybe some more than one a day. Is it faster to drive to each Disney park and park in the lot plus ride the shuttles or is it faster to bus everywhere? Any opinions are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

P.S We will be visiting 9/17-23 :)

In most cases it is faster to drive. I found it pretty easy getting around the area last month. The only park that it 'may' take you a bit longer to drive to would be MK. You would have to drive to the TTC, park your car, and then get on the tram which will take you to the ferry/monorail area. Then, you have to either ferry or monorail to MK. It is usually a bit faster to just take the bus from the resort.

I usually don't have an issue using Disney transportation...it works fairly well. But it is not always the fastest way to get from point A to point B.

Thank you for the info! So MK doesn't have their own parking lot that we could park in??

The MK parking lot is the TTC lot. It's not like the other parks where you park and then just walk to the park entrance.
You can get a bus to DHS and AK from the TTC though. And there is the monorail line to Epcot that runs from the TTC as well. It really is the central area.

Hi!
We are coming down on Friday for the first time in about 7 years- so I'm a little rusty on the Disney Transportation :-) (Plus, i've only stayed at FtW, and we're staying at POP this time... so not sure how the transportation works from there :-)
Here is our plan. What are the best ways to get around and how long should we allow to get from place to place?

DAY 1:
POP Century- AK (meeting a friend who works there) to Epcot, back to POP

DAY 2: POP- AK (again, to see a friend) to MK to HS then back to POP.

mostly trying to get a general idea of how long it will take to get from place to place, so we make sure to leave enough time and everything. Thanks!!

You will take buses everywhere. Each leg will take 30 to 60 minutes. I would plan on 60 - just to be safe.
