Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

Ok, great, thanks!

If you don't mind, I have a few  We will be using Disney transportation exclusively...

POR to GF (Citricos)

MK to SSR (TC)

POR to BW (FF)

HS to DTD (WPE)

POR to Contemporary (CG)

EPCOT to AKL (Sanaa)

AK to OKW (Olivia's)

TIA!!

  • POR to GF (Citricos)
Bus to MK, then the Resort Monorail to GF. Allow 1 hour. If it's early morning, allow an extra 10 minutes. Resort Monorail starts running at 7 a.m. If it's during MK park hours, you have the option of a boat from MK to GF instead of monorail.

  • MK to SSR (TC)
Direct bus. Allow 45 min.

  • POR to BW (FF)
Bus to DHS, then boat to BW. Allow 1:10. You can also walk from DHS to BW. Boats start running at 8 a.m., or 7:30 on DHS EMH mornings.

  • HS to DTD (WPE)
If you can walk 1/2 mi., bus from DHS to SSR, get off at the Congress Park station and then walk to DTD. Allow 1 hour.

Or, bus to Pop Century, then bus to DTD. Allow 1 hour.

Or, bus to POFQ or OKW and boat to DTD. Not sure how long the boat rides take.

  • POR to Contemporary (CG)
Bus to MK, Resort Monorail to CR. You can also walk the 1/2 mile from MK bus stop to CR. Allow 50 min.

  • EPCOT to AKL (Sanaa)
Direct bus. Allow 35 min.

  • AK to OKW (Olivia's)
Direct bus. Hospitality House, where Olivia's is at, is the last stop. Instead of going all the way around the resort, get off at the 1st stop, Peninsular Road. It's just a 5 minute walk to Olivia's, and will save you 10 minutes. Allow 1 hour.

For morning ADRs, always tell the driver what your final destination is. There's a chance you may get dropped off right at the resort.

And the times I quoted are expected travel times from stop to stop, including maximum normal wait times. Don't forget to add in time walking from your room or park to the stop, and the same at the other end. There are times it may take longer due to delays, but WDW restaurants are good about allowing some leeway to allow for such circumstances.

Have a great trip!

We hope to be at Poly for the 8pm Spirit of Aloha show, which I understand will finish around 10pm, then need to get back to POP.

If we take the monorail to MK for the POP bus, we will get caught in the massive crowds leaving MK. Is there another route, using WDW transportation? (Assuming buses will not be going from Poly to other parks since they will be closed by 10pm - this is in late September)

If we decide on taxi, anyone know what the cost would be?

Would we be able to get 3 adults and 2 children (7 and 10) in one taxi?

Will we have to book a taxi ahead of time or are they usually hanging around the resorts?

If we need to call for a taxi, will the reception desk be able to do that for us? (no cell phone)

Thanks for advice.

I know there are special buses provided after HDD at FW. I don't think they do that for Aloha, but I'm not sure.

If not, the only Disney Transport alternative after the parks have closed is to transfer at DTD. Other posters have reported long delays doing this, so you may be no better off than dealing with the MK exit crowds.

Normally there are lots of taxis at the resorts, but I don't know whether they get overwhelmed when Aloha exits. If none are available, you can have the bell desk call one, or you can walk about 5 minutes to the TTC taxi stand. Mears runs taxi vans for the same rate as regular taxis, and you would have no problem fitting 5 in one of those. Even on the regular taxis, the sign on the door says they can carry 5, but it must get pretty crowded.

Not sure of the cost. Pop is one of the furthest resorts from MK. Based on previous posts here, probably somewhere between $15-$25 plus tip.

  • Wow, thanks so much - that was VERY helpful :)

Thanks so much for the info. :flower3: When we arrive at POP we willl ask about the possibility of special buses after the show, otherwise I think we will take a taxi - it's worth the cost to get the little ones in bed asap.

You would be best served by asking one of the bus drivers. Those at the front desks at resorts really aren't all that 'up' on what is going on transportation-wise. The drivers will be able to give you the best info. If it were me, I would just assume I would get a cab.

OK, taxi it will be :thumbsup2 Will we be able to reserve a taxi ahead of time and if so should we arrange it at Poly just before we go to the show, or earlier, maybe before we leave POP for the day? It would be nice to not have to wait too long for the taxi to arrive after the show ;)

Just head out to valet services in the front of the Polynesian..or Bell Services..and they can call a cab for you. Shouldn't take long for a cab to get to you.

We have ADRs for Hoop Dee Doo Review for our upcoming May trip. What would be the best way to travel to and from Frontier Hall from the Beach Club? I've seen something about buses that shuttle you directly back to your resort after the show? Our ADRs are for the 5 pm seating.

Thank you in advance.

Take the bus, from BC, to MK. Then take the boat over to FtW. The boat dock is a very short walk up the path to Pioneer Hall. As far as buses back to the resorts go, this happens only if MK is closed for the night, and seldom after the 5pm show..it usually happens after the last show of the night because there are no other options for getting back. You can take the boat back to MK and then the bus to BC.

Thank you Goofy4Tink! It sounds like getting there with the buses, boats, and walking will be part of the fun!

Need some help please. This will be our first time at WDW and we have ADR for Chef Mickey's and we will be in AK that day. Our reservation is at 5:05 PM for Chef Mickeys. So what time do we need to leave AK and how do we get over to the Contemporary? Also some in our group with be at Epcot that day and will need to get over to the Contemporary too. Any suggestions appreciated

There's a direct bus from AK to Contemporary, but it will stop at BB on the way if BB is open. So allow 25 minutes travel time, and wait time could be up to 20 minutes. So if you want to arrive 15 minutes before your ADR, that's a total of 60 minutes, or be at the bus stop at AK at 4:05.

From Epcot, they'll take the monorail to the TTC, and transfer there to the Resort Monorail to the Contemp. Unfortunately, they'll have to ride all the way around making several stops between the TTC & Contemp. I think 45 minutes for combined travel & wait time is about right for that trip, too.

Remember to allow walking time to get from wherever you are in the parks to the bus stop or monorail station.

have to get from ASMu to poly by 9:50am. So, I assume we take bus from ASMu to MK, then something (boat? bus? walk?) from MK to poly?

or would it be easier to switch at a different park, like AK or DHS as those are closer to the starting point?

This is for june 4th, a friday.

Absolutely take the bus to MK!! Then, you can take either the small boat over to the Polynesian or take the monorail. Much better choice than going to a different park and taking the Polynesian bus.

thanks a ton! My DD will want to check out the monorail, so this gives us reason to!

I'm scrolling through this thread and seeing some great advice given but I don't think that I've seen the following two-part question answered(if it was and I missed it, sorry)

We have late dinner ressies at WCC in August and I'm wondering what is the best/easiest/fastest way to get there. We'll be either be coming from one of the parks or from POR where we'll be staying.

When I say late ressies, I mean 7:50PM so the other part of my question is what would be the best/easiest/fastest way to get back to our resort(POR)?

Also, I read somewhere that we can walk from Epcot to ESPN Club. Is this true? If so, how long is the walk and would we be better off using a different means of transportation?
