Official "Heroes" discussion thread - Caution: Speculation and Potential Spoilers

Wait hold it whoa ...

is Mama Petrelli saying what I think she's saying???

Here's a bit of trivia ... that reporter that approached Niki/Jessica/heck I've lost track of her name now ... was William Katt from "The Greatest American Hero."
I saw that...it took me a minute though. I absolutely loved "The Greatest American Hero". I had a little crush on William Katt back in the day. I heard he was going to be on "Heroes". I was hoping his stint would last a little longer. Maybe it will??? What happened there when Nikki grabbed him? He froze or something. Is that his power or hers?

You know, I wasn't really surprised by this revelation. I had seen it coming for a while.

So glad Heroes is back, but after reading some of the posts I realized I don't really remember how last season ended! Hopefully I can watch that online before I watch the season 3 premiere this week. Unfortunately I had to record it on our tv that my husband plays his games each morning so I might not get a chance to watch it until this weekend  I so need a dual tuner Tivo for my bedroom tv!

About Tracy -- is she another personality of Niki's or is she really someone else entirely? I think she's someone else, maybe a missing sister of hers. Last time we saw Niki, she was in a building that blew up. The events in the episodes last night take place immediately after last season's ending. It would take a lot longer than that for Niki to establish a new identity, especially as an aide to a governor.

I just hope they don't end up overusing the "long lost sibling" plot device. Things like that can get really old really fast, and this show is better than that.

I saw that!! I thought it was a nice touch. Too bad he didn't last long.

Glad to see that you're still a nerd, Matt. ;)

I guess you're one, too! :thumbsup2

I'm SO not up on sci-fi. My nerdiness must show itself in other things that I do. :)

My kids were mad when I made them go to bed at 10:00. We'll be watching it again when they get home from school. I liked Mohinder without his shirt. They should do that more often, as long as he doesn't have sores peeling off his back. He's got some interesting qualities now.

Claire and Peter are going to annoy me if they keep up what they're doing. I like them better as a team... working against Nathan but never letting him know.

I liked how Sylar gains his powers. "Eat your brain? That would be disgusting, wouldn't it?"

I don't understand how they can capture and keep Sylar at Primatech when he has so many cool powers.

Overall, I thought it was a good episode.

Not a bad way to start the season. But I'm even more confused than ever about how Sylar gets his powers. Does he just "absorb" them, sorta like Peter only he needs to find a particular spot on his victim's brain to do it? I mean, he was starting to bleed to death, squished around Claire's brain for a while, found a particular spot, and all of a sudden he had her power. Or is he able to see how a person's brain is wired, and somehow tell his brain to start working that way to gain their ability? And what about Mohinder's theory that it is controlled by the adrenal gland? That is no where near the brain, so is he just wrong about that? Or are different hero's abilities controlled by different parts of their anatomy? Man, the more questions that get answers, the more that are raised...

( hello fellow peep!!!)
Yah i am with you..i think you are on to something about the seeing how the brain is wired..remember he was a clock maker/fixer..so he is all about mechanics..i laughed out loud when he said claire was gross for the "eating the brain" line....

What, 3 hours of new Heroes and only 2 pages of discussion? Man, you guys are slacking.

I thought it was great, so nice to have "my" show back on! It seemed like it went really fast though, like they were packing in stuff that maybe they originally wanted to reveal slowly but got derailed due to the writer's strike, and now they're playing catch-up. There were several times I had to rewind, because I blinked and missed something.

I loved Mama Petrelli's revelation at the end. Can't say I didn't suspect.... but still cool. I thought it odd that Claire's adoptive mom came home, saw her with a bloody drippy line on her head, and didn't ask more questions. Then again, that whole family is weird. It got kind of confusing with the 2 Peter's for a while, but I think I've got it straight. Wonder how the "real" Peter is going to fare? Lots of interesting stuff going on - not sure if I like the new fast pace or not. And Mohinder -- yikes! He looked hot but crazy!!

I will say that they've hired a lot of good looking guys to be on that show....open to all races and ethnic groups.   (We do miss Isaac...why does he have to stay dead when most of the other dead heroes get to come back to life?)

Mohinder is an idiot. He shouldn't have injected himself so quickly.

It was also stupid for Hiro to open the envelope so cavalierly....after all of his experiences, I don't think the writers should have made him so careless.

But don't you think, if Sulu knew his son, knew he would disobey him and open the safe, would also know enough to not have the CORRECT formula in there if it was really THAT important to humanity?

Methinks that half of the formula is fake.

Just finished watching last night's premiere. I really enjoyed it and I guess I am one of 5 people who had NO idea about Mama Petrelli's revelation...even Dbf who only watches casually b/c I do, said he saw that coming.
Yeah, I'm a bit confused about who this "Tracy" really is. I tend to agree that she is a totally seperate person from Nikki. I can't wait for the rest of the season...I'm really interested to see where Elle goes from here.

That's a good point. The future Hiro saw could have NOTHING to do with the formula and everything to do with Mohinder finding out he can give anyone powers.

I also LOVE the direction they went with Parkman. That scene was awsome "why are you talking to a turtle??". I'm really curious what happens with him now.

My fav part was when Claire asked Sylar "are you gonna eat it" sylar replied "no thats disgusting"

At first i was near tears when sylar caught up with claire, i was so afraid that something bad would happen, then to find out she can never die i wa quite relieved.

I was upset with Hiro for opening the safe. (shame shame Hiro)

and i was completly shocked when i found out that Mama Petrelli was also Sylar's mother

I HATE Sylar  :scared1: :sad2:

reallly hate him he kills too many people ( getting close to a turnoff for me to watch :3dglasses )

I know its all not supposed to be fairies & pixix dust,,, but.. really did I mention I HATE SYLAR!!:headache:

But Claire ages. Are we supposed to forget about that because she is still young?

My DD so guessed that Mama Petrelli was Sylar's mother, too. DS was clueless.

Didn't they say last season, in regards to Adam Monroe (who seems to have the exact same power) that after regenerating over and over it somehow alters the cells and they stop aging? So my guess is that at some point Claire will stop aging too.

Don't worry...it looks like Sylar will be joining forces with Noah next week. Does that mean Sylar becomes a "good guy"?

I had an inclining about Mama Petrelli being Sylar's mom.

Oh and who else laughed at the rpe-show when the actor playing Noah said he's sometimes called HRG?

I forgot about him. Thanks for reminding me. That makes sense.

I'm having a hard time recalling everything from last season since it was presented so long ago and they didn't rerun anything this summer.

A couple things occurred to me yesterday, after thinking about the show for a while:

Where is Molly? Wasn't she staying with Mohinder and Parkman? With Parkman in the African desert talking to turtles (hilarious, by the way!) and Mohinder turning into The Fly in Isaac's loft, what happened to Molly?

Could Tracy be Niki's twin sister? Didn't she have a sister who died, and that's where Jessica came from? Or am I completely making this up? Perhaps the sister didn't die after all, and was adopted as a child and grew up as Tracy. That would explain why she looks the same and has similar ambitions, and also is discovering that she has powers.

I'm interested to see how Ando ends up having powers. I'm guessing Mohinder and his syringe have something to do with it -- unless of course Ando comes in contact with Elle's brain. Or maybe that wasn't Ando at all. Can Sylar shape-shift?
