Pop to BC...bus from Pop to DHS and then walk or boat to BC. Or, take a cab...cost is about $10 (tip included).
Pop to WL...bus from Pop to MK, then boat to WL.

Many transportation charts are either hard to figure out or just plain incorrect. Getting from point A to point B at WDW is really pretty easy. If going from resort to resort (and you don't want to get a cab) just head to the nearest park and transfer to transportation to the resort you want to go to.

goofy4tink,

Great info! Thank you for sharing and taking the time to reply to all of us.

Super stoked for the upcoming trip!!!:woohoo::banana:

Hi, and a big THANK YOU for all the work you do to respond to all of these posts! Especially since some of them must be repeated a gazillion times...

Speaking of which, I have a few for you! :rotfl: I think I've figured out the different possibilities for transportation for each, but I'm trying to figure out the fastest, or in some cases, the approximate cost of a taxi. We're travelling with DD2 and her stroller, so I'm taking into consideration what would be less of a schlep, and be less likely to induce an "I'm tired, hot and cranky" meltdown. (I'm talking about DH! ;) )

1. From AKV to Contemporary for Chef Mickey's 5:30ish ADRs. I'm guessing we could eaither bus to AK and then bus to Contemporary, or bus to MK (long!) but I don't remember if we'd then walk to Contemporary, or if we have to monorail? I'm actually leaning toward a cab for this one, but I'm not sure how much it will cost.

2. From Beach Club (Cape May Cafe) back to AKV after dinner ADRs, at around 7pm. Again, probably bus from Y&BC to to AK and then bus from AK to AKV, but since AK closes earlier, not sure if this is doable. Or boat/bus to HS and then bus again to AKV, but that seems like a lot of transferring and waiting for busses. Any idea of approx. cost of a cab for this one?

3. From AKV to Poly for O'hana bfast at 9:10am. Bus to MK, monorail to Poly? Would we have to be waiting for a bus at dawn? Again, cost of cab? (Do you see a pattern here?!?)

4. From Poly back to AKV at 9:30pm ish. Monorail to MK and looong bus back to AKV? Or the lazy (but costly) way of another cab from the farthest away area back to AKV?

Am I missing any options? And if not, I'd love any feedback about the cost of cabs for these trips. I know they aren't exact, but an idea would help. I think I might just have to budget from that. Before DD2, DS18 went to WDW from 6 years old-13 years old and we only ever took a cab once...after Illuminations when the crowd and line for the bus was completely unmanageable.

Thanks in advance!

1. I know that when I'm at AKV, I'll be taking the MK bus and then walking over to the CR..the walk takes about 8 mins. Very pleasant. Leave AKV about 4:30ish.

2.I would boat to DHS and take the AKV bus. Not sure how much a cab would be.

3.Yep, bus to MK then monorail to Polynesian. Get a bus around 7:30-8ish.

4.Yep again....monorail or boat to MK then bus to AKL.

A lot of guests take cabs between resorts. They can be pricey though. I do know that from BC to POP (which is about an 8 min ride) is under $10. So, from just about anywhere to AKL could be about $15ish...but I could be way off base.

I agree. I wouldn't use a cab for any of these, but if you do, plan on it costing somewhere between $15 and $25 each trip.

Using Disney Bus transportation....trying to figure out what time we need to leave to make it to the parks. We are staying at POP.

Using Disney Bus transportation....trying to figure out what time we need to leave to make it to the parks. We are staying at POP.

Get to the bus stop about 40 minutes before you want to be at the park. To get there for rope drop, we leave the hotel room one hour before the park opens.

If you need to get to the park very early, like for an ADR before the park opens, you should be at the bus stop 1 hour before your ADR.

Apparently my search function is not working properly today :confused3 I need to know how to get from CB to Shades of Green to pick up military tickets. TIA :thumbsup2

We will be arriving for our first trip ever to Disney on Sunday morning for a week, and I am wondering if anyone could give us some advice without too much trouble. We have a 4 year old, but will have a stroller:

1- Monday (Apr 4) we have an 8:30 ADR fro Akershus Royal Banquet. What time would you recommend leaving, and is the suggested route the Monorail to the TTC and then transfer to the Epcot monorail?

2- Tues night, we have a 5:35 ADR at Narcoossee's at Grand Floridian, what time would you suggest leaving, and is the suggested route the Monorail from Contemp to GF?

3- Wed night, we have a 5:30 ADR at Garden Grill, what time would you suggest leaving (and same route, I presume, as 1)

4- Thurs, we have lunch at Hollywood & Vine in Hollywood Studios with an ADR at 12:30, what time to leave and route would you suggest?

5- Friday, we have dinner at Boma at the Animal Kingdom lodge with an ADR at 5:15, what time and route would you suggest?

6- Saturday evening, we have an 5:30 ADR at Ohana at Polynesian, what route (if other than monorail) and time would you suggest?

Many thanks for any advice!

There's a bus between TTC & SOG every 20 minutes, but I think you need to be a registered guest to ride it.

There's a walkway between the Polynesian and SOG; the distance is a bit over half a mile. You could take a bus to the MK, and then the Resort Monorail to the Poly. Or bus to DHS (very close to CBR), and then another bus to the Poly. Wait + travel time would be 45 minutes to 1:15 each way, not including walk time to and from SOG.

A taxi from CBR to SOG will probably cost between $15-$20 each way.

1. Yes, the monorail is the ony route, other than a cab. For an 8:30 ADR at Akershus, I would suggest being at the monorail platform by 7ish...this is when they start running. It will take time to get to the TTC, transfer to the Epcot line and then enter Epcot and walk to the furthest point from the entrance. Plan on it taking more than an hour, with waits included.

2. Again, yes to the monorail. Be out on the platform by 4:50ish...it should take you 15+ mins once you are on the monorail...so you need to plan on 5-10 mins waiting time as well.

3. Yes, same route....leave at 4:15-4:30.

4. Bus to DHS at 11:30ish.

5. Walk over to MK at 4-4:30, hop on the AKL bus, get off at Jambo House.

6. There is no other route. Leave CR, via the monorail by 5.

Getting around WDW is easier than you might think. The only time it can get messy is when going from resort to resort.

Only in the morning, starting 1 hour before TL opens.

After 11 a.m., resort buses stop at TL on the way out of DTD, until the water park is empty in the evening.

darn it. is there a bus from TL to DTD, or will i need to go via a resort

We want to visit some other resorts that we've never seen before when we go in May. We'll be staying at POR and trying to figure out the best way to do this. We have 2 whole days reserved to do this (we're not going to the parks on those 2 days), so we have plenty of time. The only other thing we might do (other than swimming at our resort pool and relaxing at the resort) would be going to DTD.

A few questions:

1) Let's say we're visiting the Epcot resorts and after we want to take the monorail up to MK to visit those resorts. Is there a way to walk to the front of Epcot where the monorail station is on the OUTSIDE, without having to go into the park? We're not going to any parks on this day.

2) We'd also like to visit AKL. I'm not exactly sure when we'll be doing this since it's farther away from the other resorts, but how far is it from AK. Is there a walking path from AK over to AKL or is it farther than that?

We will be using Disney transportation for all of this- no taxi!

THANKS!
