Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

Is it really a big pain. My parents are going to captain grille one night. This is a none scheduled park day and just hanging around resort or dtd. Can they just take bus to epcot then walk t the yc, people say it is really out of the way. or if at dtd take bus to yc. We are going to cape may on epcot day so thought we could walk there from epcot. WE are using the bus system only.

If they take the bus to Epcot they will have to enter the park and use up a park entry. Not an issue if they have hoppers.
They can also take the bus to DHS and then either walk or boat to YC from there.
Or head to DTD and take the YC/BC bus from there. If they are already in DTD, it makes the most sense to just take the bus from there.
Or a cab...that might be the easiest.

We have hoppers. I have encouraged them to go explore epcot especially world showcase without us since we have little ones. How long is the walk?

From the bus area at the front of Epcot, thru Future World and International Gateway, to BC is just over a mile.

That bypasses most of World Showcase, just going past Canada and UK.

A circle tour of World Showcase is also just about a mile, not including walking into any pavilions.

Here's my question:

We're planning on being at Epcot till closing (9). After Illuminations, I want to head over to the Boardwalk Bakery to pick up a custom cake order.

I'm assuming once I leave Epcot they won't let me back in, so I'll have to go from Boardwalk to my hotel (ASMu)? Correct?

Is that going to be a pain? I know nothing about the Boardwalk busses. Do they go from resort to hotel like that? Or am I going to have to take a bus to somewhere else, get off that bus, then get on another bus to ASMu?

I ask because I know I have to go get the cake, but if it's going to be a long trip back to ASMu, I'll send DD and DH on from Epcot.

Thank you.

Yep, it's gonna be a big pain. Why don't you head over to BW and get the cake before Epcot closes?? Say, about 7:30-8ish. Then, go back to Epcot, watch IllumiNations and then exit the park and take your resort bus.
Otherwise, you have a few options....
you can get your cake, take the bus to DTD and then transfer to the ASMu bus.
If DHS is still open, you can walk or boat there and take your bus.
Or...just take a cab back to ASMu.

Thanks.

I didn't want to be carrying around a cake box for illuminations - fear of getting it mushed - but I will consider it for the ease of getting back to ASMu.

HS closes at 8:30 so that's not an option.

So I'm thinking get it early or take a cab. I'm guessing a cab will cost a bit of $$ - maybe 20/25.

Or about an hour on the busses.

It'll depend on how tired we all are. lol!

Thanks again.

It would probably be $15, plus tip. I would think it would be well worth it. Managing a cake box on a bus would be difficult.

That would be my thought as well...much easier to get the box all crunched up on the bus than at IllumiNations. I would just take a cab.

Hi all - I am pretty new to the board and have done a lot of trolling. With that being said one of the things that I am struggling with is mapping out our routes to and from point A to point B for our trip.

Here are the situations that I am looking for assistance with.

1. Coronado Springs resort to Downtown Disney

2. Coronado Springs Resort to Downtown Disney

3. Downtown Disney to Magic Kingdom

4. Coronado Springs Resort to Chef Mickeys (Contemporary Resort)

5. Chef Mickey’s to Magic Kingdom

6. Magic Kingdom to Whispering Canyon Café (Wilderness Lodge)

7. Whispering Canyon Café to Coronado Springs Resort

I think that covers it!!! Again thanks in advance for the help. My wife and I along with our 3 yr old DD appreciate it!

1. There will be a bus that will take you to DTD, and back again, from CSR.

2. repeat

3. No buses running between DTD and any park. I would take the bus to the Contemporary from DTD...then walk over to MK via the sidewalk that runs beneath the monorail. Takes about 8 mins.

4. Bus to MK...then either walk to CR (again, beneath the monorail along a sidewalk) or take the monorail over.

5. Walk along the sidewalk back to MK...the walk will take you about 8 mins. If you take the resort monorail line, it will take you about 20+ mins, not including wait times.

6. Boat from MK to WL

7 Boat back to MK, then bus to CSR.

Hope this helps...and welcome!!

Sadly there's not an index for this thread, so I apollogize if this question has been asked already in the 20 some pages...

What is the best way to get from Epcot to the Grand Floridian? Are there busses, or do I need to take the monorail? If I take the monorail, do I need to change monorails at the TTC?

No problem asking questions that have already been asked!!
You will take the monorail to the TTC and then transfer to the resort monorail line. This would be the proceedure for all the MK resorts as well as MK....when going to and from Epcot.

A friend has asked me if they can walk (with a 5 yr old, and 8 yr old) from DCB resort to Hollywood Studios?

We've never stayed at DCB, and I really don't have a good feel about where it is.

Can anyone help?

Ummm, not sure which resort you're talking about. Perhaps Caribbean Beach perhaps?? If so, no, you can't walk it.
The only resorts that are walkable to DHS are Swan, Dolphin, Yacht Club, Beach Club and Boardwalk. All of these resorts are within easy walking distance with BW being the closest and YC/BC being the more distant. It's under 20 min from BW and about 25 mins from both YC/BC. And there are boats from all these resorts as well.

Is there a list anywhere that shows how long it takes to drive from A to B if you have a rental car?

We are booking lots of meals at resorts and I want to figure out how long it will take us

thanks

I've not seen a listing like that. It's a good idea to plan on about 30 mins when driving from resort to resort. Most everything is really pretty close to everything else in WDW. It seldom takes more than 20 mins to get anywhere by car...usually much less.

Thanks. We'll be at AKL so maybe we'll leave a little extra time. The first day I'll just have to keep track of how long it takes us to get from AKL to MK and judge the rest from there :)

Have breakfast reservations for 9:15am and ned to get to the BC from Port Orleans French Quarters. What is the best way , could drive but really wanted to use internal transportation.

 7 Days till Disney Vacation.
